We found this little place when going to a film in the Lighthouse in Smithfield. We both had the vegetarian dish - melanzanne a la parmigiana which was delicious - will definitely be backCuisine:

I have the other reviews with interest. I have eaten in Bay several times mostly at night but occasionally for lunch. I agree with many of the comments - the location is lovely but everything else is only mediocre and you often don't get the dish as described in the menu - however I do think it has improved in recent times - the seafood platter for 2 is about the best dish on the menu
ely gastro bar
Grand Canal Square, (Next to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre), Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin
Myself and my daughter had brunch here on a sunny saturday - eggs benedict and florentine - absolutely lovely washed down with a glass of white wine - really good value - will be back

Jewel in the Crown (South William Street)
5 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Myself and a friend went in here for the early bird for a quick bite and a chat- looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful. 2 courses for €14.95 - pretty good value and the food actually quite good. wine mediocre at €17.95. Overall good value

Dobbins Restaurant
15 Stephen Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I hadnt been to Dobbins in ages - what a great surprise! 7 of us ate here for the early bird last Friday and it was the best meal I have had in ages. Everything was perfect - food, service and atmosphere.I definitely wont leave it so long to revisit.

Le Bon Crubeen
81-82 Talbot Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
This is a great find. Good quality fresh food at great price - duck and pear salad was lovely as was the butternut squash risotto - and a full bar will definitely be back!!

Peploes Wine Bistro
16 St Stephen's Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin
4 of us had lunch here for my niece's birthday. Tried to order a glass of prosecco but none available. Service was pleasant enough if less than friendly and food acceptable but nothing to write home about . I had french onion soup to start which was fine and the fish pie was a bit bland. I found the food quite ordinary but maybe just made the wrong choices. I think I expected a bit more based on all the reviews.

Saba
26-28 Clarendon Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I had heard great things about this restaurant so 5 of us went for dinner on Sat night. The only good thing about it was the buzz! Our table was booked for 7 and almost the first thing we were greeted with was that we had to be off by 9. Fair enough - we knew this and that was fine with us. However the food left a lot to be desired.Everyone of us described it as bland! Mine was particularly poor. The duck pancakes were ordinary - pretty tasteless- but the Phad Thai with prawns was soggy and awful , To be fair I was not charged for this dish but I would rather have eaten something. Again we were ushered abruptly off the table at 9 by a less than courteous member of staff. Maybe the usuall chef was on a night off but...I wont be back - there are too many places out there now serving good food at reasonable prices

The Gallery Restaurant at the Church
Junction of Mary St. & Jervis St., Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
I really was very disappointed with the gallery. I have eaten in the bar downstairs which is usually quite good. The duck pancakes were really poor and the shank of lamb was flavourless. Staff was quite disinterested when I informed them. For a friday evening it was very quiet wiuth little atmosphere. I think this is one place I will not return to
New Hin Keng
25G Malahide Road, Artane, Artane, Dublin
Although not a great fan of chinese food my daughter convinced me to try it out last sat night. I was nicely surprised - nice staff , good service and lovely prawns sweet and sour and cantonese duck - followed by a drink on the house. All in all I was impressed

Wallace's Asti

The Waterside (Schull)
Main Street, Schull, Cork
We had lunch here on Sunday and ordered Seafood chowder - it was so awful we sent it back - cornfloury and salty. We then ordered 2 sandwiches which when they arrived were wrong. We sent those back clarified to a very nice waitress what we had ordered and this time one was incorrect. However as we were there a half an hour at this stage we said nothing. It is a pity as Schull really needs a good eatery. Staff were lovely though and really need support but they need to get it right. €25 for 2 toasted sambos , 2 coffees and 2 glasses of red wine

Newhaven(La Coquille)
Schull, Schull, Cork
I used to eat in la Coquille each time I visited Schull. As The Haven it is now catering for families with pasta and Pizza which are good - can still get fish but..... it is not the same. However it is reliable and meets the market and good value for money. great for kids

One Pico Restaurant
5-6 Molesworth Place, Schoolhouse Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I have been looking forward to eating here for many weeks now so myself and 2 friends ate here on a thurs evening at 630pm. To be honest I was disappointed overall. The place was really only filling up when we were leaving so we felt a bit alone. The food was a bit disappointing even leaving out the small portions - full marks for presentation though. I had had sweet pea soup which at best was ordinary. The crispy duck was a bit too crispy and the belly of pork was not crispy enough. The creme brulee was lovely and staff attentive and friendly. We had a nice evening but I dont think I will be back although might be tempted to try the €20 lunch which sounds better value - maybe we got them on a bad night!

Siam Thai (Andrews Street)
14/15 Andrews Street, City Centre South, Dublin
I returned to this restaurant after a year as I have a friend who loves it. However I am still not impressed.Duck rolls were pretty good but the Phad thai with prawns was just a soggy mess.Staff were attentive but less than friendly. To be honest I will not return as there are many reasonably priced restaurants out there who serve good food - and with a smile

ely bar & brasserie

Hacketts Bar
Main Street Schull, Schull, Cork
Crazy tiny bar on main street - have eaten lunch here several times anf the soups including the chowder are fab - huge portions - great selection of sandwichs and salads - sometimes open upstairs for dinner during high season

Bunratty Inn
Main Street, Schull, Cork
Thid is an old fashioned type of pub wih the usual pub grub - steak, battered fish and chips wilted salad. Coffee not bad though. Would not return unless nowhere else to eat which can often be the case in Schull

The Nuthouse
Howth Road, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin
Small place - great for breakfast - tapas in the evening really good too. Nice staff but decor a bit dull - good value and worth a visit.

The Yacht (Clontarf)

3 of us had Sunday lunch in Jan. Overall food was as good as you might expect for pub grub - plenty of it and plenty of choice - good value too.

Martines Restaurant & Wine Bar
21 Quay Street, Galway, Galway City, Galway
This was my first visit to Galway in several years. We went to Martines just off the street having looked at menus in several places. Picasso Restaurant
1 Vernon Avenue, Clontarf, Dublin
I used to be a regular at this resaurant but had not eaten there for about a year until this week. We were a group of 11 and I must say it was a great night- food and wine of good quality - also service and atmosphere. However I still think it is overpriced.

Bay Restaurant
369 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin
I have the other reviews with interest. I have eaten in Bay several times mostly at night but occasionally for lunch. I agree with many of the comments - the location is lovely but everything else is only mediocre and you often don't get the dish as described in the menu - however I do think it has improved in recent times - the seafood platter for 2 is about the best dish on the menu

Plan B
Manor Place, Stoneybatter, Dublin
Had lunch for the second time here. Small menu but food was really good. Nice staff. Was served a complimentary bowl of olives which unfortunately I hate, so was served gorgeous cambazola wrapped in parma ham - nice touch. Small but decent wine list. Would recommend definitely.

Wongs of Clontarf
436 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin
back here again after a gap of several months - things not much better - food very mediocre and poor value for money - wont be back

Yamamori Sushi, Tengu
38-39 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Although not a big fan of sushi I was dragged to this restaurant and don't regret it - good food and my friends loved the sushi. Venue is fab although service a bit slow - will be back.

Great all round - great food and the early bird is great value - great service and friendly staff - I am local to this restaurant and it never fails to please

Sandbar
193 Clontarf Road, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin
4 of us had lunch here this week - the first time I was here since they opened the new area.More space definitely and food as good as before. The staff on the day were friendly so I hope that continues as this was my biggest fault with the place previously. Still very draughty though when the door opened - we spent the whole time taking on and off jumpers- this will definitely need to be addressed. Great coffee!
