A stark difference experienced in the bar compared to my experience in the balcony cafe. We were served by an extremely pleasant, smiling and helpful man. We both chose breakfast items which were very tasty and great value. A daily carvery operates with five choices of main course and I will attend again to try it.Overall highly enjoyable

Marco Pierre White Courtyard Bar & Grill
1 Belmont Ave, Dublin 4, Donnybrook, Dublin

Ate here with my dinner club and had an excellent dining experience. I had a parfait starter followed by a vegetarian pasta and to end a creme brûlée. The food was extremely tasty and decent in portion size. The service is the main reason I am writing this review. Our waiter practically served the thirty of us single handedly for the evening. He was excellent, fun loving with a great eye for detail. I have been eating out for ever and have not been this impressed with service for years. Every restaurant needs a waiter like this. Overall highly enjoyable meal in an eatery that I would both recommend and return to.

Ate here with my dining club. Overall excellent dining experience. The service was faultless and particular mention goes to the two managers one of whom I had known previously from another highly commended eatery. The mushroom soup starter I had was probably the best soup I have ever eaten. The veal to follow was very tasty and beautiful in presentation. I had a delicious cheese plate to end. The atmosphere was great in the very stylish dining room. I would highly recommend a visit here.

Took my dinner club here. Everbody enjoyed it and scored it well on our comment cards. As my co host went home sick I was left to host. Our waitress was excellent in every way and keep up the good work you are an asset to the establishment, I would have liked to have had a visit from the manager but other than that all was well . Foodwise was excellent in particular with relation to presentation and taste. I had a ravioli starter followed by a rosti main and to finish a generous cheese board. The atmosphere was very good indeed. Overall a most enjoyable evening..

Avenue by Nick Munier
1 Crow Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Overall I was disappointed in my visit here. Whilst the food was tasty it was way too small in portion size and I left hungry. The service wasn't great and we had to ask a couple of times for wines to be brought to the table. Atmosphere was ok but the restaurant was way too hot. All in a great disappointment and I probably would not return.

The Ring of Kerry Hotel
Cahirciveen, Caherciveen, Kerry

Ate with my railway society. The service was pleasant mostly with exception of an unsmiling girl with no eye contact at the bar. All my table had been served dinner and had started eating whilst I was still left waiting for my main so hence the drop in rating. Food was very tasty and good in portion size. Atmosphere was fine. Overall I would return and hopefully I will be met with a smile at the bar as well as being served promptly next time around.

Hadn't eaten here since it opened. I found the service cold with the exception of one pleasant girl. Nobody came near the table during courses to see how I was. The food was excellent. Shack Restaurant
24 East Essex Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Hadn't been in years so decided to give it a go. The food was excellent tasty and very good in portion size. My dining companion echoed this. The lady who took our order and the guy who showed me to the table were very nice as was a guy who brought the desert to the table. The good service was however let down by two other servers who never smiled once when they dealt with us and in addition stood next to us one leaning on my friends chair and gave out incessantly about people only ordering coffees and tipping poorly. This took from the overall atmosphere. The restaurant was a little cold too. Overall however despite the negatives I would recommend this eatery as the food is great and very good value. I do hope the 10% tip I gave for the nice servers was to your liking.

I used to eat here a lot but hadn't been for ages. I am so glad I went back. The service was excellent and in addition to be thanked by name by the owner for my business was highly impressive. I had a beautiful quiche followed by a perfectly cooked tasty fillet of beef. My friend chose a chicken main which she loved. We both had apple crumble for desert which was very good in both portion size and flavour. The atmosphere was great with well chosen music in the background. Overall a great evening in an eatery which comes highly commended.

Fiorentina
40 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Ate with my dining club. Some of us ended up separated due to the seating arrangements which was a tad annoying. The guy who served the whole group himself was pleasant however as he forgot my cheese desert and only noticed when everyone had finished their deserts I have decided to take points off for service. This mistake took entirely from my overall dining experience. The starter and main were very tasty and well presented. The atmosphere was alright nothing special. Overall taking everything into account I don't think I would return.

profile_review

Jerusalem Restaurant
77 Camden Street Lwr., Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

First time here. I thought the service could have been more attentive. Nobody asked us during the main if everything was alright and I could have done with a drinks refill. We both had different hommous starters and different lamb mains. It was all fine with the exception of my lamb main it was a tad dry and could have been bigger in portion size. Deserts were good. Overall room for improvement with regards service and portion size. Good value for money.

Patrick Guilbaud
21 Upper Merrion Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate with my dining club in a private dining room. The service was excellent throughout and we had plenty of time between courses to enjoy our meal. At no time did we feel rushed unlike some other higher end establishments I have dined in. The food was exquisite. I started with a sweetcorn soup followed by monkfish with a cheese plate to end. We then were escorted to a sheltered outside area for coffee and petit fours. The owner came out to see if we had enjoyed and i was delighted to express my thanks in French. Overall an excellent dining experience which I would highly recommend one to try.

The Maritime bar
The Quay, Bantry, Cork

Ate with a group however we ate in the bar as we did not like the choice of menu for the group. Service in the bar was pleasant however we had to go to the bar to order as even though we were sitting there a while nobody bothered to come over to us. I also noticed on using the bathroom I noticed several uncleared tables. Foodwise was good and tasty with exception of overdone chips, a pavlova with huge lumps of hard fruit and an apple crumble which arrived as rhubarb. The atmosphere was fine. Overall not bad but room for improvement.

Ate here with my dining club. The service was impeccable. All staff members I encountered were highly professional and perfectly groomed. The service throughout was seamless and nothing was a problem. The attention to detail is immense and there was a good management presence throughout. A special mention goes to the gentleman who attended to us in the private dining room he was excellent. Foodwise was most enjoyable I started with a celeriac soup followed by a risotto. I then had a beautiful cheeseboard to finish. The atmosphere overall in this establishment is extra special however this was further enhanced by the private dining area something I and the rest of the group loved. Overall a great night in a restaurant that I would both return to and highly recommend.

The Green Hen
33 Exchequer street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Called in for lunch with a friend. I found the service attentive and smiling at all times. Foodwise excellent in taste and presentation. Value for money excellent for quality of food provided. The atmosphere was good but background music could have been turned down a tad. Two little things that irked me firstly we had to go to the counter for the bill and secondly I tried to book on menupages but was declined however I phoned up and the booking was taken and I was told they dont take bookings from menupages. Taking everything into account however I would return and recommend here.

Called into the balcony area while waiting for steam train. The service was disgraceful. It was rushed and unsmiling from the two woman behind the counter. Gourmet Food Parlour Dun Laoghaire
7 Cumberland Street, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Having dined in three other branches of this eatery I looked forward to visiting here. On arrival there were three staff members behind the counter. None of them looked up from their tasks at hand so I had to ask was there a table available. Once seated we were however served quickly enough. I chose a cheeseboard and sweet potato fries which were nice. My friend had a wrap and a side salad. She described it as only alright and the salad was described as limp. I had a scone which was fine but I would have liked some cream with it. My friend had a brownie which she said was alright. The atmosphere was noisy on arrival plus with the tables so close together it was hard to have a private chat. Overall disappointing.

Ate with my sister. Service was good with the exception of a girl whisking the plate from under my sisters nose just as she had taken the last bite of her food and then asked would you like a desert? I was still eating at the time. I love a clean table but this was taking it a bit far so a little more attention to service is required here. Food was excellent as was the atmosphere. I would recommend a visit to this branch.

TGI Friday (Temple Bar)
19/20 Fleet St, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Second time to visit here. I called by for lunch. I was greeted outside the door by a very pleasant girl who showed me to my table. My server was equally as pleasant as was the very friendly manageress I spoke to. There was a good management presence at all times. Foodwise I chose a starter of very tasty chicken strips followed by a very tasty pasta dish. there are good offers available for lunch. you can get a choice of a good few mains for under a tenner or a two course lunch for 14 euro. Free drinks refills were readily provided without even having to ask. There was a very nice atmosphere with music playing at an acceptable volume in the background. The building has great character having been the old Bewleys café where my grandmother worked during WW2. You can enter this restaurant from either Westmoreland Street or Fleet Street. I recommend a visit and it is also a great venue for parties.

Called in for lunch with a friend. The service was good and we were promptly served. We chose carvery which was very well presented. Freshly made wraps, salads and sandwiches were also available in addition to the hot food too. I chose cottage pie which was very good in taste and presentation. My friend had a chicken salad. We both cleared our plates. The atmosphere was good too with lot of regular clientele present which is always a good sign. You can even reserve a table if you wish. Overall after taking everything into account I would recommend a visit to this establishment which has an individual personality of its own.

Oscars Restaurant
21 Oliver Plunkett Street, Mullingar, Westmeath

Ate with a friend on a railtour. We were first to arrive in the restaurant as it opened. We were quickly shown to a table. All staff we encountered were pleasant however the girl who brought our main course was out on her own and her attention to detail was excellent. She was genuinely warm. Foodwise was very good with all food being served piping hot and well presented. We both had garlic mushrooms to start whilst I chose beef for the main whilst my friend had ribs. I had a desert. We both enjoyed what we had. The atmosphere was good with a nice mix of people having lunch. I would return again.

10 Thousand World Buffet (O'Connell Street)
46 - 49 O'Connell Street Upper, City Centre North, Dublin

Ate with a friend enroute to the Gate theatre. We were extremely warmly greeted on arrival and all staff we dealt with were equally as pleasant. The food was very nice and plentiful in supply. It was regularly replaced whilst I was there. It was good in choice but I would have liked a little more European dishes as advertised on their website. They will also cook dishes on demand too. This eatery offers excellent value for money as you can eat all you like. Overall a most enjoyable visit and I would return.

Caffe Italiano
7 Crow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Ate with my dining club. The service was excellent. Both the guys who served us and the guy who took the order were all extremely friendly. The food was also excellent. I started with an aubergine dish. For mains I had gnocchi which came with a delicious pesto. Finally I had tiramisu which was very nice. The atmosphere was great and there was live music playing downstairs (we had a private dining area upstairs). I had to leave after desert as I had an early morning departure the next day but would have loved to have stay to soak up the atmosphere. Overall a most enjoyable evening in an establishment that I would both return to and recommend.

Very pleasant service throughout. Three of us in the party. We all really enjoyed our food. The only gripe would have would be that the starters were a bit on the small side. The atmosphere was very nice indeed and they also have a smokers area out the back which saves one standing on the street. Overall a very nice meal and I would return.

Seabank Bistro
Coast Road, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Ate here years ago and found the service dreadful so needless to say I was unsure about returning. Our waiter was extremely pleasant. The guy who took the order could have been a little more smiling but overall the service was a hell of a lot better then the downright rudeness on my last visit. There were five of us in the group and we all found the food excellent. I had goats cheese followed by fish and chips and to finish a very nice cheese board. The rest of the crew had cheeses or salad to start and for mains chose duck or pasta. One had a fruit salad the other had crème brulee to finish. The atmosphere was very good indeed. I noticed a lot of people who appeared to be regular diners always a good sign. So glad I returned and I would highly recommend a visit.

Ate with a friend. The service was good throughout. We both chose a soup starter which was totally bland. I had a vegetarian main which I loved but my companion said she didn't enjoy her steak. I had a cheese board for desert which was lovely but again my companion said she did not enjoy her bread and butter pudding. The atmosphere was quiet but we had a nice seat in the window. The early bird menu did offer very good value for money. Overall a bit disappointed particularly as my companion did not enjoy her meal.

I hadn't been here for years so glad I went again. Called into meet a friend for lunch. I had to queue for a while but I didn't mind as I got into conversation with two really nice women about restaurants. The staff kept us up to date about wait times etc. As I was waiting for my friend at the table I had a chat with a really nice waitress. She was just finishing her shift however the guy and girl who served us were very pleasant and efficient. The food was most enjoyable and reasonable in price. I chose a chicken vol au vent whilst my friend had a chicken fajita. The atmosphere was buzzing on this cold and rainy day. Overall a very enjoyable dining experience and I would both recommend and return here.

Ate with a friend who is a regular. The guy who served us was very friendly and efficient and was completely customer driven. Any other staff who came to the table were again pleasant and efficient, The manager also came and said a quick hello to my friend which I thought was good PR. We shared a nachos starter and I had a lasagne for mains ( the daily 10 euro special) my mate opting for prawns pil pil. We both really enjoyed our food. The atmosphere was great with good music playing in the background. We got a window seat and watched the world going by. Called in for lunch.I was pleasantly greeted on arrival. Service was excellent. It was genuinely warm and efficient. There was a also a good management presence notable. I really enjoyed my mushroom bruschetta followed by lasagne. Both dishes were very tasty, well presented and piping hot. The atmosphere was very nice in this bright spotlessly clean eatery with tasteful music playing in the background at an acceptable volume. I noticed an open seating area outside beside the canal which would be lovely on a fine day. My only small quibble would be the bill. 24 euro for a starter, main and a soft drink is a tad overpriced. Overall however a most enjoyable dining experience and I would both recommend and return to this restaurant.

Called by for lunch with a friend. the place was buzzing but we were still able to converse easily. The service was overall very good and I found one particular lady very chatty and warm both during the meal and when I went to pay. The food was very tasty indeed. We both chose a starter of mushroom soup whilst I opted for a hot roast beef sandwich my friend had prawns. We both loved our food. At no time did we feel rushed and we finished off with a walk in the surrounding farm It was a delight to get so close to the animals. This eatery is a real family friendly place but is suitable for all ages alike. My friend is already going back this week.

First time to eat here. So glad we did. The service was extremely pleasant, professional and efficient. I even had a chat with the manager who was extremely helpful. Foodwise my friend had a Christmas sandwich and sweet potato fries whilst I had a soup starter followed by the Sword steak. My main course was the best main course I have eaten this year. We both treated ourselves to a desert. The atmosphere is very nice indeed and quiet enough that one converse without having to raise your voice. We also felt that we could have sat there all day as at no point were we rushed. Overall an excellent dining experience which comes highly commended.

Dined in a group of three. We were seated in a very nice area upstairs. The waitress was very pleasant as were the two members of management I encountered. Foodwise I had a prawn toast starter followed by a fillet of beef curry. The other two in the party shared a mixed platter starter and both opted for a sweet and sour chicken for mains. Ice cream was served for desert. Overall we all enjoyed the food which was plentiful and excellent in presentation particularly the bears made from salt that appeared with the starter. The atmosphere was very good indeed. My only slight criticism would be that a desert for diabetics should be readily available. I would both recommend and return here.

Dined with a friend who goes here regularly when in Cork. When we arrived we were told it would be a few minutes before our table would be ready. This afforded us a chance to sit at the bar and get a drink. Within no time at all the extremely pleasant and professional owner showed us to our table. I observed during our meal that she kept a very strict eye on the flow of service in the restaurant. The staff worked very well and kept a good eye on tables and anticipated diners needs very well. Our waitress was excellent at her job friendly, smiling and engaging in conversation with diners. Foodwise was excellent in taste and portion size. We both really enjoyed our food which was very tasty and very decent in portion size. The atmosphere was a tad quiet but as it was late afternoon this was to be expected. For mains I had the couscous cake whilst the other two had a turnip galette each. For desert I had a low sugar cake whilst the others had a chocolate cake and icecream . They also had some homemade chocolates. The service was elegant, professional and efficient. There was a very nice atmosphere in this recently renovated eatery. We both had deserts which were lovely. Even though the restaurant was not full there still was a very nice warm atmosphere. My only small gripe is that a member of management never visited the table and in a hotel of this calibre I would have expected it. Overall a great place where I would both recommend and returns. Ate with a friend. I found the service pleasant but extremely scattered. The waiter kept forgetting things. I asked a question about the food and he said he couldn't hear me with the music! Foodwise I had a bread starter which came after I had received my main. Nevertheless both the onion bread and the risotto were very nice indeed. My friend had two slices of pizza which she liked. We both had desert and really enjoyed them. My friend had a cinnamon tea which arrived a little late too. Atmosphere was nice in this quirky eatery. Good value for money was evident in both the food quality and the effort that went into it. I would return and hopefully the service will be better next time.

Ate here with my dining group. I found the service to be of a very good standard but things at the bar could have been a little more polished and organised. However I have given five stars overall for service as the guy who looked after us for the duration of the evening was outstanding. Foodwise was very enjoyable however I did think portions were a tad on the small side. I started with a salad followed by lamb and to finish a very pleasant diabetic jelly. All were extremely tasty and very well presented. The atmosphere was very good indeed and a very warm welcome was tendered on arrival and again on departing I was met with a warm and genuine goodbye. Overall I have no hesitation in recommending The Hot Stove and I will return.

We all chose steak dinners which were extremely flavoursome and very good in presentation. To finish each of us had a desert in the form of a pear and almond tart, icecream and a diabetic desert in the form of fresh berries. From a value for money point of view our bill came to 47-95 great value for the quality and quantity of food provided. The atmosphere was warm and homely in this spacious and well appointed eatery. The added bonus of eating here is that overnight accommodation is available. Overall I would highly recommend a visit here.

Ate with a friend who goes regularly.I found the service to be pleasant but yet again that old chestnut that I hate reared its head and we were straight away asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. Food wise I chose an omelette whilst my friend had pate. The omelette was very nice but a bit small in depth and I was still hungry. I enquired if there were any diabetic deserts available and was told no. I had a scone which I shouldn't be eating but had no choice and asked if there was any diabetic jam. Again I was met with a no. With such a huge population of diabetics perhaps this is something which this eatery along with others should address. it doesn't cost much to whip up a fruit salad or keep a pot of diabetic jam in the fridge and therefore you get happy customers. Overall I was deeply disappointed in my visit here and would not return.

Jaipur Restaurant (George's Street)

Used to eat here a lot years ago. Decided to give it a try with two friends. The service needs improvement ie increased staffing and could be a tad warmer. On a few occasions people were left at the door waiting whilst the dining room was devoid of staff. One of my fellow diners wanted more water and was unable to get it. Perhaps leaving a jug of water on the table would avoid this problem. We were asked on seating if we wanted still or sparkling water. This freaks me out if I want either I will ask for it. The saving grace for this restaurant was the food it was excellent in taste and presentation. The atmosphere was good on this damp evening. Looking out at the rain whilst being seated comfortably in this warm establishment made it all that more enjoyable. Price wise was a little pricy especially when you add on side orders. Overall I would return for the food but not the service.

I chose soup whilst my friend chose a salad and chips. The food was very good. The service was alright but we had to wait for the bill and on departure nobody thanked us for our business despite after getting a decent tip from my friend. Overall good food , a lack of atmosphere save for the view and mediocre service. With so many other nice places around I don't think I would be rushing back.

The guy at the till could have been a bit more friendly. Geisha Restaurant & Bar (Malahide)
Marina Village, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

Ate here for lunch. Having heard mixed reviews from locals I decided to go with an open mind. The best thing about this restaurant was the pleasant and attentive service in addition to the beautiful surroundings. The worst was the food. My dim sum starter was good albeit it small in size hence I have awarded one star. My main of honey and pepper beef was awful. The beef was chewy and wasn't piping hot when it arrived. I left the beef uneaten and only had the rice and veg. No comment was made on this on clearing For desert I had a passion fruit mousse which contained dried out sponge.and wasn't up to much save for the sorbet that accompanied it. My dining companion enjoyed his starter but did not like his main whatsoever stating that it was mediocre. The worse thing however he said were the chips that were served - tasteless and of the frozen variety. He did not like his desert either. We both left hungry and had to go to a coffee shop nearby for a quick snack afterwards. For 25 euro I felt the menu was totally overpriced for the quality of food served. All in all a disappointing dining experience. This establishment seriously needs to improve its standard of food served.

Was looking forward to trying this place for a long time however I was disappointed as I left hungry. Service was very pleasant from the girl at the till however I have docked marks in view of the fact that there were several tables left uncleared for the duration of my visit. When I went to order breakfast I was told that there was only one hash brown and one sausage left. All I had was one sausage one hash brown and a single piece of toast. When I ordered toast I presumed I would have received two pieces. I paid 3.75 for a glass of tepid orange juice and 4.50 for the above breakfast items so I therefore feel that I did not receive value for money. The small portion of food I did eat was very nice though. I don't think I will be rushing back again.

I can't really comment on service as it was self service however when I asked for toast a guy barked at me she's doing it now. A large tray of toast then appeared some of which was charred. Most people on the table were either half way or finishing their breakfast by the toast arrived. Leaving the delayed charred toast out of the equation the breakfast was actually very nice and plentiful in choice. The atmosphere was good in the dining room with a lovely view of the Shannon. One gripe I would have was that there were no side plates on the table and no granulated sugar present for cereals. Overall I did enjoy this hotel and breakfast and I would both recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Hamptons Grill
Henry Street, Limerick City, Limerick

Chose here on the recommendation of a colleague. I found the service extremely badly structured. Seven different people appeared at the table during the evening. There was no proper continuity. When we were finished our main we straight away were asked if we wanted deserts. I declined however when we did partake in deserts we had only finished when a guy whipped the plates from under our noses. I felt rushed while eating here it was as if they wanted us out as quick as possible. This coupled with fact that I saw a manager scolding a pleasant server whilst in the view of diners left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Foodwise was this establishments saving grace we both loved our food that is with the exception of my raspberry tart which had a base as hard as a rock. The atmosphere was buzzing in this trendy eatery. Overall good value great food which was let down by extremely disordered service. I probably would not return again for this reason.

Sligo Southern Hotel
Strandhill Road, Sligo Town, Sligo

Second time to eat here. I was on a railtour so decided to call in for a quick lunch. The lady who served us was extremely warm and friendly. I chose a lasagne and mash which came with garlic bread whilst my mate had a chowder and a freshly cut ham sandwich. We both enjoyed our food with the exception of my mash which was lumpy and undercooked. The atmosphere was quiet when we visited however this was made up for by the very good service and the comfortable clean seating provided. I would return again.

The Duck Terrace@Marlfield House
Marlfield House Hotel & Restaurant, Courtown Road R742, Gorey, Gorey, Wexford

My second time to dine here. I ate with a friend and a friend of his. I found the service to be excellent. It was both welcoming and warm and was provided by perfectly groomed elegant staff. We were firstly served some very tasty canapes to be be followed by an amuse bouche of chicken liver pate. For starters I chose goats cheese whilst the other two members of the group had foie gras and pork belly. For mains two of us had lamb the third opting for beef. We all chose chocolate fondant for desert. Each of us really enjoyed our food. I have to say the chocolate fondant was the best I have ever eaten. The atmosphere was very nice indeed. I found the meal to be a little overpriced however overall taking in the whole dining experience it was worth it. Our only gripe would be that the guy who had beef stated that it was a tad overcooked. I look forward to my next visit.

The Tea Room Restaurant
The Clarence, 6-8 Wellington Quay, Temple Bar, Dublin

Ate here with my dining club. I found the service awful. It was for the most part unsmiling with the exception of a really pleasant guy who brought me a cranberry juice and a pleasant supervisor who topped up my water. The guy who took our order was toatally unfriendly and unsmiling. Food did come at satisfactory intervals. However tea and coffee did not come for at least a half an hour after desert and only then after one of the group had asked twice for it. Some tables never got any at all. The young guy who brought the tea and coffee was clueless about service randomly leaving down cups without teaspoons. I feel there was an overall lack of proper management presence in the dining room. Foodwise was the only saving grace whilst here. I had a decent size portion of deep fried brie starter followed by a vegetarian gnocchi main. I finished with an apricot tart. The food was excellent. I would have preferred the desert to be hot but this is a personal taste thing. The atmosphere was fine. From a value for money point of view I felt a tad short changed as even though we had drinks included I only had a cranberry juice and for the level of poor service recieved I think the meal was overpriced. On reflection despite great food the dining experience overall was let down by the lack of value for money and the poor service hence I won't be returning here again.

Called in on the way to the theatre. Service was brisk but when we wanted the bill we had to wait ages. This really annoys me. Foodwise I had a soup starter whilst my friend had prawns., The brown bread with the soup was lovely. For mains I had a turkey sandwich. This was alright but the bread was a bit dried out. My mate had a chicken curry which she described as bland. I had a sticky toffee pudding which was supposed to have had a whiskey sauce,. I couldn't taste any whiskey. My mate had a bread and butter pudding which she liked. Overall okay but I dont know if I would rush back.

Called in for a cake and a drink with an old flame. Service was fine nothing special. A woman asked at the counter if we wanted anything else and when we requested a hot drink she stated another person would get it. I cant see why she herself couldnt have got it. Full marks to the woman clearing the tables she did a great job. The cakes were both nice and decent in portion size. This eatery offers nice views of the gardens. I would like to return and have a hot lunch as the food served to other diners looked very good.

The Bush Hotel Restaurant
@ Bush Hotel, Carrick On Shannon, Leitrim

Ate here on a railtour. The servivce for the most part was very good and in addition there was a good management presence throughout the service. I asked for extra bread and for my uneaten beef (owing to its large size ) to be wrapped. Both of these requests were done without delay. An older server could have beeen a bit more attentive. I had to ask her three times for beef and she then left a teapot on the table and said ye can help yourself! Foodwise I had a soup starter whilst my friend had melon both of which were enjoyed. I had beef for mains whilst my mate had salmon. My mate said the salmon was a tad dry. We finshed with a choice of good biscuits. Overall fine for a pit stop although the dining room could have been warmer.

Masterson's Steakhouse & Wine Bar
17 Main Street, Swords, Dublin

This restaurant is in my top two places to eat in the past year. I left it a little late to book however the manager was extremely helpful and accomodated me by checking for cancellations and giving me a table as a result of one. Service throughout was excellent. There was a good management presence at all times. We were made feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived. Foodwise was faultless. We both chose a mushroom starter which were very good. For mains I had medallions of beef. They were perfectly cooked. The red wine sauce with the beef was fab as was the gratin. My companion had a pizza which he loved. I chose a ferrero rocher cheesecake for desert again highly enjoyable. The atmosphere upstairs was buzzing with a guy singing and playing the piano. This restaurant has a personality something which a lot of places lack. Overall this eatery offers great value for the high level of service and excellent quality of food provided. I would highly recommend anyone to visit here but do book in advance as it is very popular.

Town Bar and Grill
21 Kildare Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate here with a group. I found the service to be mixed. I was shown to my seat by a guy who was a tad too business like and as we were leaving he never bothered to lift his head to say goodbye or thank you. The servers were a mixed bag some very pleasant some only alright. I had to look their way to get a drink on seating as they were busy talking amongst themselves. The table was presented well however some menus only contained desert menus. We were then told that our group would have to be split for service. In fairness we didn't have to wait too long even though the opposite end to me were served first. When clearing the table some servers were reaching in on front of us without as much of an excuse me. This is something that infuriates my especially when you are mid conversation. Foodwise I had a goats cheese starter which was very nice and was well presented. I did not like the daube of beef main but the small amount of vegetables with it were nice and flavoursome. For desert I had a panna cotta which was excellent. The atmosphere was fine however the restaurant was cold. Overall I felt the menu was a tad overpriced and those who had wine said it was overpriced. The included 12.5% service charge did not reflect in the service provided. Taking everything into account and the fact I had wanted to come here for years I was left underwhelmed. Overall disappointed and I would not return.

Ate with a friend. I had been so looking forward my visit and I was really disappointed. Service was provided by a guy who never smiled once and seemed in a hurry in everything he did. At one point he went to clear the table whilst I was still eating. Two women came to the table at various times and I found them pleasant and smiling. Foodwise I had a soup for starters which was fine. I had a fillet steak for mains which was full of sinew and was hard to cut. I left this uneaten and mentioned on clearing that I couldn't eat it. No further mention of this was made. For desert we both had a cheesecake as recommended which was awful. It was covered in hard chocolate. Trying to eat it was extremely difficult. My friend had prawns for starters and a fillet steak for mains. She was happy enough with her food. The atmosphere was fine but the restaurant was cold. We were eating on a voucher and from a value for money would have been great value had the standard of food been higher. Overall a most disappointing dining experience. I would not return here again.

Ate here with my dining club. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I was disgusted with my dining experience. Service throught was a disgrace. Not once did anybody who served us smile. When serving and clearing waiting staff leant across the table without even saying excuse me. We were told to be at the restaurant for eight. We were seated before eight thirty and did not recieve our startrters until nine fifty. There was no flow of service whatsoever. The food was brought to the table and we were all asked what we had ordered. This went on with each course. On the main and desert courses one person had to endure a wait for their order despite everyone else being served. I had a soup starter leek and potato being the only choice being available despite french onion being on the menu. The soup was ample. I had a dahl for mains which was bland and poorly presented with three large slices of pepper on top of it. I had a cheesecake for desert which was fine. We had a drink in the bar before dining and the atmosphere was nice with a pianist playing. For what we paid there was an distinct lack of value for money as evidenced by terrible service and average food. I had been looking forward to this outing all week and I have to say I have never been so let down in a long time.

Ate here with a friend last evening. I have to say it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Service was excellent throughout coupled with a visit to the table by the owner who thanked us for our business left me no other option but to award five stars. Foodwise I chose the buffet starter and was talked through the counter display by a very pleasant guy. I had beef carved at the table which was accompanied by an exquisite gravy. My companion declined a starter and opted for fishcakes for mains. Our mains were accompanied by cabbage and potato gratin. For deserts we had sherry trifle each and shared the profiterole desert. All in all the food was excellent. I would highly commend this establishment. I look forward to returning and I would recommend you try here.

Ate here with two elderly ladies one of whom was terminally ill and has since died. I found the service at the carvery to be very bad and extremely rushed. When the ladies had ordered beef from an unsmiling guy another unsmiling guy barked at the women Do you want anything else? as they weren't quick enough for him when he asked the question first time around. Both women were hard of hearing and were so excited at seeing each other they thankfully didn't notice this rudeness. We all had beef and none of us were offered a yorkshire pudding to go with it. We eventually got a seat at a table which was littered in food and salt. I had to try and clear the table myself. When we had finished our mains an unsmiling woman came to clear the table and used a paper napkin to clear the table. The table was still left with scraps of food and salt on it. The only saving grace was an extremely pleasant, professional and smiling bar man who served us our deserts at our table. It is to he that I award the one star for service. The ladies enjoyed their meal. I found it ample but the very bad service took from the whole dining experience. I would never return here again.

There was a good management presence in the dining room observing the flow of service. Foodwise we had salmon, skate, chips cooked in beef dripping, stuffed peppers, mushroom with celeriac, squid and a beautiful chocolate ice-cream to finish. Based on todays visit I will not be returning.

The Dining Room
35 Dawson Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate here with my dining club. The sevice which was provided by two highly efficient young ladies was faultless. Foodwise was equally as good. I had a soup starter followed by the daube of beef. I finished with a chocolate mousse. As we had a group of fifty we were afforded a separate dining room at the back of the restaurant which further enhanced the great atmosphere that night. This eatery offers very good value for money for the high quality of food provided.

Called in for drinks as we both had eaten earlier. Service was efficient but could have been more smiling. What impressed me was the speed in which tables were cleared once people had eaten. I am judging food on what I saw others eating and in addition their menu was very good. The atmosphere was very good in this establishment which has a definite personality of its own. Looking forward to returning to try some food.

I was on a railtour and was meeting up with an old friend for lunch. He suggested we try here. We were promptly seated and our order was taken very quickly which impressed me. My two friends chose chicken curry which they loved. I had a lasagne which was nice enough except for the the fact that there was a tad too much cheese on it. We would have loved deserts but as we were on a strict turnaround we had to skip them. The atmosphere was buzzing in this popular eatery. The menu offers excellent value for money. On paying the manager addressed me by name something which I love. I would highly recommend a visit here and next time I will book a table for dinner.

I ate in Chesterfields brasserie in this hotel recently and both myself and my friend really enjoyed it. We were welcomed by a really friendly manager who made us feel special. During my time here I observed that he kept a very strict eye on the flow of service and he also ensured that all guests were happy. I had sausages and mash which were very nice but could have been a bit more well done which I had asked for. My friend had a sizzling beef dish which she enjoyed. I had a mousse desert whilst my friend had an Eton mess. We both enjoyed our deserts. Te atmosphere was very nice in this modern and airy establishment. Value for money was very good for the high quality well presented food provided. My only small gripe would be that the servers should smile more.

Terrace Restaurant @ Clayton Whites Hotel
Abbey Street, Co. Wexford, Wexford Town, Wexford

Was staying at the hotel as part of an organised tour. On arrival at the restaurant the woman on reception was taking money from a queue of customers held up her hand to my party without uttering a word and continued to take cash. When she finished taking the cash she showed us to a table with an apology for the delay we incurred. I have awarded half a star for the pleasant girl who took our orders. When finished our mains an extremely rude waitress came and started clearing the table without asking had we finished. She eventually brought back desert menus which were literally snapped out of our hands when we ordered. We entered the restaurant at 8pm and at 930 the very same waitress banged down the bill on the table. The service we recieved was nothing short of a disgrace. Foodwise did slightly make up for the service and we all enjoyed our food. The atmosphere was marred by the bad service. I will not be returning here again.

Three of us ate here. The service was pleasant and efficient. The server really knew the menu inside out and attention to detail was very good. I chose a very tasty bruschetta to start whilst the second member of the group had a mozzerella and tomato starter. She stated that she would have preferred vine tomatos instead of the beef type served. The third member of the group declined a starter. For mains I had the piccante pasta. The other two members of the group had chicken pizzas. None of had desert as we were quite full. We all enjoyed our food. The atmosphere was very nice. Overall a very enjoyable dining experience. Finally for desert I had a cheesecake whilst the second member of the group had a panna cotta. The third member declined desert. Overall we loved our food. The atmosphere was very nice. Five of visited here for my mothers birthday. I found the service to be fine. However trying to obtain the bill was a tad slow. Some of the group declined starters but those of us who did go for a starter had either risottos or onion tarts. All of us really enjoyed our staters. For mains one of the party chose suckling pig whilst the rest of us chose steaks. Everone enjoyed the mains with the exception of me. My steak was full of fat and sinew. On clearing the mains I told the the manager that I had not enjoyed my main. He said he would have to speak to the chef which he duly did and subtracted the steak off the bill. Three of us had deserts which we all enjoyed. The atmosphere was good in this full to capacity eatery. From a personal point of view my main course took from my dining experience however the rest of the party really enjoyed themselves.

Foodwise I had a mushroom starter which was very nice. The mayo accompanying it was very good. For mains I chose a pasta with peppers which was very bland. My friend chose a salmon dish which she also said was bland. We both had a chocolate fudge cake for desert which we both decided wasn't great and it was a bit small in portion size. The presentation of the food overall was very good however. Atmosphere wise the place was buzzing. If the main course and desert had of been better I would have scored higher.

Service was very pleasant and in particular I found the lady on the till most helpful. As it was evening time the atmosphere was a tad quiet however people watching through the large windows was fun. If I had a small gripe it would be that I had to pay 1.90 for a bottle of water as the breakfast includes tea or coffee and I drink neither. Overall though I enjoyed my visit here and I will return again.

Ate here for lunch with a friend. I found the service good at the start of the meal but as the restaurant filled up it wasn't great. We had to wait both for desert menus and to order deserts. Again we had to wait for the bill and then to pay I had to go to the front desk This is something that really annoys me. The servers that we dealt with were fairly pleasant. For mains I had a very tasty beef dish whilst my mate had a chicken salad which she enjoyed. For desert I chose an amaretto cheesecake again very nice. The atmosphere was buzzy with a good mix of diners. My only gripe about this restaurant was that the diner beside me was incessantly speaking loudly on his mobile phone. This is hardly the restaurants fault but it did take from the dining experience. Overall based on todays visit I would return for the food.

Elephant & Castle
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate here with a friend of mine for lunch. I found the service very bad in this establishment. I have given this restaurant the lowest score that I have ever awarded for service. We were seated straight away however following this things went downhill. I will say at this point that the girl who initially took our order was pleasant but different staff kept coming to the table after this none of whom were very pleasant at all. The food arrived quickly enough. The server then said to me you didn't get cloves of garlic with your burger do you want them? I answered that I did but the cloves never manifested themselves. A manger then cleared the table and I asked him to bring me a desert menu which he neglected to do. I then asked another staff member for one and she just stared blankly at me and asked someone else to come to the table, yet again I had to ask for a desert menu. When I eventually got the desert which was first given to my friend I had another wait for the bill. From a food point of view I really enjoyed my burger whilst my companion enjoyed her omlette. The cheesecake desert was very nice too. My friend stated that her seat was in a bad position and people kept banging into her. This restaurant is cramped enough and you can hear everything the people next to you are saying. Atmosphere is alright. Based on todays visit I would recommend this eatery for food but not for service. A better degree of organisation in the dining room would provide a better flow of service and in addition staff need to learn how to smile.

Ate here with my sister and a friend of hers. I found the service to be alright. A couple of the servers could learn how to smile more. The main server at our table was pleasant though. However towards the end of the meal it took a while to obtain a desert menu. There then was another wait to get the bill, once the bill arrived I had to go to the bar to pay as nobody came back to process the payment. I found this unacceptable as the restaurant was practically empty inside and staff were chatting amongst themselves. The lady manager who processed my payment was extremely pleasant and professional. Foodwise I had a soup starter, my sister had a calamari dish whilst her friend had smoked salmon. For mains both my sister and I opted for a fillet steak whilst the third member of the party had lamb. I had a sticky toffee pudding for desert. We all enjoyed the food and in fact the two ladies raved about it. My only gripe was that my steak was a bit chewy in places. The atmosphere was quiet in this eatery. Based on todays visit I may go back sometime in the future to dine here.

I ate here as I had a menupages voucher. The service from start to finish was horrific. Firstly on arrival we were handed lunch menus for a dinner setting by an unfriendly staff member. I then had to ask for a drinks menu to choose a cocktail. Once ordered the main course arrived in ample time however from then on it went pearshaped. Trying to get a desert menu was an ordeal. Again trying to order took ages. Finally another long wait for the bill folllowed by another long wait for the credit card machine to arrive. I didnt find the staff very pleasant and from what I saw there was no management presence in the dining room. Staff were running around like headless chickens. The redeeming factor in this eatery was the food. I had a tasty fillet steak whilst my friend had a chicken dish. For desert I had an eton mess whilst my friend had a apple crumble. I hadn't been here for years and I have to say we both enjoyed our dining experience. The service was smiling and efficient throughout and anytime we needed a drinks refill we didn't even have to ask as it was anticipated by the server. This is something I haven't experienced in this country for a long time. I had a garlic mushroom starter which was both piping hot and tasty. For mains I had a chilli which was tasty and large in portion size. My companion opted for a double burger which he loved. We also had a few cocktails and shots. The atmosphere was buzzing. I would return here again.

Novo
Harry Street, St Stephens Green, Dublin

Ate here using a menu pages voucher and was deeply disappointed. The service despite coming with a smile was a disaster. We had to endure a fifteen minute wait to order and then a further fifteen minute wait to have our main course crockery to be cleared away. This was totally unacceptable as there were only about six other people in the restaurant with three staff on duty.. We both had a mushroom soup which was tasteless. My companion had a prawn pasta dish which she described as bland. I declined a main course and had a tiny panna cotta for desert. The restaurant lacked atmosphere its only redeeming factor was the great selection of music played. Based on todays visit I will not be returning here.

I used to eat here every Sunday when it opened first. I hadn't been for years so I decided to give it a try. The service was extremely pleasant and all staff I encountered were very nice. The food was very tasty I had a smokestack burger with sweet potato fries my companion opting for a tex mex hot dog with cheese fries. The atmosphere was fine with a good selection of music playing in the background. My only problem with this branch was that the credit card machine was broken so please get it fixed for when I come back again.

For mains I had a generous slice of homemade lasagne accompanied by garlic bread which I loved. My companion chose a quattro frommagio pizza which he raved about. I had a slice of cheesecake for desert whilst my companion had a rhubarb crumble. Both deserts were very enjoyable. This eatery offers excellent value for money. The atmosphere was fine albeit a tad quiet. I will return here again.

Have been eating here on and off for years. I love the location and views. This evening we went for dinner and I found the service to be good but it could have been more smiling. I chose a soup starter which was very good in both taste and portion size. My companion ordered off the set menu and chose a starter of chicken liver pate followed by a main of guinea fowl both of which he loved. For my main I had a perfectly cooked very tasty fillet steak on a bed of onion mash. We declined deserts. The atmosphere is nice here the only problem I would have is that there were a few children wandering around unsupervised. Based on todays visit and in addition past visits here I would both return and recommend this establishment.

I used to come here a lot years ago so I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did because I had a very enjoyable dining experience indeed. Service was provided by two very pleasant gentlemen. For starters I had a curried butternut squash soup with corn bread whilst my companion had popcorn fish bites. We both really enjoyed our starters. For mains I chose meat loaf with mashed sweet potato. I loved my main course. My companion had fried chicken which was a huge portion and she like me loved her main too. We were rushing to see a play so we skipped deserts which was a pity as I would loved to have tried their selection. We were seated in a side dining room which was very nice. On leaving the manager thanked me for my business by name something which really impressed me. I will be returning here again very soon.

Ate here with two friends of mine who had been before and really enjoyed it. The service was provided by an extremely pleasant young woman. For starters I had a chicken and sweetcorn soup. Both my friends had spring rolls for their starters. For mains I had beef in a black bean sauce. One friend opted for a chicken curry whilst the other had chicken and pineapple. I had profiteroles for desert whilst the others had ice cream. All of us enjoyed the food. This restaurant offers great value for money and the waitress told us that they are introducing a fifteen euro three course lunch soon. The only downside was that on the day we visited it was a tad quiet which took a little from the atmosphere. Overall however an enjoyable experience and I would return.

Ate here as I had a menupages voucher and I have to say I really did not enjoy my experience at all. Firstly on seating the server took my friends jacket to hang it but neglected to take mine. The service was unsmiling throughout. The staff spent the time talking amongst themselves up the stairs away from the dining area the customers seemed to be the last thing on their minds. For starters I had a chilli jacket potato which was fine except for the vast amount of kidney beans that were in the chilli. My friend had a starter of prawns which she enjoyed. For mains I ordered scampi and chips which were awful the scampi being burnt and dried up. The chips were tasteless. My companion declined a main and desert. I chose a strawberry cheesecake for desert which wasn't very nice at all. My drink needed a refill however by the time I was asked if I wanted another I had finished my main course. The atmosphere was alright nothing special. Based on todays visit I would not return here again.

At here with a friend the other night and really enjoyed it. I hadn't been here in over ten years. The service was excellent and was provided by an extremely pleasant young woman. A couple of other servers came to the table at various times and they were equally as nice. Any special requests were met without any fuss whatsoever. Being a cold evening my companion chose a hot port for starters. I chose a chicken soup which I really enjoyed. It came served with a hot slice of brown bread a very nice touch indeed. For mains I chose a spaghetti and meatballs dish which I enjoyed. My companion had a sirloin steak which she really enjoyed. For desert I had a biscuit cake which was served hot with chocolate sauce and ice cream. I loved this. My mate had a coffee. The atmosphere was very good with nice music playing in the background. The restaurant filled up quite quickly whilst we were there. I would definitely return here to this most centrally located eatery. Thank you menu pages for providing me with a voucher for a free main course.

Had eaten here before but not for a long time. Service was fine but staff could smile more. I had meatballs and 2 sliders. My mate had a smokestack burger and cheese fries with an oreo shake. The majority of the food was fine with the exception of the fries which were a tad soggy and tasteless. The atmosphere was okay. I would try here again due to its location and hopefully next time the fries will be crispy and tasty.

My friend had a double burger and cheese fries with a brownie shake. He really enjoyed his food. The atmosphere was good. My only gripe would be that we requested two songs on the juke box but never got to hear them. All in all a good dining experience.

Took a friend her for her Christmas present and we both really enjoyed the food particularly in its very good taste and quirky presentation. Service was pleasant and smiling throughout and I must say all the servers were very well groomed. For starters I had a soup which was piping hot and tasty. My friend opted for a pork terrine which she enjoyed. For mains I had a shepards pie my friend choosing sea bream. Finally I had a cheesecake which came served in a glass jar my friend having a chocolate cake with a glass of desert wine. The atmosphere was fine. I really enjoyed the view of Trinity. The only thing I did not like was that one of the servers asked me on seating if I would like a glass of prosecco and asked my friend twice if she would like an Irish coffee. If there is one thing that really annoys me it is servers asking if I would like certain things. If I want a prosecco I will order one and if my friend would have liked an Irish coffee she would have ordered it. I did however enjoy my meal here and I would recommend a visit here.

My first time eating here and what an enjoyable dining experience we had. The service was excellent and provided by a team of extremely pleasant staff. I even got to speak spanish with a female member of staff. From a food point of view both myself and my dining companion both remarked on the high quality and excellent presentation of the food. Tortilla chips were brought the table when we sat down. These were accompanied by two very nice dips. For starters I had a chilli and tomato soup whilst my companion chose nachos. For mains I had meatballs which were beautifully flavoured. The mexican bread which accompanied them was very nice.My companion gad chicken fajitas. For desert I chose a tres leches cake whilst my companion had a mexican bread and butter pudding.I have to mention the presentation of my desert at this juncture. It was a work of art. There were strawberry shapes of beautifully tasting strawberry sauce in the custard that accompanied my desert. All in all we had a beautiful evening and I will be back very soon again.

I hadn't been here for years so I decided to give it a try and I am very glad I did. A five star goes to the girl who served us. Warm and genuinely nice in addition to being extremely efficient at her job. I haven't experienced service as good as this in a long time. For starters I had garlic mushrooms which were fab.I then had roast beef for mains which was perfectly cooked with not a speck of fat in sight. The mash that accompanied it was both fresh and piping hot. My companion opted for a burger which she enjoyed. For desert I had a sherry trifle my companion had chocolate fudge cake. We both really enjoyed our desert. The cream on my trifle was of the real type and not of the spray variety. The homely atmosphere was very nice and the booth type seating was great as it afforded us the quietness to be able to converse easily. I met a work colleague here too and she informed me that she is a regular customer. You cannot get a more centrally located restaurant in Dublin than Flanagans. I would highly recommend a visit here. We ate here for a Christmas staff get together. When the leader of our group was booking she was asked to pay a deposit as she was told it would be very busy. On arrival however it was a different matter altogether. We along with another similar sized party were the only people in the place. The service was very good. It was single handedly provided by an extremely pleasant gentleman. We all had a glass of mulled wine which was nice. For starters I had a soup which was tasty. Some of the party opted for the soup whilst others had mozzarella and tomato starter. For mains I along with a couple of the others had steak which two of us found a bit chewy. The vegetables that accompanied the mains were fine. The others mostly chose turkey and ham which looked alright however three of the party stated that they did not enjoy it. My white chocolate desert was fine however one of the party who had a cranberry and almond tart stated that it was too dry. I found the dining room lacked atmosphere and it was a tad cold on our visit. Based on todays visit I don't think I would return here.

My third time to stay in this fantastic hotel. Whilst I have had dinner in the restaurant on both of my previous stays, this time I just breakfasted in the restaurant. Nevertheless the experience was most enjoyable in every respect. The service is flawless. The staff here go out of their way to make you feel welcome. This coupled with an efficient flow of service makes one want to just keep coming back again and again. The choice of food available at the breakfast service is vast and would suit everybody. This hotel overlooks the beautiful lakes and mountains of Killarney and whilst seated in the restaurant you are afforded fantastic views of the surrounding area. The atmosphere is very nice indeed. This is my first time to award a five star rating and it is very well deserved in this case. During my stay here I ate in the bar on two occasions and I found the food of an equally high standard again served in a very nice atmosphere. The service was again very good indeed. I am looking forward to my next stay here already.

We ate in the bar which is bright and airy. The atmosphere was good with a mixed bag of customers. I noticed on their menu that they do three fast track lunch dishes a day which are guaranteed to be ready in around 12 minutes. This is ideal for people who are on a fast turnaround and I find this idea very good. A lot of eateries should follow suit. I would return here again for both the food and the service.

I started with a soup my dining companion chose a mushroom tartlet which he loved. We both had a perfectly cooked fillet of beef for mains. For desert I had a strawberry shortbread my companion chose an Eton mess. My only quibble would be that my desert was a tad mall in comparison to his Eton mess. We were the last to leave but we were by no means rushed something I really liked. This eatery has a pleasant atmosphere and is decorated with various different artifacts from the past which add to its attractiveness. Ate here before and had a perfectly enjoyable experience. However on today's visit good food was let down by badly organised service. We were firstly seated in an area near where a childrens party was taking place. The noise level was a tad too high for my liking so I asked to be moved which we were. For starters I had bruschetta which was very nice if a tad overpriced at 6.95. My companion declined a starter. For mains I had a pizza my companion opting for a salad. The mains were served by a manager who asked if we wanted ground pepper to which we said we would. When she went to get the pepper she proceeded to deal with two other tables. In the meantime she forgot to get the pepper. By the time we eventually got someones attention to obtain the pepper we had half eaten our meals. It took ages for somebody to clear our table and when we asked for desert menus they were forgotten. We eventually got our deserts which were nice and then had to endure a thirty minute wait for our bill. Staff were literally running around like headless chickens and there was no flow of service or continuity in who served you. A couple beside us walked out having not been served and a party of three behind us were also complaining. I brought my friend here as a treat however the good food was let down by bad service and bad organisation. What I liked about here was the food, location and despite the bad service the fact the staff were smiling. The negative is plain the fact that the whole experience was let down by chaotic service. On today's visit I don't think I will return here. Management need to get their act together or else they will loose huge business as there are plenty more places to eat nearby.

Deserts were lovely in particular my berry tiramisu which came served in a cocktail glass. The atmosphere was buzzing here as there was a large party who were really getting into the mood of things. Being onboard a ship really gives this eatery a great uniqueness which further enhances ones dining experience. It is within a walking distance of Dublins city centre and is proximal to all the hotels on the quays in addition to the O2 venue. This eatery gives an overall excellent dining experience. I had previously eaten in the bar here. Today we chose the restaurant but perhaps we would have been wiser going to the bar. We two along with three other people were the only patrons in the place. On arrival we were sternly asked if we had a reservation. Even though we did it was hardly important due to the emptiness of the place. I didn't find the service great here. It could have been more smiling, friendly and attentive. The people next to us were sorting out the final touches to their wedding reception which was going to be held in this establishment. Staff were fussing over their table much to the neglect of ours. On a more positive note the food was very good in taste, temperature and presentation. The lunch menu offered a fair enough choice of food. I found the atmosphere lacking in this eatery mostly due to the small number of patrons who were seated in a large empty dining room. In addition the butter which accompanied the tasty bread rolls came served in two chipped dishes which I find totally unacceptable. In relation to here I found relatively good value for money food tainted by poor service and lack of atmosphere. On todays visit I would not return to the restaurant but would perhaps opt for the bar food in future.

I used to eat here when it opened first and then I hadn't been for a long time until I tried it earlier in the year. What let it down on my last visit was a rude waiter who could have done with a visit to charm school. The service I experienced today was nothing short of excellent from a group of smiling and efficient young ladies. There was also a management presence in the dining room and to a see a manager actually doing some serving whilst speaking to the customers impressed me. As this meal was a treat for my birthday I was looking forward to a good dining experience. What I experienced in Il Corvo tonight was indeed a most enjoyable experience. For starters both my father and myself had meatballs my mother opting for squid. This was followed by a cacciatore pasta dish for myself. My father had the fish special which was sea bass my mother choosing risotto. For deserts I had tiramisu, Mother a portion of ice cream smothered in Baileys and Dad a brandy. Il Corvo is on Drumcondra Road and is handy for all the nearby hotels and guesthouses in the area. In addition it is on the main airport road. For Anyone visiting Croke Park for a match it is within walking distance too. What I enjoyed about here was the service and indeed the food. A couple of things that I did not like were that I felt that the starters were a tad overpriced and that the sea bass was a little pricey at 25.00. My Mother remarked that the rice used used in the Risotto was not arborio rice however she did enjoy it. Despite my little gripe over the price of the starters and sea bass the total overall bill represented good value for money. I will return to Il Corvo based on tonights visit.

My fifth visit here and I look forward to my next visit already. On tonights visit I was welcomed back by the waiter who had served me the last time which | thought was a nice touch. We were also served by two other waiters tonight the first of which was as pleasant and efficient as the one mentioned above. The second however was surly and could do with learning how to smile and be a little bit more interactive with patrons. The food as always was excellent. We were firstly offered beautiful homemade bread with some muffins. For starters I chose a soup whilst my companion had a salad. We both had steaks for mains which were perfectly cooked to order. To accompany the steaks we had whipped potato and a small portion of onion strings. The whipped potato is one of the nicest I have ever tasted. As always and as mentioned before the onion strings were vast in portion size. Being so full we skipped desert. Shanahan's is a lovely restaurant great for a any occasion and every visit there is special. Their special menu offers great value if you dine early in the evening. Unit 1 First Floor, New Street, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

I have eaten here before and have always enjoyed it. Today I decided to come for lunch which was enjoyable. The service for most of the meal was provided by a single server who was in turn serving the whole restaurant. Another girl did join her towards the end of our meal. In saying this I didn't find the service slow and it was pleasant enough. I had a meatball starter my companion passing on this. For mains I had a burger and my companion had a chicken dish. We both had a desert my companion having a chocolate cake and myself a crepe. This restaurant is in the centre of Malahide and the atmosphere is fine. The restaurant is decorated nicely and is bright and airy. The toilets were sparkling clean. I think the food offered here is very good and in addition this restaurant offers great value for money on both its lunch and early bird menus. My only gripe was that my desert portion was tiny and I would have eaten a few more crepes. I will return here again.

The River Cafe
Raheny Shopping Centre, Howth Road, Raheny, Raheny, Dublin

I used to eat here a lot but hadn't been for a while. My main quibble about this establishment is that the service is extremely slow and incessantly unsmiling with the exception of the lady on the till who is always pleasant. You are left standing at the counter waiting for someone to take your order. Eventually when you do get served you then have to queue to pay by which time people who are only having coffees or confectionery move ahead of you to pay.On todays visit there were no clean knives and somebody had to ask for these. The food when you eventually get it is always tasty and enjoyable. Ready meals are available and having tried I must say that they are very good. The seating area itself is bright and the walls are festooned with a vast selection of nice paintings available for purchase. What I like about here is the food. The service however leaves a lot to be desired. Staff need to be trained in good customer service to include providing a fast and efficient smiling service. I hope management take note of the above and implement it. In turn a much higher score would be given by me should I write another review in the future.

Out Of The Blue Bistro
Ballinatray, Courtown, Courtown, Wexford

I ate here with two friends and I found this restaurant to be very enjoyable indeed. The service was fine and any special requests were met with a can do response. My choice of starter was unavailable but when I asked for a plate of garlic bread it was produced without a problem. My two companions chose chicken wings and pate which they both enjoyed. For mains I had a mild beef curry which I asked to be spiced up a little and one companion chose a fillet steak whilst the other had a pasta dish. The vegetables and potatoes that came with the mains were huge in size. All of us really enjoyed the main course I had a decent sized portion of profiteroles to finish my companions admitting defeat. This eatery is right in the heart of Courtown harbour and is very handy for anyone holidaying in the neighbouring area. The atmosphere was good and the restaurant boasts a bar adjoining the main dining area. I will be returning to the area soon and I will return to this restaurant.

Sure Bar @ Radisson Blu Royal Hotel
Golden Lane, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I had occasion to stay at this hotel as I was attending a party there. I firstly tried out the room service menu which was fair enough albeit a little over priced. The burger and fries (18 euro) was tasty enough from a burger point of view but what let it down was the fries which were of the frozen variety. Some hand cut fries would have been much nicer. The desert a mille feuille which was described on the menu as raspberry, presented itself as strawberry was nevertheless very nice indeed on a par with the produce of a French patisserie. At the party we were served a starter choice of either a tomato soup or a tomato and cheese tartlet to be followed by either fillet of beef or salmon as a main course. To finish lemon tart was served. Everybody on my table agreed that the food was very good and coupled with excellent service it made a most enjoyable dining experience for all. A good management presence at all times in this modern well decorated roomy function hall impressed me. The atmosphere was electric at the party as a lot of people were meeting up with old friends and family. In addition we had some of the best entertainers in the business singing for us. As a hotel I found all staff with the exception of one barman who could learn to smile and be less sharp to be extremely well trained and groomed. If you are thinking of having a party, staying a night in Dublin or just having a lunch or dinner try this venue it certainly did it for me.

King Sitric Fish Restaurant
East Pier, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

I have been coming here for a long time now and The King Sitric is one of my favourite restaurants. The service here is always impeccable with an added personal touch. The food is always of a consistently good standard and the Dublin Bay prawns are out of this world. There are various types of menu on offer a tasting menu, a set menu and and a la carte menu all of which offer a great choice of dishes to suit every palate. When in season a very good game menu is offered too. From a location point of view this restaurant is in a perfect spot adjacent to the pier where one can go for a nice walk either before or after dining. In addition the sea views available from the dining room are superb. If you are out in Howth or indeed are living there try the King Sitric you wont be disappointed. I am looking forward to my next visit here and perhaps I may try out the adjoining bed and breakfast that the Sitric also offer.

Courtyard Restaurant
Carnegie Court Hotel, North Street, Swords, Swords, Dublin

I ate here at a relations birthday party. Despite it being a very large party the service was both efficient and smiling. We ordered off the early bird menu which offered a very good choice of food at a very affordable price. I personally had a garlic mushroom starter followed by a beef and guinness pie both of which were very good in taste, temperature and portion size. My desert was a passion fruit cake which was most enjoyable. Everyone else on my table agreed that the food was very good The location of this establishment is ideal for anyone either living in or visiting Swords. On the night we were there the atmosphere was very good in a very well lit, nicely decorated and spacious dining room. I really enjoyed my visit here the only gripe was that if you wanted to order a drink with your dinner you had to go to the bar yourself. I would return here again and I would recommend it as a place to eat in Swords.

Eddie Rockets (Santry)
The Omni Shopping Centre, North Dublin, Santry, Dublin

I am a regular customer here and I am never disappointed with the food. 95% of the time the service is very good but on the odd occasion it can be a bit scattered. Today however the service was fine. The food ( I had 4 slider burgers with fries and my companion had a cheese burger with bacon and cheese fries) was most enjoyable, fresh and piping hot. The location of this branch is very handy for both the neighbouring cinema and omni shopping centre. The atmosphere is always good with great music playing and a customer base of mixed ages. Eddie Rockets now have a new menu with an excellent choice of food to suit all. I love the food in Eddies however the price can be a little on the dear side. I would recommend you to visit here you wont be disappointed.

Durty Nelly's
Bunratty , Bunratty, Clare

Ate here with my mother and a friend in the restaurant section. This was my second visit here. On arrival it took a while to be seated as even though the staff noticed us waiting they took their time in seating us. Once we ordered our food arrived fairly quickly. It then took ages for both the table to be cleared and to obtain a desert menu. However once ordered the deserts arrived fairly quickly. The service for the most part was unsmiling. The food was very good and everyone in the party enjoyed it. The location of Durty Nelly's is Proximal to the nearby Bunratty folk park and castle and also very near to Shannon airport. The atmosphere was fine on the day we were there and the customers consisted mostly of tourists. I enjoyed the food and location of this eatery however I feel the service could be more polished and smiling. I would return here and would recommend this venue for food and hopefully the next time I will be met with a smile.

Brams Cafe
4 St Aidans Park Road, Marino, Dublin

I have been coming here for years. Brams is a great place with excellent smiling service. The moment I arrive my constant choice of beverage arrives on my table the moment I sit down. Today having worked all night I opted for a hot breakfast which was freshly cooked to order. My companion had her regular veggie breakfast which she loves. Brams is also very good for lunch their menu has a great choice which has something to suit all. You can also order a lunch special which comes with a desert at a very affordable price. The atmosphere here is always buzzing. Brams is served by a vast bus network and Clontarf Road DART station is within a stonesthrow. Try Brams soon you will love it.

The Red Bank House & Restaurant
5-7 Church Street, Skerries, Skerries, Dublin

I have been coming here for quite a while now and I always enjoy The Red bank's great food and great service. The staff here always provide a warm welcome. Tonight I had a celery soup, mushrooms oporto for starters and prawns Napoleon for my main. My dining companion had a black pudding starter and a chicken main. We then both chose delicious deserts from the famous desert trolley. It is great being able to view the trolley and choose exactly what you want. I must also say at this point that the prawns here are among the best I have ever tasted perfectly cooked. The atmosphere here was very good and the restaurant was practically full. We also had a visit to our table from the owner to check if everything was alright which for me is good p.r. The early bird menu offers excellent value for money. I would recommend the red bank for a visit you will not be disappointed. I look forward to my next visit here.

Louies Bistro
20 Mountjoy Square East, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

This was my second visit here and this occasion was for my Dad to celebrate fathers day. The service provided here is pleasant, efficient and consistently good. With regards to food a well put together menu provides good choices to suit every palate. In addition there are daily specials for one to choose from. Three of us opted for a potato and red onion soup starter whilst the fourth party member chose a crab starter both of which being very good. I had a fillet steak, my father had the fish special which on this occasion was brill. The remaining two in the party had steaks. Everybody agreed the main courses were very good in quality, taste, presentation, and portion size. We also had some skinny fries which were fab. To finish three of us had an apple parcel each and the remaining person had a chocolate bombe again all of us were most satisfied. The atmosphere in the restaurant was buzzing and it was practically full. It is very tastefully decorated. I would highly recommend you to visit here. This restaurant has a special place in my heart not only for its excellent food and surroundings but also due to the fact that my grandmother lived in this very building in the 1920's

The Station House
3-5 Station Road, Raheny, Dublin

I used to come here a lot but I haven't been here in ages. On the day I ate here I found the service at the carvery to be fast, helpful and pleasant. The choice of food offered was very good and the food was all well presented. Any requests were met with a can do response. Both my companion and I chose scampi which was freshly cooked and we both enjoyed it very much. I had a desert of apple pie which was served heated with lashings of ice cream again most enjoyable. The station house is a great place for a quick lunch consisting of good home made food. In addition a beer garden provides a nice setting for dining al fresco on a sunny day. I will be back again.

Kajjal
7 The Green, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

My third visit here and I always enjoy this restaurant. The service on this visit was smiling however it could have been more ordered. We had to wait ages for our used starter crockery to be collected. Our main course arrived promptly but we had to wait yet again for the bill to arrive. Another small issue that both my companion and I observed was that the soft drinks contained far too much ice. The food however was excellent I had a beef starter and lamb main and my companion opted for a squid starter followed by a chicken main. The atmosphere was buzzing in this well designed and well decorated restaurant. Despite the shortcomings in service I did really enjoy my visit here. I would recommend everyone to try Kajjal you wont be disappointed. Another nice feature this restaurant has is booths which must be specifically requested at the time of booking.

Oscar Taylor Restaurant
Island View Hotel, Coast Road, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

I tried the carvery here as we were out in Malahide for the afternoon. The girl serving was very pleasent, efficient and helpful. The woman taking the cash was unsmiling and could do with a refresher course in customer service. From a food point of view the carvery offered a good choice of different types of food that would suit everybody. The Food itself was very good in taste, temperature and portion size. Half size portions are readily available should one require this. Deserts were satisfactory. Everyone in my party was satisfied with what they had eaten. As it was a sunny day we retired to an area outside in the sun were patio tables and chairs are present. On the basis of this visit I would return again and I hope the next time I pay I will be met with a smile.

Cinnabar @ Crowne Plaza Hotel Northwood
Santry Demesne, North Dublin, Santry, Dublin

I hadn't eaten here for ages but I have actually eaten twice here in the last month. The service I recieved (from the same server on each visit) was both pleasant and efficient. On both occasions I found the food of a good standard. The first time I had a burger and the second time a made to order sandwich with a bacon and lentil soup. The menu offers a good choice of dishes. I would attend here again based on my last two visits.

The Atrium Lounge
The Westin Hotel, College Green, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

A favourite of mine for a long time now. The atrium is great for a pre theatre snack, a post shopping afternoon tea or a fab pre club cocktail. Well groomed staff provide pleasant and smiling service. The choice of hot and cold snacks provided is very good. In particular I love the fact that I can design my own sandwich to my taste. The desert menu is also very nice. The tables are always draped in lovely white linen and one can relax in comfortable couches. The Westin is a prime location and is proximal to both the Henry Street and Grafton Street shopping areas of Dublin's city centre. The toilets are always beautifully clean.I would recommend everyone to visit here in order to soak up its lovely atmosphere and to sample its tasty fare.

Kinara Restaurant
318 Clontarf Road, North Co. Dublin , Clontarf, Dublin

I have been eating here for years and it is by far my favourite Indian restaurant. The standard of service is always exceptionally high. In relation to their food it is always excellent with a great selection of dishes offered by their menu. My favourite dishes for starters would be either aloo tikki potato cakes or the beautifully spiced behari kebab. For my mains I love the keema aloo served with chewal rice and paratha bread. For the desert the honey cake is a must. The restaurant is in a very good location the only problem can sometimes be parking but generally a parking spot can be found within a short distance. The sea view afforded by the window seating is lovely too. I always reserve a table in Kinara as it very well attended throughout the week. Looking forward to my next visit here.

Restaurant Ten Fourteen
324 Clontarf Road, Clontarf, Dublin

My fourth visit here and I have to say I am always pleased with the excellent service offered in Ten Fourteen. Today I ate here for a colleagues retirement party. Before sitting inside to dine we were afforded the chance to have a drink outside the restaurant and being such a sunny day this was enjoyed by everyone. The food as always was excellent, piping hot, well presented and decent in portion size. I opted for a soup starter followed by a gourmet sausage both of which were very good. Most of my colleagues opted for the mussel starter which they all loved. For mains they either had duck or fish and chips and again the comments were very positive. The location of Ten Fourteen is perfect and easily accessible.Diners near the window can enjoy the vista of Dublin bay. My twelve colleagues that I attended with had nothing but good things to say about their visit. The other brilliant thing about Ten Fourteen is that the profits go to CASA. I will be back very soon again.

Mulino's
23 Watermill road, North Dublin, Dublin 5, Raheny, Dublin

On my recent trip to Mulino's I found the service to be both pleasant and attentive. There was also a good management presence in the restaurant and every table was asked if everything was alright with their food. For my starter I had the meatball dish which was tasty. This was followed by the burger which came with a very nice pepper sauce in a jug which was a nice touch. My companion opted for a starter of a fish cake followed by a main of chicken on a skewer both of which she enjoyed. To finish I opted for tiramisu and an amaretto. My companion had the cheesecake and a coffee. Our bill came to 72 euro which was good value for money for what we had eaten. I found the atmosphere pleasant with a pianist playing in the background. The toilets were very clean as was the restaurant itself. Its location is good as there are only a few places to eat in Raheny. In addition they have a vast menu with various choices. I will return here again.

The Bailey Cafe Bar
Barrack Street,, Wexford, Enniscorthy, Wexford

We ate here on a recent steam train tour to Enniscorthy and I have to say we were not disappointed. The service was attentive, helpful and came with a smile. Any request was met with a can do response. I ate an all day brunch which was most tasty and filling. My two companions both opted for the catch of the day which in this case was plaice and came with a glass of wine for only 15 euro. The portion size of the fish was excellent and both ladies remarked on its extreme tastiness. The location of this eatery is very central and is proximal to the nearby shopping area. I found the toilets to be in a clean condition. I have another steam train trip soon and I look forward to dining here again.
