Great food and great service. Beautiful surroundings and lovely atmosphere. I had the early bird menu which is very reasonable and good sized portions.Would certainly recommend this restaurant for everyone!

Bear
35 South William Street, Dublin 2, South William Street, Dublin

Went here with foodie friends after hearing good things. The place totally lacks atmosphere, and there was table beside us full of drunks screaming and shouting, downing shots (6.30 in the eve)- felt like I was in a pub with footie louts. When we commented about the noise to waitress, she replied "what can you do?". Great consideration for all other diners. We waited 25mins for menus and drink order to be taken, and the staff weren't helpful or informative when we enquired about the unusual cuts of meat. I was told the rump was the leanest, mine was tasty but my partners had several rinds of fat running through the entire steak. It was inedible, and he returned it refusing another. The onion rings were totally over seasoned, like a mouthful of powdery Parmesan, yuck. We ordered 10 sauces to try...only the peppercorn was any good. As for the house gravy ....tasted like oxtail soup mixed with ketchup. Awful. The fries were lovely, the millionaire fries were good also but not worth €7.00. Overall very disappointed, won't be returning.

Jewel in the Crown (Dun Laoghaire)
54 Upper George's Street, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Slightly odd experience on arriving at this restaurant.Staff are a little full on but that can often be a matter of personal preferance;there was a lot of hovering which really puts me on edge. Food was tasty and authentic but we had to wait for quite a while before we recieved our mains. I found the price to be too expensive. The experience wasnt unpleasant, although I wouldnt be returning in a hurry.

Alexis Bar And Grill
17 / 18 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Enjoyed a fabulous meal in Alexis, it wasn`t my first time there but its been given a facelift since my last visit and looks very well-a bit more personal. The waiting staff were all very professional and attentive which can be hard to find. Really good food, although my risotto starter wasn`t near enough-I could easily have eaten twice what was given but couldn`t fault the food at all. Desert was delicious and very attractively presented. Lovely spot all in all!

The Box Tree
Stepaside Village, South Dublin, Stepaside, Dublin

Had a lovely meal here and will definately be returning. The lunch menu and early bird are very good value but overall menu is very reasonably priced.I enjoyed every mouthful of my main and I was blown away by the desert-delicious mandarin cheesecake and sorbet. My boyfriend ordered the creme brulee which would easily have served two. Attentive staff and pleasant setting.

FXB Monkstown

Regularly eat in this restaurant with my boyfriend and we absolutely love the food. Its consistently good, with fresh ingredients and always perfectly cooked meat. The fillet steak is properly melt-in-your mouth and the service is very efficient.Lovely staff and food!

Browns Barn Bar and Kitchen
Citywest Exit, Citywest Bridge N7, West Dublin, Saggart, Dublin

Ate here with my boyfriend and didn`t have a pleasant experience at all. We regularly eat out and enjoy all types of food/dining experiences. The restaurant was quite full and we had at least 4different staff members serving us.I ordered chicken which came after a very long wait, it was cold and the amount of mashed potato I received was a joke-roughly a tablespoon size.He ordered a rare steak which was med/well done and veg accompanying it was cold also.Lack of communication between staff and kitchen ment the food was so cold and disappointing that we told our waitress we didn`t want to re-order and we just paid for our drinks and left. All this took over an hour.....I will not be returning and left with a very hungry belly!!!
