Five of us had dinner here, and all enjoyed it hugely. My sister had duck salad, and said it was delicious. I had shrimp and bacon sandwich which is extremely tasty (coriander mayo mmmmm!), and the other three had burgers, all of which were very good. Lovely chips on the side too. We only ordered one dessert, and as they knew it was my sister's birthday, the staff brought it out on a special birthday plate with a candle in it for her and sang happy birthday. A lovely touch, and made the night very special for her. Unfortunately we couldn't stay too long, but we were very happy with our meal and the staff provide wonderful service. Looking forward to my next visit!

Good Food Gallery
Main Street, Kilcullen, Kildare

I had lunch here with a couple of friends recently, as always the food was very good. I had chicken liver pate with toasted brown bread and salad with pesto pototoes. Delicious. One friend had the same, and the other had eggs benedict, which was pronounced perfect. Really lovely coffee and tea too, often the tea is a big let down in restaurants, not so in the Good Food Gallery. We finished off with a fruit scone with cream and jam, perfect. I have eaten here several times in the past, and each time my only complaint was the service. It is perfectly pleasant, but very slow, and staff didn't seem to be in any hurry to remove dirty plates (either from previous customers, or when we had finished eating). However, that was much improved at this visit.

Pyg Restaurant
Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, South William Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I've eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed it. I had lunch recently, and again was struck by the value for money, it really is so good. We both had smoked salmon, poached egg and asparagus on wholemeal bread.... delicious. The egg was perfectly cooked and the dish looked gorgeous, and only costs €5.50. We had a few coffees, a side of (huge!) chunky chips and the bill came to just under €30. Very nice staff; it was pretty quiet when we were there which makes for a nice experience for us, sometimes it can be very busy which is a little less pleasant, but better for the restaurant of course :-) Highly recommend a visit, the Powercourt centre is good to have a wander around afterwards too.

Tenors Grill Room (Naas)
Fairgreen Street, Naas, Kildare

I had dinner here with two friends earlier this week. Starters are €5, and main courses range from €10 to €18. Desserts are €5. I had garlic mushrooms which were absolutely gorgeous, they had warm goats cheese and prawn cocktail. All starters looked and tasted delicious. My friends both had seabass, beautifully presented. I had a taste and it really was excellent, perfectly cooked. Served on a bed of mash with sides of very nice veg. I had the duck, and was a little disappointed... the meat was a bit tough and it was very salty. Again served on a bed of mash with side of veg.We had pavlova of winter berries, and a chocolate fudge cake for dessert, both of which were lovely. We had 2 x G&T, 2 x beers and 4 x glasses of wine, and 2 x coffees and our bill came to €115 excluding tip which is excellent value for money. Service is really good, very relaxed, friendly staff. The restaurant itself is very nice, spacious and comfortable. Parking nearby. Will definitely be back!

Elephant & Castle
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I ate here yesterday evening with two friends. We shared a basket of chicken wings to start which were gorgeous, huge portion, there was plenty for three of us. I had shrimp and bacon sandwich on ciabatta with a coriander dressing... it was delicious and there were plenty of beautifully cooked large prawns. I highly recommend this dish. One of my friends had the tuna and guacamole sandwich on brown bread which she said was really lovely, and the other had calamari salad which again was very good - I tasted this and will be having it the next time. Staff were really pleasant, we were seated at the back of the restaurant which was nice and private. Excellent value for money, great location too.

Hard Rock Cafe
12 Fleet Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

I ate here with seven friends, service very good, they were very accommodating as some of the party were late / numbers changed etc. We ended up in a private booth on the ground floor, perfect for a group like ours was. We ate off the €15 starter / mains or mains / dessert menu which was good value for money. The €5 cocktail menu went down very well also! The only slight criticism was that there was only one starter on the €15 menu, and it was chicken wings with onion rings, which was delicious but we had two vegetarians in the group and they would have liked a veggie option. Good value for money overall, will recommend.

Chapter 40
40 New Street, Killarney, Killarney, Kerry

We had a family meal here, and as there were 13 of us we were seated in a private area upstairs which was lovely. Everything was excellent, especially the service. Two of the party have very serious food allergies, and the waitress could not have been more helpful to them. We had the set dinner menu which is €35, some supplements apply. Very good value, all food was wonderful and beautifully presented, and everyone had a fantastic evening. Highly recommend Chapter 40.

Milano (Temple Bar)
19 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Three of us ate here recently, I had Rustichella pizza which was excellent. I asked for it without the Caesar dressing, and was glad that I did, the other flavours were perfect and I think Caesar dressing would have overwhelmed it rather than complementing it. I had a very nice glass of Pinot Grigio with it, and a latte afterwards. Between three of us the bill was approx €100 for three mains, and bottle of wine, glass of wine and three coffees. Staff were great, the place was packed (Friday evening after work crowd), but they were very pleasant and efficient. Will definitely go back.

Wallace's Enoteca Delle Langhe
Blooms Lane, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

I've eaten here several times, and enjoyed it every time. Great atmosphere, lovely and unobtrusive staff, wonderful food and a really good wine list. I recommend the mixed meat / cheese starter, also the crostini. All the main course dishes are excellent, last time I had the seafood risotto which was perfectly cooked and delicious. Desserts are also very good. Great location too, handy for the luas.

Bardons Pub
Main Street, Kilcullen, Kildare

I ate here with a friend recently and was really pleased with the food, service and value for money. Bardons is a lovely pub near the river in Kilcullen, and while I've enjoyed having a drink there on several occasions, I had no idea they served such a range of food. They had a good, varied menu, and also two "deals", €14 for two courses, or €17 for three. Both my friend and I had chicken wings to start, then I had chicken curry and she had a steak sandwich on tomato focaccia bread. Because the prices were so reasonable, I was expecting small-ish portions (and would have been perfectly happy with that), however both starter and main courses were a good size. The chicken wings were delicious, served with celery sticks and a blue cheese dressing which was just gorgeous. The presentation was wonderful, better than a lot of restaurants I've been to. Main course was just as good, she said her steak was delicious, perfectly tender, and was served with chips in a paper cone sitting in a little metal bucket - nice touches like this make all the difference to presentation. My curry was perfect, served with basmati rice and a poppadum which had been rolled up before cooking so it looked lovely on the side. Our bill for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 glasses of wine, one becks non-alcoholic and one latte was €45. Excellent value. Staff are lovely, and the atmosphere is great. We ended up being there for 31 hours, we just didn't notice the time going as we were chatting, but we didn't feel a bit rushed by the staff. I highely recommend Bardons Pub. Food is served there from 4pm to 8.30pm Monday - Friday, not sure about weekends though.
