Gorgeous, we got the pre-theatre menu €25.00 each for 2 coarses, I cannot find fault, the steak was soft and melt in the mouth and so tasty, the vegaterian went with the fish (hake) and equally enjoyed, then mouse and creme brulee for dessert, both courses were wonderful, left feeling full and satisfied not bloated & uncomfortable. My other got half a manhattan, I was after a long island ice tea it wasnt on the menu but the waitress and bartender soon saw that rendered. All in all service was wonderful, not in your face but the water glasses stayed full, dinner served with good timing my compliments to the bar tender (one of the finest long islands I have ever had), chef and staff, a wonderful experience.

Mastersons, one of the nicest place in swords but kinda average, ok the steak on the hotstone could rival shanahans, but the monk fish left alot to be desired as did the ribs, the beef salad was heavy on the salad light on the beef and the accustics were terrible, we were 9 at a table and could not hear each other unless you were side by side so that made for an unrelaxing evening when you have to shout at each other or ask the person beside you to ask the person beside them etc to pass the salt, the layout was bad the waitress couldnt reach 4 people so food had to be passed along. Maybe I am being hard and maybe if it wasnt a Saturday night and maybe if there was less in our group and the tables were better organised I would be more positive, but thats a lot of maybes and I think a restaurant should be able to handle a busy saturday night, but o n a positive note, it is a steakhouse and they most definately have got their steaks right !

Castellina Chianti
George's Hill, Balbriggan, Dublin

WOW what can I say, after reading the reviews, my sister (birthday girl), her husband, my other sister and myself went to this place, it was our first visit, but not our last, I have already planned another night out soon and we will be going here for dinner, the food as gorgeous, fresh, tasty, smelled divine and looked so appealing I cannot rave enough about the food, the starters were huge portions could easily have been shared, the king prawns were huge and juicy and chicken wings (9 ) were soft juicy and tasty, the steak was nice, I asked for medium I got well done, but it was tasty and still soft so I enjoyed it none the less, a chicken with and orange cream sauce a, the fish and also the pasta were ordered all main coarses were gorgeous I am sure I saw the waiter laughing at all off us passing around our plates to each other to try and all exclaiming how each dish was even nicer then one just tried, the sides of veg were tasty, the chips OMG gorgeous and plentyful also. 4 starters, 4 main, 2 wine, 1 cappacino, 1 coke, and a dessert came to approx €120 exc tip. Service was attentive but not in your face, decor and atmosphere was lovely and relaxing and very authentic, I am a huge fan of Castellina Chianti and look forward to becoming a regular.

Harveys Bar and Grill Restaurant (Above Harvest Bar & Lounge)
Main Street, Balbriggan, Balbriggan, Dublin

The food at harveys is great I have been coming here regulary for the past 2 years, if not for a full dinner then for the yummi desserts there is nothing nicer then a nice piece of warm chocolate mississippi mud pie with a splodge of cream. Pricewise it is a little pricy but the portions are big, we normally share starters or skip them totally or just get starters and dessert(the portions are big), there are plenty of choices for kids and veggies, as we have both in my family, they wont serve cocktails anymore unless you are ordering food and they dont open on a Tuesday anymore, sign of the times I suppose. The only bad thing about harveys is the service for my last few trips the staff have not been up to much we have been left waiting and wrong orders (and attitude ) have arrived at the table. I would recommend harveys for the food if nothing else it really is nice to find a place outside the city that serves more then a carvery or sambos and soup(it does serve these aswell and plenty more), I recommend the ribs as they are devine, juicy and saucy and the fajitas are sizzling and tasty. The cocktails are tasty and well made and almost too good !!

Taste Food Company
South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate there at lunch time today, service was great, food was served fast which i appreciate at lunchtime, food was lovely and fresh and full of flavour absolutely yummi, mediterranian sandwich & cesar salad and chicken breast on foccia with cunky chips were ordered along with 1 fruit juice and a soft drink came to €21.40, the portions were big enough we were full afterwards and the portions were closer to dinner than lunch size and you cant knock 21.40 for 2 dinners and 2 soft drinks. staff were friendly and decor was nice open and airy plenty of room between tables we ate upstairs but i noticed down stairs was busier and that there was also an outside area downstair at the front and that seemd to be busy enough with people watching coffee drinkers, we were offered free coffee but declined all in all a great experience and we will be going back.
