Ate here for sister's birthday. Superb steaks. Desserts are sinfully good. Staff very efficient. Excellent product and great value. Well worth a visit - even worth a detour!

Le Petit Cafe
35A Kildare Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Confession time - I eat here regularly. I like it. I\'ve probably been a regular customer, typically twice a week, for much of the last fourteen years.\n\nI keep returning because the food is predictably good. Freshly made sandwiches, panini and rolls. Hearty soups or hotpot. Irish produce wherever possible. Freshly ground, good quality coffee. Friendly, fast service, although you will have to queue at peak times.\n\nOpens at 6:00 am, and even at that hour, the coffee connoisseurs ensure that there are often queues.\n\nFor anyone looking for tasty, freshly made sandwiches, soup or good coffee and a Danish, this is definitely one of the best choices in Dublin 2.

Baileys Cellar Bar
Baileys Hotel Cashel, Main Street, Cashel, Tipperary

Driving from Dublin to Cork, this is THE place to break the journey for a meal or a light snack. It's only a few minutes from the motorway, and the food and service are superb.

Royal Park Chinese Restaurant
Church Road, Greystones, Greystones, Wicklow

Service was atrocious. Arrived 7:15 on Saturday evening, with two young children. Most tables unoccupied. Still waiting for main courses at 8:45, even though guests at other tables who arrived after us had finished desserts and left. Had been an occasional customer, and a regular take-away customer, but never again!

The Lily Garden
St. Mary's Road, Edenderry, Offaly

This restaurant charges €2 for tap water! This has to be the fastest way to irritate customers, and the most illogical way to increase profits. Fair enough, they have to pay rates, but their profit margin on tap water must be enormous. Sensible customers will vote with their feet, and go elsewhere
