Amuse Restaurant
22 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

I visited this restaurant with 3 friends last Saturday and wanted to share our experience. We had reviewed the restaurants web site and seen the set dinner menus for €34 for 2 courses and €39 for 3 courses. This seemed very reasonable to us. However when we arrived we were greeted with a tasting menu €65 for 5 courses which was the cheapest option, there was no other menu available (except 10 course tasting menu). Also the first 3 course on this tasting menu were fish, so if fish is not your thing the lack of choice is really going to put a dent in your evening. So please check before hand what menus are on offer and what choices there are. Otherwise service was lovely (though accents very hard to understand) and food was as you would expect for this type of restaurant. If we had known in advance what to expect it would have been a much more enjoyable evening.

The Mint Leaf Swords

Fillet steak on stone for €18 was great value. Nice service. Quiet though as it was mid week in Jan.

Koh
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

I went wiht a friend last sat. We were in the lounge. I found it incredibly dark for eating. I saw one couple looking at food with a light on their phone. Also music in Lounge eating area was a bit loud for conversation, overall more suited to a gang on a night out then having a chat over dinner. Otherwise all OK.

Raffs on the Corner
65/67 Church Street, North Co. Dublin, Skerries, Dublin

I was so disappointed. Booked for a wed, the restaurant was not open and we were seated in the bar complete with bright lights and large screen projection. Not the atmosphere I'd been hoping for. Nachos to share for starters were excellent and the highlight of the evening. We both went for Rare steak and while it wasn't overcooked it was somewhat dry and under seasoned reminding me of liver! sauteed potatoes and chips were on soggy side, like oil wasn't hot enough and the Croquet potato was a soggy mess. Mushroom and tomato were nice. I think I may feel more forgiving about the food if we had been sitting at a nice candlelit table. But I will not be going back and this is by far the worst review I have given :-(

Red Torch Ginger
14/ 15 Andrew Street , Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Great food, Tom Yum soup was just as I remembered it. Sea bass cooked lovely, though soy sauce made it a bit salty for my taste. desserts looked fab if only I'd any room left!

Corfu Greek Restaurant
12 Parliment Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Lovely little restaurant, great atmosphere and value. Lovely staff. Food is hearty and rustic, lamb chops were delicious. Deducting points as I tried 2 different glasses of red wine and neither were nice. Not corked but not anything I'd like to drink again. Which was a shame as a nice red would have been lovely with my chops. :-)

Giovanni’s Pizzeria Restaurant
3-4 Townyard Lane, Malahide, Dublin

I had dinner here wiht my sisters last week. What I love about this restaurant is the rustic atmosphere. There's a real feel of it being a family run place. All the food was delicious. especially the rack of lamb (6! cutlets). Of course they did a doggy bag for me. :-) And the staff are really great. I will be going back and no doubt I will order the lamb AGAIN!

The Brick House

KC Peaches Wine Cave Nassau St
28-29 Nassau St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I dined here recently on a sat night with 3 others. Everyone enjoyed the food. Service was great and it was super value as we had a menupages voucher. The main negative for us was the guy playing guitar, not that he wasn't talented but it was too loud for a restaurant even though we were not sitting near him. Maybe if he was unplugged?

Cleaver East By Oliver Dunne
6-8 East Essex Street, , Temple Bar, Dublin 2 , Temple Bar, Dublin

Had a delicious meal here on Sat night. 2nd visit so I knew what to expect. For those of you who love a buffet so you get to taste a little of everything this is a great idea. We ordered 8 plates each in total (between 2 of us) and shared almost all of them, so I got to try lots. The lobster dumpling with those mushrooms in that lemon broth was fantastic (part of the reason I went back) and my new favorite...the pannacotta dessert. YUMMY! The only negative for me was where we were sitting, this time we were under a speaker so the hideous drum and bass musiic was really loud. (I like metal music so I am not adverse to loud, just not when I'm trying to chat over dinner!) also again this particular table was very close to it's neighbour. In hindsight I should have just asked for another table. Still overall a lovely evening and will go back.

Chameleon Restaurant
1 Lower Fownes Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

What a quirky, fabulous restaurant. Atmosphere is off the scale! If you are looking for something a little different, this place cannot fail to impress friends. Top floor is definitely my favorite - even without the holes under the cushion tables. :-) Menu is like a tasting menu, you can all share (except for the fish in the banana leaf...that's mine. ALL MINE! And as for the cushion tables you never want to leave, so comfy! Don't try eating "at" the table. Stick your plate on your lap...much easier! Staff were excellent as always, so nice and helpful. I will definitely be back.

The Dog House Blue's Tea Room
The Dart Station, Howth, Dublin

I had the best chocolate Brownie ever in the Dog House last night. Onion compote and grilled goats cheese was delicious. Decor did not disappoint. Prices VERY reasonable. The only negative is that the tables were really squashed together, thankfully there was no one sitting at the table to one side of us. If there had been it would have been like they had joined us for the evening.

What super value, what lovely food and what an excellent waiter! The service was what stood out and what will bring me back. (well that and the perfectly cooked rare fillet steak!)
