After reading the good reviews on menupages I decided to give this restaurant a try. I booked a table for 2 on Friday night. One of the good thing about this place was the service which was prompt, efficient and friendly. Good atmosphere as well with a jazz music in the background. Music was not too loud. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the chicken and ham hock terrine and my husband ordered the sauteed mushroom dish. Both starters were very salty but I would recommend the mushroom dish as it was better than the terrine. After that I had the salmon as the main and my husband had the lamb shank. The portions were very generous but i was a bit disappointed because my salmon was too fatty and the butter at the bottom of the plate made it worse. Lamb shank was good. To top that we shared a lemon tart which was also good. Overall it was a very good value meal with 3 courses at 22,50 euros and 2 courses for 18,50 euros. The service was first class but a bit let down on the food.

I was in Kinsale on easter sunday and i was looking for a place for dinner. After searching I decided to try the Vista restaurant. The 3 of us got a table near the windows downstairs and we had a nice view. It was a cloudy day but we enjoyed looking at the boats. We all got the early bird value priced at 19,50 EUR for 2 courses. There was a choice of soup or homemade pate for starters but we all decided to go for the main course and dessert. 2 of us ordered the salmon which was served with smashed potatoes, grilled vegetables and a tartare sauce. The salmon was moist and was very good. One of us had the sirloin steak served with pepper sauce and it looked good too. For dessert 2 got the chocolate brownie served with rapsberry sauce and i picked the apple pie. All the desserts were served with cream but i would have liked some ice cream with my apple pie. The service was great and the waitress stopped by to ask us how everything was. After a cloudy and rainy day sightseeing, we were happy we chose this restaurant as we truly enjoyed the evening.

I came here last week with my own menupages voucher. On that Friday night, the restaurant was only half empty and we got to choose between 2 tables. We picked the one by the window. The service was great and the waitresses here are very friendly. For starter I had a chicken walnut salad which was huge. The menu said it was served with mustard dressing but it tasted more mayonnaise to me. The chicken wasn't grilled but were pan fried. I enjoy nonetheless. My hubby chose a goat cheese which had tomatoes and onions confit. For main it was the indian green curry with plenty of chicken chunks. It was served with small nan bread and steamed rice. I liked the flavour. We were so stuffed by the end of that but we managed to try their famous dessert the Knickerbockerglory. For those who doesn't know it's served in a tall glass with jelly on the bottom, some mixed berries top up with 3 scoops of ice cream and finish up with whipped cream. Dessert was great and we will be back to try it.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen - GBK (South William Street)
14 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I went here on a friday night with a group of friends. The place got quickly packed after we arrived. Service was a bit slow and we had to wait a bit before someone came to take our order. I ordered an oreo milkshake which was creamy and had pieces of cookies. I also had a moroccan salad which was couscous, cos lettuce, grilled chicken and served with olive oil dressing and lemon. The others ordered Habanero burgers and the avocado and bacon burgers. As usual everyone enjoy the meal and it as unbelievably good value with the 2 for 1 voucher.

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I was here on a wednesday night with a menupage voucher for a free main course. On a weekday the place was pretty quiet. We got a table in the back. I asked the waitress if i could order any main course on the menu but she didn't know. She spent a while talking on the phone and then after that she got back and said that we could order anything except for the fillet steak. Also it was not possible to use the voucher and order the pre-theatre menu. We ended up ordering the rib eye steak and the duck confit pizza because it sounded original. The steak was served with a small bucket of fries, and peppercorn sauce. The steak was served medium rare but to me it wasn't very tender. I had better steak. The pizza was bland with pieces of duck confit and sweet red onions. Overall I was disappointed by the whole experience, and the food wasn't that great. I won't be back anytime soon.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK South Anne Street)
5 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

It stopped here on a sunday lunch to try the falafel burger. I was meant to try it for a while but never get to it as i keep ordering the habanero every single time. Falafel burger had lots of chunks of falafel, houmous, salad and tomatoes with a sweet relish sauce. It was good. The service was very slow that day but it's still one of the good value eats so i didn't mind the wait.

Chameleon Restaurant
1 Lower Fownes Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Had dinner here with a group of friends here. It was my second time so i already knew about the rijst style menu. We ordered a combination of meat, vegetarian and seafood menu. There was plenty of food to share and everyone was pleased. I tried a bit of everything but to me the shrimp dish was outstanding. I think it was called Sambal Udong and it was succulent. We had a great evening and i recommend it.

I stopped here for a quick bite on a friday night before heading to te movie. We were lucky and got a table outside. We ordered a habanero burger and a chorizo burger which were very good. We also shared a portion of fries and a large coke. This is a very good value place to eat with all the vouchers you can get from their website.

DIG IN
19 Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

Decided to give this place a try after reading all the good reviews. We were promptly seated and there was no wait for table. We had a table in the back near the open plan kitchen. The menu list wasn't long so we settled for the confit duck and the pork belly dish. Both were very good. I stole a bite of the confit duck and to my surprise it wasn't too salty which is great. Most duck confits served in other restaurants are usully very salty. I had the pork belly served with chorizo beans and cabage. I really love the cabage which tasted fresh and crunchy but wasn't overcooked. The pork rind was deep fried and was served with the dish but it was a bit hard. Overall the food was great and it was good value with all dished costing only 10 euros. Will come back to try other dishes.

Milano (Baggot Street)
1 - 2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, City Centre South, Dublin

I've been to several Milano but it's was a first time here. Great atmosphere and service. I ordered a large thin Al Tirolo pizza with different types of mushroom, speck ham and some creamy cheese. It was good. The portion was just right. My hubby ordered the etna pizza but there wasn't much going on there. Overall food was good.

Milano (Grand Canal Harbour)
Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

I went to this Milano outlet with a voucher 2 mains for 15. I've been trying many Milano restaurant with the vouchers and it make it good value. I had a calabrese pizza over here. It's a square pizza with fresh mozarella cheese, italian sausages, spicy green and red peppers topped with a bit of watercress salad. To me that's one of their best pizza. My friend and i had a seat right behind the door. It didn't bother us much because the weather was nice the day we were there. The service was ok but nothing exceptional.

Milano (Temple Bar)
19 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Stopped here for a dinner on a weekday. I ordered the funghi pasta dish wich i haven't had for a while. I was disappointed as there were more mushrooms and less truffles. I remember the dish i had few months ago tasted much better. My friend had the square pizza filled with spicy sausages, pepperoni, chilies. At the end of the meal the waitress overcharged us for something we didn't order but we mentionned that to us and she corrected it quickly.

The Church Cafe Bar & Restaurant
Junction of Mary St. & Jervis St., Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I stop here for a bite on Friday evening because I had a 2 for 1 voucher. When entering the bar i noticed nearly all tables were already reserved. We managed to find a small table in a corner. The place looked pretty busy at 18:30. I ordered a burger and it was quickly served. The fries that come with it were too dry and the side salad wasn't fresh. My hubby had the noodle dish with duck. It didn't taste very good. I problaby won't be rushing back.

Sabai
19 The Mall, Waterford City, Waterford

I was in Waterford during the easter weekend so I stop here for lunch. There were 3 of us and when we arrived around half noon, the place was empty. We sat downstairs and the room was small but nicely decorated. We all went for the lunch set menu which was 2 courses for 14,95. I started with the spring rolls served with a sweet chili sauce. The other had the vietnamese salad which was huge and then the chicken satay. The salad was huge and had large prawns and chicken. I tried a bite of the salad and it tasted more thai/lao than vietnamese but everything was good. I followed with a shrimp pad thai and it tasted great. The seasoning was just right. I was really surprised by the food and overall I though it was a good value.

Ukiyo
7-9 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I was looking for a place to eat on an early sunday lunch. Lots of places were closed and it seems there was a power shortage affecting few stores also. We ended up for a bento box at ukiyo. The place was very quiet and we were the first customers. We were promptly served our miso which was good but a bit salty. Then after that the bento box arrived with tempura haddock, prawn sushi, stir fry chicken dish, some salad and a bowl of rice. As usual it was a good value meal. The waitress was friendly and service was fast.

The Porterhouse (North )
Cross Guns Bridge, Glasnevin, Dublin

My friend and I were on the way to the botanic garden and decided to stop at the Porterhouse for a quick bite. To me this place serves the best pizza and i always order that when i eat here. We sat downstairs because the room upstairs was close. One of us ordered a burger and the rest of us had pizzas. The burger was served with chunky chips and my friend barely managed to finish up his plate. I had the pizza with pepperoni and jalapenos which was spicy. 2 of my friends ordered the pizza with italian ham. All the pizzas were huge and well garnished. I didn't finish my pizza so i asked for a box to take it away. It took a bit of time to get a beer that one of us ordered but that's the only negative point. I know i will be back for the great pizzas.

Le Bon Crubeen
81-82 Talbot Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I visited this restaurant on a saturday night and the place was packed. We got a table in the small room whitout great atmosphere but it was secluded so perfect for anyone wanting a private table. However my friends didn't mind so we settled and ordered food and wine. We all had the sirloin steaks with the fries and washed it down with a great bottle of St Emilio wine. I was disappointed because last time i ordered the steak it was much better than this evening. The wine on te other hand was sublime. We were all stuffed so no one ordered any dessert. Overall it was good value but the wine was a bit expensive.

Milano (Dawson Street)
38 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

After a walk in Stephen Green I decided to stop here for a late lunch on Sunday. When entering the restaurant I noticed lots of buggies at the entrance. There was a real family vibe to the place. My friend and I got a table straight away. This was my second time here and i knew exactly what i wanted. I went for the Tagliolini Funghi and it was as good as the first time. Even if the pasta was served with a white sauce it wasn't that heavy. I usually avoid to order pasta with a white sauce but i really enjoyed this dish at Milano. This time the service wasn't great and we waited for ever for the bill as the waiter seemed more busy waiting on other table. Apart from that the food was great.

Odessa
13 Dame Court, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

I headed there for a night out with a friend. Instead of going to the restaurant we went straight to the bar next door but as we climbed the stairs we were told it was members only. As we were soaked by the heavy rain that evening they let us stay and have dinner at the bar. The bar was very quiet and it was great to have dinner there as we were able to discuss. I ordered from the early bird while she had a veggie burger. I started with a chorizo salad which was made of green salad, chorizo and chickpeas. It was then followed up with a confit duck served with potatoes and green vegetables. My friend really enjoyed her burger served with chunky chips. At the end of the meal we decided to order the trifle dessert and i have to say that was disappointing. Overall we had a great evening but next time i will order different dessert.
