Zaks Restaurant (Cork)
No 4 Marlboro Street, Cork City, Cork
Reviewed 24th April 2009 ( visited 27th March 2009 )Zaks Restaurant is tucked away on 4 Marlboro Street, Cork City. I was introduced to this restaurant by some friends of mine while on an Evening out sum weeks ago. We skipped the starters and Headed straight for the Main course although I have heard their Seafood Chowder a Medley of Fresh Fish & Shellfish in Creamy Dill Sauce is to die for? So on my next visit I will give it a try. Being 4 Lads We All Went for the 10 oz Steak with Sautéed mushrooms and Onions and Homemade Chips With various Condiments, I Went for Creamy Pepper sauce, Beautiful. It's a bit of theatre when your steak comes out sizzling on a bed of mushrooms & onions on a Satay Hot Plate :) It was a very tasty steak, well cooked and everything on the plate hit the spot. I must Say Zaks has a really good menu across the Board. It's one of Favourite Restaurants because of this. Will Be Returning in Future!

Lovely Little Italian Restaurant tucked away in cork city, I am yet to Go here for dinner or Lunch but was introduced By a friend to their takeaway menu for a night in... Really Really Good Food Best "Take away" I've ever had. Having Garlic bread with Mozzarella cheese, We had a four season pizza and a Nicoise salad and split it between us, Really lovely food Beautiful salad.. Really yummy dressing. And dessert did it for me! Had their banoffie pie which was gorgeous... the toffee is worth it! and my friend had the Fudge cake which was so nice she didn't share!
Bishopstown, Bishopstown, Cork

The Square, Blarney, Cork
Really Good spot to eat out in blarney, During lunch time you can see locals flocking to eat there, Nice big blackboard just in the door way Showing today's fresh food. Really tasty food, Lovely Waitresses and Excellent value for money. Going to go for dinner here soon Cannot wait.

Kopi Cafe have to pull up their socks If they want to keep customers like me coming in. I had Buffalo Wings for lunch as a starter which were disgusting... The sauce was completely inedible.. I couldn't believe a chef would send it out, Does he even taste the food? season it or balance flavors? I stopped after that. Just paid for the starter and drink and left. Not worth Trying the second main course. Who ever the chef is he needs to learn how to cook. They need new chefs, Who can bring flavor to their food, Sure they make it look nice at the moment But the taste is really Poor.. They are understaffed also which for me is a big problem, They had 1 poor Girl trying to server Hot chocolates, waiter tables and take food in and out.. Felt sorry for her. Hot chocolate, Coffee and ice cream are your only hopes here.
Fota Restaurant @ Fota Island Resort
Fota Island Resort, Fota Island, Cobh, Cork
A very nice restaurant, Service was very good I though nice and polite and the waiters seemed Quite Professional. The Food is a different matter. It's Presented quite nice but flavors are on the experimental side.. I had the Norwegian King Crab which was "Grilled King Crab, Salad of Sea Greens and Sautéed Samphire Tahitians Vanilla Butter Foam and Vierge Dressing" The vanilla butter Shouldn't have been anywhere near the plate... Ruined it for me. My friends enjoyed their meal. Chocolate 3 ways was really nice, They have skilled pastry chef(s) for sure. All in all The food Was Sub standard for a Fine Dining Restaurant.. The Cost of the meal was way too high.

The Lemon Tree Restaurant
The Square, Blarney, Cork, Blarney, Cork
A Very nice restaurant, Home Cooked Food Cooked Very well, Lovely Side Dishes and Desserts. Excellent Service Staff Guided By the Owner Himself. Lovely Place for lunch in Blarney But can be quite busy! as the place is well loved by the locals. Live music and traditional Irish music are played here which is Very Nice. Their Rack of Lamb is gorgeous as well as their Steak and of Course sourced Not 50 feet away! from the Local Butchers Which themselves are one of the best in cork. I'm a Very Happy customer, Very Good Food at Good Prices.
Springfort Hall Hotel
Mallow, Mallow, Cork
A nice Hotel, Restaurant lacks Good Service though. Waitresses stuck in their ways of memorizing a Tale order of 7... Sum thing has to go wrong and it did.. Mixed up orders and mixed up Ways of doneness we wanted our steaks. Disappointing but none the less a nice place For weddings I hear.
Greenes Restaurant @ Hotel Isaacs

88 North Main Street, Cork City, Cork
A Nice restaurant for a date? I think not, Ristorante Casanova is tucked into North Main street Not the Quietest place and the Full open view Windows make any Romantic Meal a let down due to the Racket outside! The Food Needs a Makeover, Food is just Slapped together and thrown out, The Pizza's are good but it's very hard to get a Pizza's presentation wrong... Very poor service also, They need New Waiters With Experience, Good English and Manners It's not too much to ask for is it? A real let down To what I thought was going to be A nice romantic meal out..
Cloghroe, Blarney, Cork
Lovely restaurant, with nice open fires Really relaxing and comfortable. Really Great Food although Prices Are quite High in Times like these you want more bang for your buck! Service is fine, Nice and polite. The menu seems to lack though as it is mostly the same throughout the Menus, Only with a beef lasagne and shepards pie in the Evening bar menu to add a difference. Nice to see fresh fish and seafood cooked simly very well though. Nice to see Ardrahan Farmhouse Cheese, St. Tola Goat’S Cheese on the menu as well as Baldwin’s Farm Made Ice Cream. Cuts abouve the usual Cheese and adds Local Produce to the menu! The menu could do with a bit of a shake up to get in a few new items, New food in season and coming into season as well Definatly Worth a visit Though Good Food You wont find else where!

I had A very Bad experience here.. Me and my girlfriend went here for lunch, The guy at the door said your seats are over there and pointed to the room Full of customers.. Extremely Rude we found a table eventually and waited for Menu's I had to ask for them 20 minuets and eventually they came. we ordered a large pizza between us. It was nice but the service was so Bad and unforgiving We Will not Be returning. There ice cream Is also Brought in It's Not homemade.
Captain America's Cookhouse and Bar (Cork)
4/5 South Main Street, Cork, Cork City, Cork
This is a good restaurant for a quick bite, There burgers are Really good, And there early bird and lunch menu's are real good offers. There portions are quite generous so value for money is a defo! Really nice desserts also, double chocolate cake is always a winner! and their Milkshakes are HUGE! you'd want to have a light meal before one of these! Think they should be shared! The restaurant is really cool also with all music and comic and Celebrity stuff about and the Fat boy Motorcycle over the bar is really cool!
Christys Grill Bar
Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel. Blarney, Blarney, Cork
A Nice Grill Bar in the heart of Blarney. Went here for dinner with a friend back in January to celebrate, The restaurant is quite large with a small bar nice decor and really nice Service staff. We decided to Order off of the A la carte menu, Which was a very good menu, Ranging from pasta dish's, Irish stew, Pizza's, Steaks, Fresh fish and seafood. I decided to have the Seafood Chowder and my partner had Home made chicken Goujon's with BBQ dip and salad. My starter was gorgeous! really creamy and full of a beautiful mix of Prawns,Squid,Clams and mussles... it tasted delicious! and my friends chicken was beautiful, Real homemade chicken goujons not the shop bought or Brought in stuff, with a really nice dressed salad I had a steak sandwich with mushrooms and onions Chips and salad. and my friend had The southern fried chicken breast with sweet chilli jam, fresh vegetables and mash. We also Got a Side dish of Potatoe gratin each it was a rich creamy garlic potatoes with a Glazed cheddar cheese topping.. Which was Beautiful.. So much in fact we asked for 2 extra! Their Desserts are also Homemade which I really liked, I ordered a Fudge cake with a toffee and walnut sauce and my friend got the apple pie with cream and ice cream. A Really Nice Meal and only at 24 Euros ? Absolute Bargain

The Boardwalk Bar and Grill
Lapps Quay, Cork City, Cork
Five of Me an my Friends Went to here For Dinner, with High Hopes Only Hearing the best From Friends and Family Members.. We were Not disappointed!!! We were escorted to the bar where we ordered Drinks and handed Menu's while our table was being set up. It wasn't long Till the Manager escorted us to our table Moving a large curtain across Showing a beautiful Dining Room, Their was a Piano Player and our table, Plenty of Room, and the Restaurant was Nicely Filled. I ordered the Hickory Smoked, Barbecue Baby Back Ribs.. The Portion was huge! And Perfectly Tender fall off the bone.. Delicious. Everyone Really Loved Their Starters and couldn't wait for their Main courses, I ordered the specialist 9oz Fillet steak, came with game chips (like crisps) beautiful Vegetables served in small Copper sautes and with Whipped Potatoes With Butter And Chive extra, Lovely smooth mash superb! and the Best steak of my life Full stop. as Everyone was eating their was a real appreciation for the food there was only "mmh" and "Taste this" Desert came, I was quite full at this stage but there's always room for dessert, I had a Selection Of Homemade Ice Creams Served In A Crisp Wafer Basket, Its like a large brandy snap with gorgeously smooth ice cream.. A real treat! Under 60 euros for the Best meal I've had in Cork well worth it.., and I did pick expensive items from the menu. The waiters/Waitress's are Really good also I saw no sign of A bad service, and Food was cooked Perfectly Not a single Bad comment from our table And we had fussy eaters out! A definite Returning Custom from us and will be popping in for Lunch sum time soon! :)

This Is a Bistro, A Family Suited Restaurant. It's Not a Romantic High Class Restaurant it's a Bistro! That Means Good Home Cooked Food at very reasonable Prices. There is No Massive Frills, Theater or Nonsence. They Have a good solid Menu, I think this had to be one Of the Most well Known Places in Cork For their Breakfasts also Just looking at their "Wall of Fame Menu" You can see the Huge choice and Variety in yor Breakfast.Their Tony's Famous Fry-Up Is Delicious, Hearty and Will set anyone up for a days work. Every Time I go In the place is Full of Happy Customers, Me included.
