My Favourite restaurant in town. Consistently great Food and Service. The staff are knowledgable on all the food and wines and always make myself and my wife feel very welcome and never rushed. Can't believe they haven't won more awards.. I suppose there not in Dublin!!

Had Dinner with my Wife recently, and i must say it was the most enjoyable meal we have had out this year. The food was beautifully cooked by a Chef on top of his game. The service from start to finish was efficient, unobtrusive, knowlegable. The only downside was a Wine list which doesn't match the food. Not the sommeliers fault as they are limited to one supplier. The dessert was so good we had to order another. A delight from start to finish. I'd reccomend it too any foodie looking for a treat!

Gourmet Burger Bistro
8 Bridge Street, Cork City, Cork

I would like to say this place was good.. As i love a good burger!! As far as burgers go it was fine. But Fine is not what they are selling. They are selling Gourmet Burgers and Gourmet they certainly are not. The service was adequate but not very personal. The decor is fresh and not overstated. The wine list is so poor and overpriced it's obviously not for their target audience. The menu is large and as is the norm these days is your placemat. Nice!!! It's a mish mash of ideas. Nothing new nothing different, and when opening in a recession that's a bad idea. I can see this burger joint busy for a while but there are better places in Cork for (Burgers) and better value. Nice try but should have put more thought into the concept. Sorry!

The Boardwalk Bar and Grill
Lapps Quay, Cork City, Cork

What Can i Say about the most anticipated Restaurant to open in Cork this year except to say it was a shambles.. The menu is something from 10 years ago with nothing new or innovative on it. Burgers, fish & chips and tartare sauce, Wow Exciting! The Wine list is the sorriest excuse of a list i've seen in years. Full of Offlicence and forecourt wines Appallling. To pass off guigal cotes de rhone for €32 when you can buy it for about €8-10 is a shocking disrepectful way to treat educated discerning customers. Staff who are not busy but can't find the time to straighten stools, reset tables properly or polish all the fingerprints off the front glass door. The food was as unimaginative as it gets. Cutting edge this certainly isn't For the foodies out there don't waste your money. For the owners i'm sure it'lll be busy through xmas, i'd plan for a quite new year!
