I was here with a friend on Saturday at 3.30pm. The place wasn't packed at this time which was nice. Our waiter was very friendly, we didn't know whether to order one basket of wings each as a starter and then a main or to share the wings, he told us there would be enough to share as a starter and he was right. And they were DIVINE! My main was the steak sandwich, again divine, cooked to perfection with little or no fat, very impressed. My friend had the French toast, this too was delicious! The bacon was a little salty so be careful not to add extra salt. Without doubt I will be back here again. Food a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for, delicious food and friendly staff and I would gladly pay for that every time. Oh and the lemon water for washing our hands in was hot - a sign that a restaurant knows what its at!

Do not get the platter in here. For 24 Euro it was terrible. Have you ever seen ribs deep fat fried? Get this platter and you will, which in turn leaves them dry and horrible tasting. The garlic bread should not be called garlic bread, it was just bread with butter. The chicken wings were not wings, horrible shaped things that didn't taste great either. I don't eat sausages so I can't comment personally, except to say that the people eating them weren't the best. The onion rings were the best on the platter and they weren't the best either. And the chips were just greasy. I will never get a platter in here again. I'm not sure I will even return to this pub as my friends glass had lipstick on it. We tried to complain to the staff but I'm not sure if they even understood us because they certainly didn't do anything about it. In my opinion these platters are left there, reheated and given to people who have had a few too many drinks and think the food is ok. Far from it. And I will not be recommending this pub or its grub to anyone. Tourists must come for the selection of alcohol, certainly not the food.

Brasserie 7
The Capel Building, Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Oh dear oh dear. This place has seriously gone down hill. I hadn't been in awhile but have been here 3 or 4 times before and those last times it was lovely. This time however was a big let down. The chicken wings are smaller in portion size now. I wasn't sure what the extras was with my duck, my waiter didn't know either so I just asked could I swap for mash potatoes, I was told no, that it was a set menu for my voucher (however this wasn't the case before). I then asked another waiter what it was I had ordered, he went to find somebody to tell me, it was like a stew I was told. My friend had to order mash as an extra, I did too but also wanted to try this stew. When we got our main, we only got one portion of mash as I think the waiter mistook me saying I would try the stew as me only having the stew, there was a language barrier. But I was glad anyway, as the mash was swimming in butter, I guess they were buttery mash, just not what I was expecting. I had a voucher which was good value, 2 starters and mains for €19. Which is why this time I guess meant no compromise on the menu. When it came to paying for the mash they wouldn't accept my 25% card as I had the voucher and it was only for the a la carte menu, although the extra mash had nothing to do with the voucher! Guess there is no mash on the a la carte menu either! I didn't argue because I wasn't in the mood, I did look to see if the manager was there on my way out but no luck, apparently he said no to the 25% off. The reason this restaurant has gone down hill is simply because it is not getting the customers. One thing for sure I will not be back at this restaurant.
