Anvil Bistro Restaurant
Saggart Village, Dublin 22, Saggart, Dublin

This is one of my favourite restaurants and my visit today did not disappoint. The food and service were excellent as usual. It is a pity they do not do a set lunch menu. I feel the Early Bird and set Dinner Menu are great value but the lunch can work out quite expensive in comparison.

Browns Barn Bar and Kitchen
Citywest Exit, Citywest Bridge N7, West Dublin, Saggart, Dublin

This is one of my favourite places. Dined here recently with a friend and although using one of these special daily offer vouchers was treated like a full paying customer. No problem booking, great food, great service, decent size portions and no subsidies. Well worth a visit.

Joels Restaurant
Newlands Cross, Naas Road, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

Having recently purchased a Dealrush voucher for Joels decided to treat my son to lunch. While the food and service were OK the place needs a good cleaning and facelift. Huge cobwebs hanging from the inside tops of windows, carpet well trodden. While it was early after lunch there were only about 20 other diners. Charged 2 Euro supplement for steak even though bill totaled 30,80 and voucher valued at 34.40. A pity to leave a sour taste for the sake of 2 Euro. Overall very disappointing.

The Birdcage Cafe
Avoca Rathcoole, Naas Road, Rathcoole, Dublin

I always enjoy a visit to any of the Avoca restaurants and my visit to The Birdcage Cafe did not disappoint. Good healthy wholesome food. I had the special offer of a cup of soup and three salads. Decent size portions and the salads, of which is there a great selection were delicious. A bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Would definitely recommend a visit.

The Old Orchard Inn
76 Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham, Rathfarnham, Dublin

The last few days being so nice and being local I had lunch here with a friend on Friday and my son on Saturday of this week. Their beer garden is really nice to dine out in. For the most part the staff are friendly but service can be slow. My son had the steak sandwich which had lots of fillings but not too generous with the steak, which was disappointing. I had the Boston Prawn open sandwich both days and this was good. In general it is a bit expensive in comparison to many other restaurants in very close proximity. It would be nice to see them doing a set lunch menu at a reasonable price just as the other restaurants are doing.

il Divo Restaurant
2 Terenure Road East, (Above Comans), Rathgar, Dublin

I had a voucher to the value of 40 Euro which I had received for my birthday. I am shocked to see this indicated as a reasonable place to eat. It was very quiet on the night, just nine other diners. Our waiter was friendly, the food excellent and presented beautifully but it certainly is NOT reasonable. With one of us driving I had a half carafe of house red which was really good while my partner just had one glass of orange and we shared a bottle of sparking water. For two starters, mains and desserts, (none of which were not the most expensive on the menu) and one cappuccino I had to add 49.70 plus a tip. Very, very expensive!!!

Riverbank House Hotel
The Bridge, Wexford, Wexford Town, Wexford

While enjoying a great value overnight stay here with a friend we dined in the restaurant. While it is more of a bar restaurant it was still good and in general the place has a nice warm atmosphere. Staff were friendly and the food was good. We were lucky to get a table by the window with lovely views out towards the bridge, the waitress said that when available they always offer these tables first as diners love the view. On checking out the next day the girl at reception gave us two bottles of mineral water for our journey home. Nice little touch especially as we had used a voucher offer of only 55 Euro for an overnight stay for two people.

Little Caesars of Rathfarnham
Rathfarnham Orchard, Butterfield Ave, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Had lunch here on Friday last. As a local I lunch here regularly. Staff friendly, the atmosphere is good and the early bird and lunch specials are excellent value. A recent reviewer said the portions are small and they would have rather paid more for bigger portions. It is still possible to order from the regular menu and get bigger portions, at of course, a bigger price - but still good value. If there was one thing I wish they would change, that's the music. It would be so much more appropriate to have easy listening and popular Italian style music, e.g. Dean Martin etc..
