L Mulligan Grocer
18 Stoneybatter, Stoneybatter, Dublin
All round brilliant place! Not your average pub at all! They bought this pub, removed all the TVs, replaced all the commercial beer taps with hundreds of craft beers and whiskeys, and gave it a lots of neat little quirks - like your menu inside a novel. The food was incredible, and i know all the staff are v friendly, but also v good at their job as my friend used to work there. A joy!

Bombay Pantry Ashtown
Unit 6, Rathbourne Village, Ashtown, Dublin
Ordered take away from here when visiting a friend in Ashtown. I had heard that it was good and it didn't disappoint. The open kitchen is cool too so you can see the cooks in action. Definitely one of the better Indian take-aways in this area of Dubin. Would recommend. Just so you know - be sure to specify if you don't like it spicy.
Mix Asian Fusion Restaurant
Unit 7, First Floor, Corballis Shopping Centre, Ratoath, Meath
Although this place has funky decor and looks ok, our food was dintinctly average and uninspiring. Even the wine wasn't great. The service was fine but i just got the vibe that their buying cheap food for their ingredients.

The Bull & Castle and F.X. Buckley Steakhouse
5-7 Lord Edward Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8, City Centre South, Dublin
Went here with some work friends. As usual here, the steak was outstanding and I stuffed myself like a pig. The rest of the group did the same. The meat here is just great and the early bird and the value menu have some very good deals. On a side note, we later had a platter upstairs in the beer hall, which was nothing compared to the restaurant food. Avoid the platter, it's just awful food they serve to the ppl drinking upstairs. Eat downstairs for the real treat ;-)

Wagamama's Blanchardstown
Unit 410, First Floor, Blanchardstown Retail Park 2, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin
Visited this place after work one evening with a few colleagues. It was quite a let down. The tables and benches reminded me of my school cafeteria so that wasn't a good start. I'm a tall guy so sitting on a chair without a back isn't good for any length of time. The menu was tiny, and the food was only ok. Won't be returning in a hurry.

Yamamori Noodles
71-72 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Visited this place on a Sat eve without a reservation and it was jammed as I expected. We had to wait about 15 mins for a table for two. The restaurant was full of yuppy types and had a lively buzz. The food and wine was enjoyable too but it was just a tad too busy to really be able to relax. They turn over a lot of tables in this place so just be aware if you're looking to relax on a Sat eve.

Julianos Italian Grill
Unit 1, High Street, Ashbourne Town Centre, Ashbourne, Meath
Went here to grab a bite one evening after work. Didn't know what to expect when we were the only people in the place. It was quiet and I don't even think they had music playing. My girlfriend though the decor was a bit clinical and bright but I thought it was fine - more like a diner than a restaurant. The waitress was lovely though, and the food was v fresh and well prepared by the chef - and at v good price. Seems to be a nice little place with a good menu and good prices, but is hidden away in a quiet part of the street. Well worth a visit.

Corks Cafe and Wine Bar
1 Hunters Court, Ashbourne, Meath
Took my brother and his wife here for breakfast when they were visiting from America. All I can say is wow! What an incredible full Irish they do here. Without doubt the best I've had in years. So tasty, and not a bit of grease or oil that you get in most places. They must be particular about the food they buy because it was amazing, cooked perfectly and actually seemed relatively healthy for a full Irish. Very nice little place with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back for another breakfast - please don't change a thing :).

LT Thai Cuisine
Unit 5, Bachelor's Walk, Ashbourne, Meath
I ordered take-away meal rather than having a sit-down meal here. I'm a big fan of Thai food and was delighted to see that this restaurant seems to be run by a Thai family. Mum and Dad are in the kitchen cooking with authentic Thai ingredients while the daughter handles the orders. It was one of the best Pad Thai's I've had in Ireland. The only down-side was that it was a little hard to chat to the Thai staff because of the strong Thai accent. That said, I managed to get my msg across easily and there were no mix-ups with the orders. It was funny to see their faces when I said "thank you" in Thai. They nearly fell over :).

Eatzen Ashbourne
U4 Building 3B, Ashbourne Town Centre, Ashbourne, Meath
We visited on a Saturday night. It had a good crowd, but not too packed. In typical Asian style, the restaurant was in immaculate condition and the staff were exceptionally accommodating. The food and wine was good, but we felt it was a tad overpriced.
La Bucca & Wine Bar
Corballis Demesne, Ratoath, Ratoath, Meath
From our experience, this restaurant looked the part, but we felt a little let down. We had heard great things so decided to visit on a weekday evening. Unfortunately for us, the place was crammed with post-communion families. The floor-staff were overworked, and were struggling to cater for the numbers in the restaurant. The noise of so many kids in the restaurant didn't help when trying to get the attention of staff. The pasta was actually good but the burger was quite mediocre.

Zorro Bistro Café Bar
Unit 4, The Village Centre, Ratoath, Ratoath, Meath

Cinnamon Garden Restaurant
Main Street, Ashbourne, Above Molly's Pub, Ashbourne, Meath
This restaurant is one of the best we know. Consistently excellent in all areas. The decor is just amazing, the staff are very professional and friendly and the chef is obviously very skilled. The food is so tasty, well seasoned and fresh, we regularly order take away and visit on special occasions. If you are like my boyfriend who doesn't like spicy food, make sure you ask for mild. They have a good deal on the set menu/early bird. €15 for main and a glass of wine, for example. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Thai Garden Restaurant (Galway)
Unit 2 Portmore Spanish Arch, Galway City, Galway
Pad Thai was delicious, and overall the restaurant was very nice, just like the sister restaurant in Blanchardstown, Dublin. Flambé duck with Thai spices was ok but not too exciting.

Thai Garden Restaurant
Church Avenue, Blanchardstown Village, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin
Consistently very good food and good service. We love their Pad Thai. Toilets are sparkling clean, which you don't see in every restaurant. The place is quite small but cosy.

Geisha Asian Restaurant (Ashtown)
73-74 Ashtown Village, Dublin 15, Ashtown, Dublin
We have visited this place a few times. We love the stylish interior. The food is nice, the sushi would be a massive hit if they avoided the mayonnaise. Curry and noodle dishes are tasty and generous portions. Friendly staff.

Thai Orchid (Navan)
Above The Diamond Cinema, Metges Lane, Off Kennedy Road, Navan, Meath
We've been here many times and never been let down. The food is consistently outstanding, good service and beautiful authentic Thai decor. The owner chatted to us and it turns our that every bit of furniture was shipped over from Thailand - impressive! They do great lunch deals during the day and also good set menu/early bird. The fish tank and a fish pond are also a nice touch. Our favorite dish is a duck with a soy sauce and honey, it's delicious. And of course a Pad Thai. We recommend this restaurant highly.

Zorro Bistro Café Bar
Unit 4, The Village Centre, Ratoath, Ratoath, Meath
Cute little restaurant with a cool bar in a corner. The music was upbeat salsa and really gave a nice atmosphere. But the real star of the restaurant is the owner Didi. We had two main courses (a steak with chips) and a glass of wine each for €25 in total. Great value. Some Fridays they have salsa dancing - professional dancers come to perform and you can dance after dining is finished. It's a great original idea and we will be back soon.

San Siro Restaurant
Broadmeadow Castle, Ashbourne, Meath
This restaurant looks lovely from the outside and the interior is also quite nice. However, the food is one of the worst we've ever had in a restaurant. We ordered a bruschetta and it was awful, saggy bread with some tomatoes, not even seasoned. The pizza was very basic, not restaurant standard, more like a cheap oven pizza. The pasta dish was again very bland and there was nothing to it. Neither of us finished our dishes. We were offered that the dish could be corrected by the chef but we rather declined. The waiter then brought us a complimentary tea and coffee. We like to dine and this restaurant is on our doorstep; however, we have not visited this restaurant since last year and would not recommend it. (Our visit was some time about a year ago).

Il Colosseo Italian Restaurant
Northgate Street, Athlone, Westmeath
As per the previous review, don't be put off by the exterior. The restaurant is situated above a pub but the interior is beautiful, there is an open kitchen (looking very clean and chefs professional) and a nice terrace. They have a special on most of the days during the week where you pay only €10 for a main course. This even includes some dishes that are normally priced twice as much. You can also bring your own wine for a corkage fee of €3. We opted for a fried brie as a starter to share and 2 pasta dishes for mains. 1. Rigatoni with prawns and porcini mushrooms in a creamy tomato sauce - this dish was delicious and the prawns were so tender and fresh and so were the mushrooms, pasta was cooked al dente. 2. Rigatoni with chicken and vegetables in a creamy tomato sauce in a closed focaccia bread- this was also a delicious and an interesting dish. The staff was professional and nice. We would definitely come back if we visit Athlone again.

Dragon Palace
Main Street, Ashbourne, Meath
the decor inside was a bit bland but the waiter was very pleasant. Strangely we were the only customers dining in the place for most of our meal until another couple came in towards the end of our meal, maybe that's normal for a Wed night in recessionary Ireland. The food was ok, there's better and worse out there but I did like the fact that the waiter filled the wine glass almost to the top, just the way i like it :).
