Another great Indian Restaurant with their own little twists on traditional Indian recipes. The quality of food here is great and generally it is easy to get a table. The place is nicely hidden at the back of the Mill House in Stillorgan. Food always good, value good and nice decor. The only let down is they don't really cater for children. The fact that they only have one baby chair says to me that they don't really want to either. It's unfortunate as the place is great but it counts us out for Sunday dinners. The Indian Summer is a great place and the service is always with a smile and very efficient. The manager in particular is a very pleasant fellow that always tries to accommodate.

Great for Children. We use this a lot solely as there is a very good childrens play area and the kids can play away while we eat. The food is good and the value very good. However for some strange reason the tables in the childrens area are only available Fri, Sat and Sun which makes eating there during the week a No Go for us as the children will insist on running into the toys but we then have to constantly get up and down from our meal to keep an eye on them. For this reason we will only go there on weekends. They are very good at marketing and continue to send us details of thier special offers but until they change the policy regarding seating in the childrens area they will not get our mid week business.

Shanahan’s on the Green
119 St. Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

I tend to visit Shanahans only two / three times a year and one of these occasions is always at Christmas when a gang of us get together for our annual Christmas Lunch. Since 2004 this has been in Shanahans. I retuned there in October for a meal with my wife and as usual the food was fantastic. The bread at the start, the onion rings and the steaks are always great. However they really need to cop on with the prices and realise that when every other restaurant in the country is fighting for business they cannot continue charging exorbitant prices for a steak, regardless of how good it is. There are several other establishments close by with quality exceptional quality steak at half the price of Shanahans. I had assumed that they would have reduced prices but was amazed to still see starters at €20 plus and an 8 oz Steak at almost €50. This is before ordering any additional rings etc!! I will admit the food is great but no greater then several other city centre restaurants. Needless to say we have decided to move the party of 16‘s Christmas Lunch to another venue in Dublin 2 who are offering some value and trying to entice people into the restaurant. Shanahans, great grub but please cop on! It may explain why the restaurant was almost empty the night we attended.

The Yellow House
1 Willbrook Road, Rathfarnham, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Despite previous comments I was here last night and had a fantastic steak. It is after all called The Steak House. My wife had the Duck which she enjoyed. Decor a bit 70's but great pub downstairs, restaurant very clean, service quick and waitress was great craic. I’d say they do what they intend to do well, and that is cater for the Rathfarnham local for a casual local night out. P.S Don’t forget the steak!

Millers Pizza Kitchens
50 Upper Baggot Street, Dublin 4, City Centre South, Dublin

This has to be the best Pizza in Dublin. Great for lunch or a early dinner meal before going out on the town. Very casual and fantastic pizza. The garlic bread starter is also very nice. I realy like this place.

Rasam
18-19 Glasthule Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

What a great place. My wife and I have eaten here several times over the past few months and have always had a great meal. The pub linked to the restaurant has a great outdoor bar and terrace area and makes a great spot for a pre-dinner or post dinner drink (or both)! I love Indian food and this is the best quality I have found on the Southside. Rasam's menu is slightly unusual and if, like me, you are not a very adventurous eater can be a little scary. However tell the waiter want you want and you will not be disappointed. All recommendations to date have been very successful. I love this place. P.S They also have a great Wine List

La Dolce Vita - The Chase
Carmanhall Road, Dublin 18, Sandyford, Dublin

I have visited this resturant a lot with my family few years and find it very consistant good quality food at very good prices. As opposed to a previous reviewer I find the size of the resturant makes it a lively chatty place with a very good atmosphere. Service is always efficent and with a smile. They have a very good children's menu and their daily specials are always good.

Chrysanthemum Chinese Restaurant
Unit 1 Old Orchard Inn, Butterfield Ave, Dublin 14, Rathfarnham, Dublin

I agree with previous comments made. We use this restaurant a lot (very good for kids) as it is handy, we like the food and it is not bad value. However with the exception of the manager, the service is very volatile. Some waiters are great however if you are unlucky enough to get one of the lads that obviously hate their jobs you are in for a wait and quite rude service. I find it quite frustrating at times as we are in this restaurant at least once every two weeks. Unfortunately it is only the two or three very very very bad waiters that let this place down, as the decor, food and price are all great. But as the service is at the heart of the meal if, as a previous reviewer mentioned, it is your first visit and you get the bad service I fully understand why you would not come back!
