Had lunch today and couldn't fault it. Helped that the sun was shining and we got to eat outside. My friend had the mackrel pate and I had the duck pie. Both were delish, with lots of bits on the side. A very filling, tasty lunch. Will definitely be back.

Lovely waitress. I had prawns to start which were lovely and spicy. My mains was ribs and the sauce was only ok plus I was missing the side of slaw. I could have brought it to their attention but I didn't need more food. Hubbie had gorgeous hake and then the mussels. Overall, very positive

Super Miss Sue
Units 2-3 Drury Street Car Park, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

They don't take bookings but wanted to go here (I'd been already but husband hasn't) so we got a table for 9.30. Starving by that time so anything would have been good. Menu seems to have changed and a lot less seafood available. Had the tuna tostado - really fresh and zingy. And then the madagascan jumbo prawn - lovely dressing, can still remember it. Definitely a winner. Bottle of Tempranillo was fine. Not the cheapest but worth it for fine seafood

San Lorenzos
South Great Georges Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Had a lovely brunch here. I had the jerk chicken tacos which was well flavoured, if a bit sloppy. Friends both had crabcakes which gothe the thumbs up. Apple martini hit the spot. Baked nutella cheesecake wasn't baked...it was mouse like and very rich - two of us couldn't finish it. Only niggle was that the music was v.loud. Good to see that the benches are now covered so much more comfortable.

The Birdcage Cafe
Avoca Rathcoole, Naas Road, Rathcoole, Dublin

Had a childfree lunch here with a friend. Food always tastes better when I don't have the kids hanging off me. We shared the chicken liver pate for starter and it was beautiful. Can still almost taste it. Falafel for main was great - lots of different tastes and textures. Will be back

Neon Asian Street Food

Had calamari - delish - the dipping sauce was spicy and tangy. Duck salad had too much sauce. My friend had pad thai which never disappoints. The restaurant was really buzzing. The ice cream cone after is always welcom

Ocha Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar
2 Main Street, Maher's Terrace, Dundrum, Dundrum, Dublin

Had beautiful meal here, using Menupages voucher. Prawn Tom Yum hit all the right notes of spicy and sour and had big succulent prawns. I had the salmon sashimi and my friend had tuna sashimi - both were absolutely divine. Really fresh tender. Mains of prawn green curry and duck teriyaki was also really good - it looked like too much food and I had intended to bring half mine home but it was just too tasty not to devour there and then. Really nice restaurant and very attentive staff.

Quattro 4 Pizza
8 Sussex Tce, Sussex Road, City Centre South, Dublin

Went for dinner with a friend. Both had pizzas and they were good, not amazing. Prawns on my pizza were on the small side. House wine was quaffable. Had tiramisu for dessert and it was lovely - moist, light and with a kick. Overall, not bad but not amazing.....

Crackbird
60 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Walked in to Crackbird on Saturday night and got a table straight away. We were given the window seats - think that's where they seat the beautiful people? Ha ha. They haven't done anything much to the interior so it still looks like a Chinese restaurant. Service was prompt. I just didn't love the food - felt like an overrated KFC to me. Buttermilk chicken was good. Other half had the honey and spicy chicken wings - but they were actually wings, rather than the usual mix with drumstick as well. There would be more meat on a butcher's apron. The sides weren't great - coleslaw was just cabbage and onion - no carrot or anything else that would lift it. I was warned that the noodles were cold but that wasn't the problem - they were just boring. The house wine was lovely and smooth. Think that the menu would be helped by having some mash potato and gravy as an offering....

El Toro Bravo
27 South Richmond Street, Portobello, Dublin

Didn't have a great experience here. Were greeted well when we arrived. The food was a disappointmet. Patas bravas were lacking flavour. Calamari were thin and chewy. Paella was ok to good. Mushroom croquettes were nice. Our finished dishes weren't cleared away and we had to ask the waitress if we could order coffees. We weren't offered the dessert menu but that was probably just as well...

Kitchen
3 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here with a Citydeal voucher. Got two starters, two mains and four beers. Waitress kindly let us swap some of the beers for a wine. I had the beef salad starter which was lovely. Husband had chicken wings which came in a honey glaze and was a very big portion. Downfall was the mains as you designed your pizza yourself from a list of toppings. I don't like this idea - would rather the chef use his expertise and create a pizza menu. Staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive. Restaurant is nicely decorated and had a lovely ambiance.

Eddie Rockets (Walkinstown)
Lidl Shopping Centre, Walkinstown Avenue, Dublin 12, Walkinstown, Dublin

Never thought that I'd say I got good value in Eddie Rocket's but a burger, fries and coke for a tenner is ok in my book. Only complaint is that it took a while for order to arrive and I was practically salivating. Had burger with jalapenos, sour cream etc. Delicious. My mouth was tingling after it. Friend had veggie burger which got thumbs up. Would have preferred not to see member of staff sneezing in to his hand. Well, would have preferred to see him go wash his hands afterwards, rather than wipe them on a tissue...
