I go here reguarly after sampling their sushi in Georges street, we decided to go to the Quays for a change and we were well impressed with the freshness and speed of the food here. It is by far the best sushi intown. I have tried all the sushi places that exist as it is one of my favourite foods and Yamamori is always the top winner. So we make sure we go here every so often for our fix of sushi and as its reasonable, we can do it often enough. We also always get the squid tempura to start whilst waiting for our sushi and you owe it to yourself to try this. Straight hop from pan to your table in about 5mins flat every time. It's fab!!

Over rated and overpriced! Ate here for a friends birthday and heard good things about this place. We were a party of 8 and were seated upstairs near the door, this took away any atmosphere right away as we were getting every draft coming in from the door way and from people coming in and out, especially the smokers! I know it was no-ones fault but it did affect how comfortable we were for the rest of the evening. Just have to add aswell that the trip downstairs to the loo showed us a much more atmospheric and lively side of this place. Unfortunately we were not seated there and was cut away from this section. Anyway, got starters and was shocked to find out how much our kir royals cost (€15 each)... Anyway the starter was nice, nothing too special? Anyway the main of scallops was delish but there were only about 4 scallops on the plate so needless to say I was still hungry when I had finished! The bill came to €85 each which I thought was way overpriced.. We didnt get any desserts and we didnt drink that much wine either!! I wouldnt return back here as I do think it is way over rated and overpriced! There are so many other places you can have a much better meal (and come out full) for much much less with much better atmosphere.

Chapter One Restaurant
18/19 Parnell Square, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I have always wanted to try this place so reviewed their menus and made a booking for lunch. I arrived before my husband and the Maitre'D was very polite and attentive offering to take my coat and also offered me a drink while I waited. He was polite but very well humoured and conversation was not stuffy. I felt relaxed even though the place was packed with people and there was a lot of hustle bustle about the place. We were shown to our seats in an arch way to the side adn we loved it!! We just ordered the 3 course lunch for €36.5 which is brilliant value... In hindsight though we definately should have gone for the lunch tasting menu which was €46/48 I think? Anyway the smoked mackerel started was absolutely fabulous and came out like an oil painting.. We didnt want to eat it, it looked so pretty on the plate but once we did we ate the lot. My hubby doesnt like mackerel but we both loved it! We then both had pork cheek for mains and that was very well cooked too. We would definately be back again and again and so far this is our fav restaurant in Dublin for European food. We are planning our next visit after writing this review :)

The Birdcage Cafe
Avoca Rathcoole, Naas Road, Rathcoole, Dublin

I work close by so we always go here as a treat and a break from our normal canteen food in work. I love the salads, they are so fresh and bountiful with ingrediants and their hot specials with choice of 3 salads I order again and again. It is a half self service canteen style place with a lot of hustle and bustle in the place, It's casual dining. The only downside is that if you aer in a bigger group then it is very hard to have a proper conversation as decible levels aer quite high!!! It doesnt stop me from coming back though!

Seagrass of Portobello Bridge
30 South Richmond Street, Dublin 8, Portobello, Dublin

Went here for a lunch with a friend one Sunday. The place was empty so no atmosphere really. We had the set lunch menu which was limited but it's usually the case with set menus. Value was good, think it was 2 courses for €12 or €14? Anyway we bottle of rosé which was gorgeous, then I had the soup. Was not impressed with it, it tasted of a ridiculus amount fo rosemary, I was literally pickign it out of my teeth. Mains was the seafood pasta which was nice but one fo my muscles when I opened it was full of black sand which fell onto the dish so it was ineditable after that. Staff were so friendly and nice and offered me another mains so I went for the same one of my friend as she said the risotto was nice. It was lovely but after a few mouthfulls I found a hair in it!! Wasnt a good dining experience for me and I wouldn't go back there. :(

TriBeCa
65 Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin

Have eaten here a few times both with husband and the girls and liked it each time but this time I have to say, the food has really slipped. I usually always get the homemade ginger ale and I really like it. This time I got a glass of water with sugar and a hint of lemon - no taste of giner whatsoever? I had to return it and after telling the waitress that it tastedof nothing she said they'd make me a new one only stronger. New one came and it also tasted of nothing and when I said it to the waitress she told me it was homemade and may not taste like ginger ale? I promptly set her straight that I've gotten it at least 5 times and know what it tastes like. Anyway I didnt drink it. I had the mussels and of course the customary chicken wings. The chick wings have lost their flavour and fiery-ness. Their were meant to have chorizo in it but I didnt get the taste of it at all and got about a mm sized piece in at the end. I'm really dissappointed this time as I really liked the idea of having a nice eatery close to where I live but I dont think I will be going back? My hard earned cash deserves to go to better places!!!

Koh
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Went here for a birthday and really enjoyed it. It's a real hen and buzzy place so if it's romantic quiet evening you're after, this probably isnt the place? The decor is cool and trendy and the service was friendly and efficient. The food was delish but overpriced. My srter of belly pork in betel leaves was really to die for. I'll order a mains next time it was so good and really fun aswell as you're using your fingers and build your own little wrap from all the ingredients. Highly recommended!! The menu is exciting and enticing. I had the soft shell crab which I've always wanted to try but I'm not really into it? Much prefer hard shell crab but it was good to taste it. The curry I got it with was quite spicy but good and flavoursome.

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Had lunch here with a friend and it was lovely. The menu was nice, simple but enticing. The staff were friendly but the service was pretty neglected. We had to ask for the menus a few times after been left sitting looking around for about 10 minutes? Then we had to ask someone to take our orders. I didnt bother us too much as we werent in any rush on the day but if they tightened this up then it would be a good place all round. At the mement, it's good but falls down on,not service per say, but length and time taken to get service!

Diep le Shaker
55 Pembroke Lane, (Off Pembroke Street), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here for my birthday as I got a voucher and I was dying to try eating here as so many people rant and rave about it. I have no idea why though as I was highly dissappointed with the menu and also the prices and also the atmosphere. The menu was uninspiring and overpriced. My starter was nice, but under seasoned and my mains which was a pad thai (something they should bve abel to do very well as its such a basic dish) was oversalted and slightly goopey - rice noodles overdone? I wasn't able to eat it and was only able to manage a third of the portion given but was not asked if it was ok when the waiter took it away. It was obvious that it wasn't!! As it was b-day I didnt want to complain as it wasnt THAT bad, just dissappointing but will not be going back . The service was very good though. Very friendly staff.

Ming Court Chinese Restaurant
Unit 453 Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin

This is my favourite chinese restaurant and me being Asian I find good oriental restaurants hard to come by. This restauant is the sister place of the 'good world' on georges street but I wouldnt go in there anymore? Their standard has definitely dropped and the last few times I was there I had to send dishes back!! They got very sloppy. Anyway back to the Ming court.... I always get the authentic chinese menu and it is fantastic and very reasonable. You have to try some of the dishes here even if they sound a bit weird, they are to die for, trust me! When we go out for a family dinner, it is a no brainer where we go, it is just automatic. All the Asians go here so it is the ultimate compliment for an Oriental restaurant. Bon appetite!!

One Pico Restaurant
5-6 Molesworth Place, Schoolhouse Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

One Pico is definitely a place to go if you want to treat yourself, a real special occasion place as the price tag can get pretty big in here!! So, as you can imagine I was thrilled to learn of their new specials and early bird menus for 4 courses @ €45. Excellent value, food is really top notch. Everything is cooked to perfection so thumbs up from me. Will definitely availing of one of the early bird or lunch menus over the xmas...
