Went here on Saturday at around 6pm and the place was packed which is always a good sign. Took about 10 minutes to get a table and because it's a small entrance you do feel as if you're in the way, however, I love the decor of this quirky place, very relaxing and a great atmosphere when you get a table. We shared 7 tapas between two of us (foie gras is particularly delicious) and a bottle of wine, the bill came to 60EUR, great value. Food was fabulous and the service couldn't be faulted.

Went here for the early bird before going to a gig. Staff were super friendly, it wasn't overly busy however we were there early and in and out pretty quickly. Early bird is good value and the gazpacho was the nicest I have ever tasted. Portions are huge even on the early bird menu so you really feel you're getting your money's worth. Great informal place to eat. Highly recommend.

O'Looney's
The Promenade, Lahinch, Clare

This was my second trip to Lahinch and I just had to go back to Waves restaurant (O'Looneys). The view is superb, nothing better than having dinner watching the wild Atlantic Ocean in the rain. The food was equally as wonderful, the best chowder I ever tasted to start followed by chicken stuffed with black pudding, the food was beautiful, the staff were fantastic and the queues out the door show how popular this place is. Without doubt one of my favourite places in Ireland, I only wish I lived closer so I could visit more!

Carluccio's Caffe
52 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I took a friend here for her birthday and we went for the early bird menu which is reasonable. I had pate to start which wasn't great, not a nice flavour and no sauce to accompany it so it was rather dry and bland. The sausage pasta for main was nice and my friend said the putanessca was the nicest she had ever had!

ely gastro bar
Grand Canal Square, (Next to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre), Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Went for the pre theatre menu which is pretty good value. Nice place and a good bar down stairs, it was very busy but probably due to the time of year. Good choice on the menu, had the beef carpaccio to start, other half had the soup. Both very nice and the Guinness bread went down particularly well. Chicken and fish and chips for main, both tasty and the mash potato was great. Would definitely recommend if you’re heading to see a show and short of time as the service was excellent.

China Buffet King
Cinema Building, Dundrum Town Centre, Sandyford Road, Dundrum, Dublin

Went here not expecting much as I’m not really a lover of buffet, however I was so glad I came, thoroughly enjoyed it and it’s so reasonably priced. For starters we had a bit of everything, only criticism is the chicken satay was far too salty for my taste, everything else was delicious, I particularly enjoyed the honeyed chicken, we then went for crispy duck – absolutely gorgeous!! I chose the red Thai curry for main with rice which was equally delicious. I was totally stuffed after that but couldn’t resist a bit of jelly and ice cream, desserts are not amazing but all the other courses make up for it. The staff were lovely, will definitely be back and recommend to all!

Trocadero
St Andrew Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Met a couple of friends for dinner and availed of the reasonably priced early bird menu. A very nice waiter showed us to our seat. The décor is nice and the seats are very comfy. I thought the early bird menu had good choice and I went for the pâté to start which was very tasty, I ordered the wild mushroom risotto for main which I found quite chalky and bland, my friend had the sea bass, it was full of bones. For dessert there was only two choices for the early bird menu, profiteroles and strawberry crumble, went for the crumble and it was very tasty. 25Euro for three courses is good value just wish the main courses had been better. Won’t be rushing back but may give it a second chance at some point.

Fishy Fishy Restaurant
Crowleys Quay, Kinsale, Kinsale, Cork

After deciding to visit Kinsale for the weekend a friend advised me to try this place and we were not disappointed. My partner and I both had the seafood chowder to start it was simply delicious. For main I had battered haddock and chips, the batter so was light, a classic dish done perfectly. My partner had the fish pie which was to die for. Great bottle of house Sauvignon as well. Would recommend to anyone - it was delightful.

Trident Hotel Kinsale
World's End, Kinsale, Cork

I hate pate to start which came with burnt bread, then a steak requested to be cooked medium was in fact very well done and very burnt on top. I told the waitress and I was offered a complimentary dessert - I didn't want to risk eating anything else so declined. Wouldn't recommend!

Las Tapas
Old Bray Road,, Cabinteely Village, South Dublin, Cabinteely, Dublin

Went on a Thursday night at 7pm and we were the only people there, by the time we left at 9pm there wasn't a free table. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and has a nice feel. Food was very good and filling, we had 9 tapas between two and we couldn't finish it. Bottle of wine for 16.50EUR is great value. Really enjoyed the food at the atmosphere. The bill was less than 70EUR - great value!

Fallon and Byrne
11-17 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here with a group friends for dine in dublin week so it was very reasonable, there was a good choice of starters and mains and 3 desserts to choose from. I went for the beef carpaccio followed by the braised beef cheeks, both were lovely. Had the creme brulee for dessert which was delicious, wasn't so keen on the lemon ice cream that came with it and i don't think it was necessary, i think lemon suits a sorbet but that could just be my taste. I also had a try of the white chocolate mousse, wasn't overly impressed had a thick gloopy layer of jelly on top and not much mousse, i'm glad I didn't order it. Service was good and overall I was impressed.

Shelby's Brasserie
73 Main Street, Bray, Wicklow

Went here for a second time with a group of friends for a festive dinner, had a positive experience the first time so was looking forward to a nice dinner, I was disappointed!!! Had the brie to start, which was fine but a little dry. Went for the venison for main, wasn’t overly impressed, it came with only 2 fat slices of sweet potato (very unappealing) and a not very interesting sauce and that was it! It was extra if you wanted any further side orders, not sure you could call it a complete dish. Chocolate fondant for dessert was tasty, won’t be rushing back though.

Farm Restaurant (Dawson Street)
3 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Met up with two friends for dinner and we were seated at a table that was clearly meant for 2 people so it was a little cramped. The goats cheese tartlets and chicken pie were very tasty but the cottage pie tasted burnt and looked very black and dry which was disappointing. The chocolate cake dessert is very nice, perhaps a good one to share as it's incredibly rich. Reasonable value, would return but not to have the cottage pie!

Lime Tree Restaurant @ Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort
Blessington lakes, Blessington, Wicklow

A group of us ate in Lime Tree Restaurant and had a lovely meal. The staff were very friendly and efficient without being intrusive. The food was very good but i would have appreciated a bit more bread with my pate! All steaks ordered were cooked perfectly and the chicken with mushroom rissoto was yummy! The location is beautiful as well.

F.X. BUCKLEY Steakhouse Pembroke Street
1A Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here last night with some work colleagues. There were 14 of us and we were seated in a very private section of the restaurant upstairs, there was a sofa and also an outside space for smokers, it was a brilliant table and we had complete privacy. The waiting staff were excellent and even though we were a big number there was no issue with any of the orders. All food came efficiently and we all had food at the same time (sometimes a problem with big groups). I had the pate to start, only criticism would be there wasn’t enough toast, however there was bread still on the table. I had the fillet steak for main – melt in the mouth, delicious!! We had the Christmas menu which was great vale at €39.95 per head. House wine was good and very reasonably priced. Most enjoyable night had by all!

The Queens Bar & Steakroom
12 Castle Street, Dalkey, Dalkey, Dublin

Went here with 5 friends last weekend, it's a small restaurant off the Queen's bar. I wasn't expecting much more than pub grub but the food was delicious, the lamb burger in particular was lovely and the fish was cooked to perfection. We were chatting to the waitress and happened to mention we were celebrating a birthday, we didn't order desserts but she brought a brownie out after the meal with a candle for the birthday girl - a really nice touch!

Dada Restaurant
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here last week with a couple of girlfriends. It is very dark in the restaurant (especially when it is light outside) but the décor and ambience is lovely. To start we ordered the bread and dips to share, the dips were tasty. We all had tagines for main and they were full of flavour, the chicken was very tender and went well with the pear and nuts. For dessert we ordered profiteroles and chocolate cake, they were disappointing. Service was good, would definitely go back but would avoid the desserts!

Patrick Guilbaud
21 Upper Merrion Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Fantastic restaurant, the food was absolutely delicious. There is a very classy feel to the place but in no way is it pretentious. The sommelier was brilliant and recommended perfect wines, a white to start and a red for the meat main course. It is difficult to fault. You have to be in to your food to eat here as it is pricey.

Mexico to Rome
23 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

I had previosuly been to the restaurant and had the early bird menu, the food was good and it was great value. I was left a bit disappointed this time. I had the brie to start, the breadcrumbs were very hard and I think it had been cooked in the over straight from the freezer! Sauce for my main chicken dish was bland and the chicken tasteless, my partner enjoyed his fajitas though and the staff are very friendly and provide good service.

La Mere Zou
22 St Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

My partner took me for lunch to La Mere Zou for my birthday. We had the current lunch deal which is 3 courses for €20, superb value for such a fantastic restaurant. I really couldn't fault the food or service. A great opportunity to eat delicious food in Dublin City for a reasonable price - we will definitely be back. I would have no problem recommending this resaturant to anyone!

La Caverna Restaurant & Wine Bar
12 Fownes Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Went here with my partner on Sunday evening. Very cute place on 3 levels. It is quite narrow though and when a group of 6 sat near us it was a little cramped. The menu is huge and has a great selection (perhaps to much). I had the brie starter which was good. The chicken curry main was tasty but came with far too much rice. Crepes suzette for dessert, tasted very nice but it was cold, the staff are very friendly and the service is efficient.

Ananda
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Went here for my third visit last Friday, it was as wonderful as the 2 previous times. The restaurant was packed but you couldn't fault the service, they left perfect timing between courses and the food was to die for. This has to be the best Indian in Dublin (and i've been to a good few of them). Fine dining at it's best.

Shack Restaurant
24 East Essex Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Went to shack the Friday before Christmas, I was expecting the place to be heaving but it was surprisingly quiet although admittedly we ate at 7pm. The service was very friendly and efficient and the food was very reasonable. I was surprised reading through other diners comments that they found the staff rude as we certainly did not have this experience. I would go back to this place for an informal meal and it's in a great location at the heart of temple bar.

Dungeon Bar & Grill
Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel, Killiney, Dublin

I love this place and it is always one of the first places I think of when friends and family come to visit. Service is always good and the staff very friendly, I am particularly impressed with the guy who manages the restaurant, very accomodating. I went there one time with my Mum very late after service, he was fantastic and we had a great meal. Steaks are delicious and cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend.

The Church Cafe Bar & Restaurant
Junction of Mary St. & Jervis St., Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I booked the Church for my work Christmas Party. For a big group (22 people) the choice on the menu was excellent, not just your typical turkey and ham. I did the rounds afterwards and was pleased to hear everyone had enjoyed the meal, only issue was people who had steaks found they were not cooked as they had ordered but still tender and enjoyable, I think there may have been a mix up as some were over cooked and some under. We then went down to the bar and later to the club. We all had a great night, the atmosphere really makes this place.

profile_review

Koh
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Went back to Koh on Friday night after such a great experience the last time and I wasn't disappointed. The food is delicious, I had the green curry which has a kick but not too hot - absolutely perfect. Cocktails are great as well and not at a bad price.

Milano (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

This a very nice cheap and cheerful place, pizza's are great and the pollo salad is really delicious. Service is always quick and friendly. A good place to go for a lunch while shopping or a bite before the cinema.

Alexis Bar And Grill
17 / 18 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

This place is yummy, I have been here a few times both with my partner and friends, it is not a venue for a romantic dinner but great for a gossip with the girls. The food is great, I particularly enjoyed the pate. The service is not amazing by any standards but perfectly acceptable and the food more than makes up for it. I will be back yet again!

Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

I had a bad dining experience in this restaurant a while ago but due to the menu pages voucher I thought I would give it another go. I really wish I hadn’t, when we arrived the guy at reception didn’t even acknowledge us for about 5 minutes and then we were eventually shown to a table it was about 2cm away from the table next to us and we were told he would need the table back in an hour and a half – he was very rude and we were not advised of this when booking. Our food waiter was very efficient and quickly took our order, the starters arrived after about 5 minutes before the wine had reached us, I had the goujons, which tasted like pure grease, my partner had the prawns, which he said described as nothing to write home about. We both had the steaks for main which arrived as the starters were being cleared, they were cooked OK but mine tasted very burned on the outside, the garlic butter was disgusting and the presentation was awful. Couldn’t believe how expensive it was for the quality of food. It was absolutely packed – I can’t believe anyone in Dublin would pay for food like this when there are so many great restaurants with much better value for money. Clearly they want as many bums on seats even if this means sacrificing a good dining experience. Never going back – you had your second chance!

profile_review

First Floor Bar & Brasserie @ Harvey Nichols
Dundrum Town Centre, Sandyford Road, Dundrum, Dublin

Very nice restaurant that has been tastefully decorated and has a lovely feel about it. The bar is great for a pre dinner drink or an after dinner cocktail. The lunch menu is extremely good value for money, the portions are small but at the price you really can't complain. Their cafe downstairs is great as well.

profile_review

The Club Bar
17 Colliemore Road, South Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin

Love this place for pub grub, it's superb. Eaten here on many occassions and at this stage have had most things on the menu. The burger is particularly good. Great place to go on a miserable Sunday afternoon for a good feed and a great atmosphere.

profile_review

One Pico Restaurant
5-6 Molesworth Place, Schoolhouse Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went for a family celebration and had a bottle of house champagne to start that was absolutely delicious. The food as always was faultless, the service was a bit off though, they sommelier never seemed to be around and you couldn’t get wine off anyone else and some dessert plates were cleared while others were still eating, not what you expect from this standard of restaurant, however, we had a great evening and a great meal!

profile_review

Shanahan’s on the Green
119 St. Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

This is a very expensive restaurant but delicious. My partner took me for my birthday and I was very impressed. It didn't have a pretentious atmosphere that these type of restaurants sometimes do, the staff were welcoming and lovely. The bread is delicious, I shouldn't have eaten a starter as the bread was very filling. I had a salad to start which was fine and then a beautiful fillet steak for main - definitely no room for a pudding. I would go back but it would have to be for a special occassion.

profile_review

Guinea Pig
17 Railway Road, South Co. Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin

This is one of those places you go to for a special celebration as it is very pricey. The food is always delicious and cooked to perfection, fantastic selection of seafood available. The head chef comes around to all the tables as well which is a nice gesture. The decor is a little out dated and it always seems very hot in there, other than that a lovely spot in wonderful Dalkey, a treat indeed.

profile_review

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This is a nice tapas place in town, the food is always good but I do find for tapas the portions are enormous, I would personally prefer to try more dishes at one sitiing! It gets busy very quickly which can be an issue as they don't take bookings!

Toscana (Dun Laoghaire)
5 Windsor Terrace, South Co. Dublin , Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Went here on Sunday at 4pm, didn't expect it to be very busy but a good few tables were occupied. They do a brilliant weekend lunch menu, 2 courses and a glass of wine for 20.95. We had the menupages voucher for a bottle of wine so I decided to have a baileys coffee, they said I could substitute it for the glass of wine available with the menu, I was really happy with this as I hadn’t requested it be included and a lot of restaurants are not so generous. We decided to have desserts as well as they were only an extra 4 Euros. The bill came to less than 50Eur, for 3 courses wine and coffee that’s amazing value in Dublin even with the voucher. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and attentive.

Pattaya Thai
Johnstown Road, Cabinteely, Cabinteely, Dublin

This is a charming little restaurant, very cosy. The food is wonderful and the staff couldn't do more, excellent service everytime I have been. Value for money is good and they do an excellent take out menu, the food is of high a quality as when eating in the restaurant, it's very quick and they even give complimentary drinks. I am a regular here and have never been disappointed.

Rasam
18-19 Glasthule Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Fantastic place, I went here yesterday with a few girl friends. Service is very friendly, food fantastic and the restaurant itself is very tastefully decorated. We stayed long after the food and wine was finished and didn't feel in anyway rushed to leave. Best Indian I have been too.

FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Myself and my partner went to Fire this week for a romantic Christmas celebration. The atmosphere is fantastic - the decorations and Christmas music give this place a real Christmas buzz and you can't help but be happy! I had the goats cheese to start, it was creamy and delightful, my partner opted for fish cakes which he thoroughly enjoyed but would have preffered another. We both had steaks for main, we ask for medium and that is exactly what we got. There was a salad that came with it with quite frankly an awful dressing and big fat chips that are not too my taste, I ordered the scallion mash as a side dish and I'm very glad I did or I could have been left a little hungry. We both had the strawberry shortcake for dessert which was delicious. Good wine list, we chose a house white that was fine. Waitress very friendly - would return.

Although the staff were friendly, the quality of the food was just awful. Tasteless and bland, I would never go here again.
