Lovely place, nice for a treat. Nice homely atmosphere, beautiful views. The food was good. I had the haddock and it was amazing. My Mother in Law had the salmon and she said it was a little dry but good. I could have eaten more of it, there wasn't enough on the plate but the amount that was there was lovely. The wine list was great and the wine we got was delicious. The deserts were fab too. Good food all around! The service was great! The lady who served us (I think was the owner) was friendly and attentive without being over bearing. We stayed there for hours and she didn't mind at all, which was nice. Ive marked down for value for money because of the portion sizes. I really wish there was more on the plate! We will return!

Ivory Tower Restaurant
Exchange Buildings, Princes Street, Cork City, Cork

Absolutely amazing place! The room is small, enough for about 20-30 people aprox but the atmosphere is wonderful. The food is THE BEST I have ever tasted in Ireland! The service was good, although on a busy Friday night, they could have done with another waiter. We paid E150 for 2 people with a bottle and a half of wine. I know its expensive in this day and age but we stayed there for 4-5 hours (a party of 5 people) and ate fantastic food. We were nicely stuffed when we left but not overtly full. Thoroughly enjoy it and will always go back.

La Lavanda
Main Street, East Village, Douglas, Cork

Great atmosphere here, very beautiful little place. Food is good - I got salmon fish cakes and my husband got the pizza. Both were tasty, mine was a little on the heavy side with huge portions. Good wine list, lots of choice! The service was great, very professional and friendly. The value was good, average really. We spent 35 for 2 mains, 2 drinks and a coffee. Am going back again tomorrow night and looking forward to it so thats a good sign!

Lal Quila
Tramways Terrace, Old Garda Station, Douglas, Cork

Got a delivery from here. They took 45 minutes to deliver, the food was cold. When I called to complain, I was told I shouldn't have gotten a delivery from here if I didnt like the food. The manager was rude and unhelpful. I paid over E30 for the food and only could eat a side dish out of it all. I noticed the reviews for this place were from 2008 and to be fair, in 2008, it was the best Indian to eat in Cork but since then, they have fallen right down. They have expanded their menu so now it includes mexican, italian and other international food. This is never a good sign when an Indian place branches out like this. Avoid!

Fresco at The Lewis Glucksman Gallery
The Lewis Glucksman Gallery, UCC, Cork, Cork City, Cork

We got a tapas deal here a couple of weeks ago and honestly, it was the worst experience I have had in a long time. I have nothing good to say about the place. The tapas were inedible, in fact, we left most of it on our plates. It was meant to be fusion but it just didn't work. It was bland, season less and really bizarre. The service was terrible- 15 minutes to get our drinks, 30 to get our food and it wasn't even busy! Value for money was bad as we couldn't eat our food. No one came to our table once to ask us how everything was and when I went to pay, no one asked how it was then. Miserable place with shocking service and food. Avoid like the plague!

Electric
41 South Mall, Cork City, Cork

-I have been here before in the early afternoon and it was lovely. They served fresh cakes with delicious coffee so was looking forward to going here in the evening. -When we walked into the bar, we didn't feel very comfortable. There is a certain type of clientel that go there that if you are not "dressed to impress" (even on a wednesday afternoon), you are gawked at. We were casually dressed, meeting a group of people for a few quiet drinks, which for a wednesday night, I was not expecting to be in very dressy clothes. -We all ordered beers and soft drinks and I ordered the calamari. It was tough and chewy and served with an awful spicy tomato sauce. I asked for garlic mayo but got mayo. When I asked again, I got garlic mayo but it was vile and tasted like plastic. For 8 euro for a taster, I was not impressed! -The service was good for the waiter. He was attentive and always came around every time we finished our drinks, even though he was busy which was very appreciated. The bar staff were unhelpful so we stopped getting up to get our own drinks and asked the waiter to do so instead. -Needless to say, we didn't stay there all night. A little disappointed for such a beautiful bar on a great location.

I love coming out here, its a real treat. The atmosphere is top notch, sitting outside on a sunny day, overlooking the water, its wonderful. My husband ordered the pork and I a sandwhich which was not on the menu. My husband said that the pork was lovely, it was accompanied by many sides. My order was not a problem and they were only too happy to assist. After lunch we got coffee's and deserts- warm ginger cake. It was yummy! The service is always one of professionalism and we have never ever had a problem. It is reasonably priced based on the location, service and quality of food. We go there about 5-10 times per year and have held family events here. Its 5 star!

Bombay Palace Indian Restaurant
14/15 Cook Street, Cork City, Cork

Got a take out from there last night, getting the Madras Chilli Vegetable with the Peshwari nann and Raita. It was beautiful! Tasted like an authentic indian meal. I drove all the way from Glanmire to get the delivery on someone else's recommendation and I am so happy that I did. 5 stars!

Four Liars Bistro
The Butter Exchange, Shandon, Cork City, Cork

So the visit was okay. The BYO was very good! We each bought a bottle of wine and stayed in the restaurant until 11:30pm. The Atmosphere was good, the girls serving us were lovely however the service was still very very slow. The food was okayish. One of the other guests got the steak and raved about it. I got the pasta and is was ok. I had to sprinkle it in salt for it to taste nice, I thought it was out of a packet. Would I return again? Yes for the value, possibly with my husband, but not to entertain with other people.

Liberty Grill
32 Washington Street, Cork City, Cork

This visit was a little bizarre. We had booked a table for 2 at 12:30pm but they declined in at 10am this morning due to no tables available. Obviously, I did not check my mail before I went in for lunch so we did not know that it was canceled. We got a seat and sat down. When people started to queue up, I overheard the staff saying that there was no tables available to others so I stood up and said I had a booking but did not announce it upon arrival. It was only then I found out that my booking was cancled but we still got a seat for 12:30pm for lunch! Other than that: Atmosphere, medeocre. It felt rushed and uninviting. The food was ok. I had the falafel burger. My pitta bread was chewy and hard to eat and there wasn't much falafel in it. The coffee was great though. My partner had the pancakes and bacon. It was adequate. Small portions though The service was not good. Not what I expected at all. The staff looked confused and some of the customers were agitated. Not a nice experience. Value for money was ok. we spent 23 euro for something that we could have paid less for and gotten more of. Will not be returning.

Cornstore
40 Cornmarket Street, Cork City, Cork

Its a real treat coming to this place to eat. The atmosphere was great for a date for me and my fiance. It was lunch time but still, it felt as if we were having dinner. The service is impeccable as always! Friendly, efficient and attentive. Always a tippable service! The food hit the spot. I'm a vegetarian and even though there wasn't a lot on offer for me, I got the curry and it was BEAUTIFUL! My other half got the burger and said it was perfect. Always a good sign when they can satisfy any palate! The value was great too. I think we paid about €25 for 2 mains and 2 drinks with tea and coffee. The evening time is a little bit on the pricy side but I have eaten there before a while back for dinner and it was the same as if I was eating there for lunch. Well done!

Vista
Shearwater, Pier Road, Kinsale, Cork

Atmosphere was nice and relaxed but still very up market. I am a vegetarian so there was not a lot of options there for me but when i asked for alterations to the food, they obliged with no questions asked. The food was good. My fiance had the pizza which he said was perfect. I had the anti pasti with no meat which was perfect. The service was great! A lovely energetic gentleman served us with a smile on his face. Overall, it started us on a good night. We will be back!

This was a disaster! The atmosphere was more of a diner than a fine dining experience. The room was cold and unbalanced. The food was strange. our bill came to nearly E90 for 2 mains, 2 drinks, 2 deserts. My microwave reheated nachos certainly didnt do the price tag justice! My husband had the steak and said it was nice - it was nearly E30 so i wasnt expecting anything less! It seriously wasnt anything special, like i said, more of a diner experience. Also, they had very little vegeterian options- about 6 options in total. No value for our money. We left stuffed but we dint feel good about it. TOO OVERPRICED! The only thing i cannot fault was the superb service we recieved from our waiter. He was friendly, helpful and informative. Would not return again.

Cafe Mexicana
Careys Lane, Cork City, Cork

This is such a fun place to go. We never make a booking cause its the type of place we go when we're just finished work and we want to have some food and drinks- great sangria!! The food is alright. Sometimes its good, sometimes it could be better but i keep on returning so i know what i'm getting! The service is good. We leave a tip because the waiters are lovely- they could be more alert! The value is ok- maybe they should put down some of the prices, especially for the microwaved stuff. I came to this place 4.5 years ago on my first date with my husband and I have returned ever since. Im not sure I'd change anything about the atmosphere but the other points could improve!

Wagamama (Cork)
4/5 South Main St, Co City, Cork City, Cork

This is a fast food joint. No more, no less. Its for people who want lunch on the run but want something tasty, filling and healthy. The food is goooooood!!! It certainly hits the spot! I hadn't been here in ages and we ended up here spontanously after work and I had fogotten how much I love this place!!! The service is quick, friendly and efficiant. They assist you if you dont know what to eat. GREAT VALUE! I've never once left Wagamamas feeling broke and unfulfilled. It doesn't break the bank and it fills you up. A stable favourite in Cork city for a non fussy feed.

Scoozi!
2-5 Winthrop Lane, Winthrop Street, Cork, Cork City, Cork

There's a caotic atmosphere here! I usually go here with family with children or with a friend for a chat over lunch. Very loud. Very friendly and bustling. Not reccomended if you want a quiet meal! The food is good. Always a crowd pleaser. You know exactly what your going to get when you eat here. No frills, no fuss. Just food. The service is ok. They're very busy and sometimes stressed but always friendly. The value is what people go for. Its cheap and has large portions. I will return here again but its not my favorite place to go. Average.

ECO Douglas Restaurant
1/2 Eastville, Douglas Village, Douglas, Cork

Eco douglas is cramped! Lots of familys with children and people going out for a meal before hitting the town. Would not reccommend it for dates! The food was good. Nothing special but it certainly hit the spot. The dishes are quite large. I had the fettucini in basil pesto and I can honestly say, its the biggest plate of pasta that i've ever seen! My friend got the chicken and loved it. Again, very large portions. The service was ok. Very polite, but not very attentive. We had to call them everytime we needed something, although, the waitress was nice and recommended a great wine. The value was awesome. Our meal with wine cost E35. We were stuffed!! All in all, it was a good place to get started before we went out. I will return again!

Flaminco
88 North Main Street, Cork City, Cork

The atmosphere is great in here. It's quiet and relaxed. The food is THE BEST in Cork. It is fresh and authentic. Tastes wonderful every time I go back and I've been there over 10 times since January. The service is one of a kind.. In a good way! The waiter is Italian and speaks Italian to all of the customers! He speaks English too of course but you get a service that is like no other. The value for money is top marks too. We usually have a main, a desert, a drink and a coffee each which works out at about 15-20 Euro per person. Its so so delicious! If they delivered to my house I would never cook again :)

The East Village Bar Restaurant and Hotel
East Village, Douglas, Cork

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The food is great, a good selection for both meat lovers and veggies alike. They have great sized portions and its yummy to boot. The Atmosphere is here is always electric and there is always a good night had by all. The value is great, big portions, not so big price. You can buy a good bottle of wine for E20!! The only downside is the service. While all the staff is lovely, there isn't too many of them. You can wait up to 20 minutes for a drink at the bar! The waitress comes around once every 1.5 hours. They need more staff its always so busy! I would recommend this place to friends enjoying eachothers company and who dont mind taking it slowly.

Il Padrino Pizza Pasta House
21 Cook Street, Cork City, Cork

In september, I gave it 5 out of 5 stars, going back this evening, it was a very different story! Tonight, we were 6 adults and 2 children and to be honest, we were ignored the whole night! The food was awful. Ate my main but wasn't impressed. Could have gotten that sauce out of a jar. And the desert? Good god! Italian cheese cake? More like gelatin cake! It looked as awful as it tasted! As an Italian woman cooking italian meals at home, this was "fast food" Italian and not what I expected or have tasted before haven eaten at this place. The service was terrible. The ladies that served us were rude, curt and through the whole meal, we felt as if we were an inconvenience! The atmosphere was weird. Not like I remembered before. I did not feel welcome because we had kids. The value was the only thing that was positive- under €190 for the whole meal. I suppose you get what you paid for! I will never return to Il Padrino's.

Amicus
Paul Street, Cork City, Cork

I always go here! I love the atmosphere, the suberb casual yet professional service and the food is devine! I'm a vegeterian who loves healthy food and my husband is a meat eater who like calorific food so the only place that caters to both tastes is Amicus. 10 out of 10 everytime!
