What a disaster! When the chef doesn't know how to cook their recipes i.e. potatoes in the hueovo rancheros and they've no bread for French toast or bananas to accompany the pancakes it is time to leave, what a disappointment . The worst part was the poor attitude of the manager. Not a patch on the Malahide one. Shame.

Marco Pierre White Courtyard Bar & Grill
1 Belmont Ave, Dublin 4, Donnybrook, Dublin

This has got to be the best meal I've eaten in a very long time. I ordered fillet steak with béarnaise sauce and triple cooked chips and every mouthful was absolutely delicious. The sauce was so amazing I asked for extra which arrived almost immediately. The service was excellent and so friendly without being annoying. The whole restaurant is so comfortable and beautiful. I'll be going back very soon.

The Cookbook Cafe
57a Glasthule Rd, Glasthule, Sandycove, Dublin

I just love, love, love this place. I had the most delicious meal there yesterday - falafels and hummus and beetroot relish........ Everything was so tasty and well-prepared. My fellow diner had the perfect omelette. Can't wait to go back. Well done guys.

Blue Ginger Cafe
5 Upp George's St, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

This was my fourth time to this café - I'd usually have something wrong with it by now but it's cheap and cheerful eatery, no frills. Tasty grub and the best breakfast in town.

Rasam
18-19 Glasthule Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Always enjoy visits to Rasam and delighted to see they have not dropped their standards, if anything they have got better. Tried the vegetarian platter though not a vegetarian and absolutely loved it - with the kind and helpful service and advice of the wonderful staff.

Akash Indian Restaurant
7 Georges Ave, South Co. Dublin, Blackrock, Dublin

I had liked this place in the past and went back with a friend. We ordered starters and mains, our starters arrived without a dip/sauce and when I asked about one I was told we could have the dip from our poppadums....My chicken in the main was inedible and I left it and when it was cleared away nothing was said. The meal was not cheap which added to the disapoinment. Will not be returning there.

Eddie Rockets (Blackrock)
Main Street, Blackrock, Blackrock, Dublin

A reliable diner with great food but why so expensive when you can get 3 course meals for the same price in restaurants nowadays. The service was friendly and helpful.

The Eagle House
18 Glasthule Road, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Very disappointing meal here on Friday, we both ordered steaks and I had to return mine as it was no where near what I'd asked for - this was not appreciated and I was made to feel very bad - only felt guilty for a minute as what returned was not much better. The steak was over done and tasteless.

The Club Bar
17 Colliemore Road, South Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin

Ate here last night for the first time - great varied menu. Veggie quesidillas were really tasty with a guacamole dip on the side which was lovely. The chiken tenders were really good. Service was good and friendly and the meal was really good value.

Cavistons Seafood Restaurant
59 Glasthule Road, Glenageary, South Co. Dublin, Sandycove, Dublin

First time to try this restaurant and as I'm not a huge fish lover was just going along for the celebration of a friends birthday. What a great little place - and it doesn't stink of fish like I'd imagined. It's comfortable and the service was friendly. I had the Cod which was mild and really flavoursome accompanied by a lovely salad and potatoes. The wine choice was alright if a bit pricey.

Jaipur Restaurant (Dalkey)
21 Castle Street, South Co. Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin

Haven't been here in ages and returned recently for a birthday celebration. Food is still excellent and the waiter was so helpful with us so we could choose the right meals. the starters were so tasty with lots of choice and the mains out of this world. It's a bit pricy for this climate so wouldn't be eating there too often.

The new Early Bird in Rasam is absolutely great tasting and great value. Lots to choose from and decent portions. The service as always was excellent!

The Hen House
The Pavilions, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

What a huge disappointment our return visit to The Hen House was today for lunch. Myself and my friend both ordered starters which arrived promptly however my friend's toast which accompanied her terrine was inedible as it was so hard, so she politely asked for it to be changed. It never arrived and she therefore had to finish her meal without it. On paying we explained this to the cashier who responded by stopping the waiter and questioning him who explained that he had brought it back to the kitchen. We then asked if our bill could be revised to reflect the error and was given a euro discount.....ridiculous. Don't think I'll be returning there any time soon.

Baan Thai (Leopardstown)
Central Park, Block P, Dublin 18, Leopardstown, Dublin

As a regular at this place I brought some virgin diners who all enjoyed themselves and we all found the early bird menu fabulous, great value and choice with unusually big portions. The service is excellent.

The Queens Bar & Steakroom

Great place to have a family meal. Lots of choice on the Menu - great for fish lovers. Welcoming to children. House white wine is lovely.

Bits and Pizzas
15 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I think Bits and Pizzas are back up to their old high standards. I used the Menupages voucher and we had a really great meal - the Sicilian Pizza is just delicious. The service is really great and the staff are so friendly.

Cafe 31
Old Bray Road, Cabinteely, Dublin

This was my fourth visit to 31, and it delivered yet again. Myself and my dinner guest both had one of the best meals ever. The Rib-eye steak could not have been better, served with all the appropriate sides in good time after a delicious chicken liver pate. It is a friendly buzzy place but best of all great value.

The nearest I've had to perfection!!! The food was absolutely delicious and a fabulaous choice - basically any which way you want it. The quality of the food was great and the service friendly and quick. Can't wait to go back.

Giddy Goose Cafe
138-139 Lower George's Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

This place has been on our list of places to go for lunch for some time and today we made it. Unfortunately it was a great disappointment as there was very little to choose from once I'd eliminated the sad looking food that was dumped in the front fridge. The service, once we'd ordered was very slow though the staff were polkite. The food very disappointing - a cheese and ham panini with barely half a slice of ham and some grated cheese. The salad I was promised was but a garnish. During this time a man was plastering the door - not great - but when he took out his hoover which was stinking it was time to go - and not come back.

harbor bar and grill
dun laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

This place has just a great make-over but fortunatley kept the essence of their fab menu. I had the best cajun chicken in town succulent and tender, however, I won't be able to have it that often as the service though great is just too slow for this working women. This is so disappointing as it's a comfortable place to sit, eat and chat, wit lots of variety on the menu which was so well presented and delicious.

Alexis Bar And Grill
17 / 18 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Alexis has been on my list of places to eat in the evening for a while to experience their new-look which is great, unfortunately the menu didn't live up to expectations. The choice was very limited though did cover all bases - vegetarian, fish and meat. We all ended up having two starters enjoying the lovely pate for our mains. The service was adequate and the bill was reasonable but the whole experience was just missing something and felt very bland.

Le Petit Cochon
Glasthule Road, Sandycove, Dublin

Yummy!!! In this climate where restuarants are empty and the quality of food is less than perfect it is fabulous to go to a restaurant with a great atmosphere, excellent service and the most amazing food and wine. I had the most delicious chicken ever, served with lots of vegetables and jus-not your usual veg but butternut squash served two ways and the green veg - spinach and french beans served with almonds. My companion was as happy with her fish as I was with my meal. Absolutely worth a visit.

Just what Dun Laoghaire needs - something really different, the food is reall tasty, lots to choose from. Starters absolutely fantastic. Best pizza I've had in ages. Only problen is that it's really quite noisey.
