Plan B restaurant
Manor Place, Stoneybatter, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 7
Reviewed 07th October 2008 ( visited 26th September 2008 )Great place! Lovely food, great choice (lots of vegetarian options on specials menu which is a nice change), friendly efficient service. Can't praise it enough. Make sure to book though as there are only nine or ten tables! Will be back asap!
Pizza Hut restaurant
24 Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 06th June 2008 ( visited 15th March 2008 )This place is ok if you're stuck. The few times I've been the service hasn't been great, and I felt the food was overpriced. But there is a decent variety (has more than pizza) and you could do worse for a bite in town.

Mexico to Rome
23 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Really enjoyed my meal here. Lovely waitress and even lovelier food! Early bird is great value. The idea of having Mexican and Italian food in the same place is something of a heaven for me! I'll definitely be back!

Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin
Ok, I'm updating my review for this place. I went for lunch about a month ago and it was FLAWLESS, really fantastic food, service and atmosphere. As I was so impressed with the lunch, I decided to try it out for dinner, and took my parents there last week. I'm assuming Cactus Jacks have different providers or chefs for dinnertime. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived even though we booked a week in advance. Between starters, main courses, and desserts we ordered six meals between us and three of the meals we recieved were incorrect. My mum got the a vegetarian option of what she ordered, instead of the prawn version which she asked for. Both my parents recieved the wrong desserts. Now, the staff were very apologetic and corrected the meals very quickly, however it was disappointing to recieve three things we did not order. The food we ate was nice, but nowhere near as good as the delicious meals on the lunch menu. The veggie enchilada I had for lunch was ten times better and fresher than the veggie enchilada I had for dinner. Maybe this is just a coincedence, but I would be interested to know if there is a change of hands in Cactus Jacks between lunch and dinner. I was really looking forward to my meal as it was my mum's birthday and I had recieved some bad news that day and was really looking forward to the same lovely food I had for lunch but sadly this was not the case at all.
12 Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Probably my favourite restaurant in Dublin. The value is just excellent, especially at lunchtime where you can get a starter and main course for 13 (I think?) euro. Even in the evening - 3 euro for tasty garlic bread! Fantastic considering Dublin's prices. There is nice diversity on the menu so even people who aren't crazy about Italian food can still enjoy a great meal here. The ingredients are always so fresh and every dish I have tried here has left me eagerly awaiting my next visit. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, too, usually quite busy but the staff are always friendly and attentive. My only complaint about them is that they are almost too efficient! The food comes in under five minutes, which is great if you're after a cheap lunch, but, crazy as it sounds, if you're looking for a nice long leisurely dinner it's like you hardly have time to breathe between ordering and eating! A good choice for families with impatient kids! ;) My only complaint about the food itself is that main course portions are sort of inconsistent. I usually have the pasta napoletana, which is unfortunately always served in a very small portion. How annoying it is to see the people I am dining with get much bigger portions of their other pasta dishes! I don't see any reason for this and wish Romano's would sort it out! Still, again, small complaint and overall I feel Ristorante Romano is one of the best in the city.
Hanlon's Bar Restaurant and Club
189 North Circular Rd, Dublin 7, Cabra, Dublin
Mixed ideas about this place. VERY slow service - you have been warned! Often lacking in atmosphere. The spinach and ricotta tortellini they used to serve was excellent, for some reason it's not on the menu anymore :( Shame, as it was top notch. I then went for the other vegetarian option - the vegetable fajitas, which were very disappointing, essentially just mushrooms in mushroom sauce - awful. However on my most recent trip, I tried the margharetia pizza and it was lovely. I've also heard the steak they serve and the Hanlon's club sandwich is nice. So I guess it depends what you have! All in all a good place for dinner - if you're prepared to wait 30 minutes.
Unit 19 Epicurean Food Hall, Liffey Street Lower, City Centre North, Dublin
I honestly can't review this place without my mouth watering! I love it so much! The only downside is the location in the Food Hall - which is a great place, but often crowded and atmosphere could be better. Not the best place for a leisurely lunch and a chat but what the hall lacks in atmosphere, this Mexican place makes up for in quality! Truly fantastic food with fresh ingredients, excellent prices, and friendly staff. The portions are small enough to have for lunch but are filling enough to be a main meal, you may think ''how is that possible'' but it's really true! As I am vegetarian I have only tried the vegetarian options (my favourite being the DIVINE enchiladas) but I trust the meat-filled options are of a similarly high standard. I can't rate this place enough, honestly, if it was in a building of it's own with nice decor and location etc it would be regarded as one of the best in the city.
