Just as good as when I visited before. The food, service and value were excellent. One of our party was served her main course about 10 minutes after the rest of us, and she wasn't charged because of the delay. That's what I call customer service!

Sparks Bistro
Smithfield Square, Smithfield, Dublin

I visited Sparks on Saturday last and we were very impressed with the food, service and value for money. It's in an ideal location just across from the Lighthouse cinema, and was a lovely treat after a great evening at the cinema. We will definitely be back again.

Stonecutters Kitchen
Luogh North, Doolin, Clare

I was i the Doolin area for and a few days and visited twice. I was very impressed on both visits, as were my companions. The food is fresh and imaginatively prepared and tastes delicious. The goats cheese starter and chocolate dessert are gorgeous! I would highly recommend to anyone in the Doolin area.

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

While the service was very good, I didn't like having to vacate the table by 9:15, having booked the table for 7 pm (even though this was explained at the time of booking). But the complimentary limoncello was very welcome!

RiverBank Restaurant @ The Court Yard Hotel
Main Street, Leixlip, Kildare

Had a lovely afternoon tea - great value for €30 for 2 people. Lovely sandwiches and mini quiches and great desserts. We had 3 children with us and they didn't charge for the children, despite the fact that there was as much food for the children as there was for the adults! And we were given the leftovers to bring home. I hope they extend the afternoon tea beyond the Christmas period, if they do I'll definitely be back.

The Hot Stove
38 Parnell Square West, Dublin 1 , City Centre North, Dublin

Fantastic new restaurant on the north side for a change. The food was innovative with all flavours complementing each other perfectly. I'm not an adventurous diner, but really enjoyed the little differences to standard dishes which made this a unique dining experience.

The Hen House
The Pavilions, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

We visited the Hen House on a miserable Friday evening and were immediately cheered up by the welcome we received. The staff were delightful and the food was really tasty. The only complaint was that the portions were so large, there was no room for the delicious-looking desserts. The early bird menu was great value and ideal before our visit to the Pavilion Theatre next door.

Pacinos
18 Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Lovely helpful staff, from front of house to the very friendly Portuguese waiter. Only problem was the breeze, as we were quite near the door. However the warmth of the service was a great compensation.

Dux & Co.
51 Wellington Quay (By Ha'Penny Bridge), City Centre South, Dublin

A lovely eclectic restaurant on the edge of Temple Bar, but far removed from the anonymity of the bigger restaurants in Temple Bar. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Darwins
80 Aungier Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We had the early bird which was great value. Even paying full price the food was so good it would have been well worth it. The early bird prices were a bonus! All the food was presented wonderfully. At this stage all restaurants serve beetroot and goats cheese as a starter but the twist is that Darwin's served it as a risotto, which was really light and tasty and a great combination of flavours. The staff were very helpful and gave great advice on which steak to select. The steaks were wonderful, while the desserts were so delicious and light. We were served by a number of different staff members, and they were all really helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning soon.

Wonderful food and very helpful staff

Harrys Kitchen Restaurant
22, Dawson Street, Dublin

While the service and value for money were excellent, the high point of our visit was the wonderful food. Each of the three courses was a blend of complementary ingredients which brought out subtle flavour of the main ingredient. Even a simple starter of smoked salmon was made wonderful by the combination of ingredients in the dish.

Gallahers Bistro
16A D'Olier Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I had afternoon tea here which was great value. The portions were just right - sometimes I find with afternoon tea there is too much of either the sweet or savoury dishes. Not so here, the balance was just right. The sandwiches were delicious and the cakes were yummy. Service was very good. I will definitely be returning.

The Saddle Room @ The Shelbourne
The Shelbourne Hotel, 27 St Stephen's Green, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

I visited the Saddle Room for the Early Bird special, which was great value. There was no feeling of being rushed to make the table available for a later sitting. The food was very good, with a good selection from the table d'hote menu. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, without being over-bearing. The one fault I would have is the location of the tables for 2, which are very close together, and the tables are quite wide so I had quite a problem conversing with my dinner companion and had to lean forward all the time. Overall great value for money in a high-class restaurant, but the seating would put me off going again.

Citron @ Fitzwilliam Hotel
The Fitzwilliam Hotel, St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. I booked the early bird menu, which was great value - 3 courses for €25. The combination of food flavours was delicious and worked well. The portions were just right, and left plenty of room for all 3 courses, not the full stodgy feeling you get in many restaurants. And the amuse bouche was delightful - it was a sight to behold. As wonderful as the food was, the icing on the cake was the fantastic service. Our waitress was charming and very knowledgeable on all aspects of the menu. It was obvous that she knows and loves her food! All in all, I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough.
