I come here all the time and the food is always great. Chicken wings are fantastic. Went with a group of 24 recently and everyone was happy with what they received - a real achievement I say on the part of the Canal Bank.

I regularly eat here because it's only down the road. They do fantastic chicken wings! The service can be sooo patchy though - especially during busy times. Restaurant seems unable to cope when nearing maximum capacity. Prices are not too bad but high for what is only marginally above average pub grub.

Harte's Bar & Grill
Market Square, Kildare Town, Kildare Town, Kildare

What a gem! I was delighted to stumble on this gorgeous, cosy restaurant with a wonderful ambience, friendly and attentive staff and smashing food. I had the hake and it tasted as great as it looked.

The Seafood Bar at Kirwan's Lane Restaurant
Kirwan's Lane, Galway City, Galway

Each of the times I've been here has been a truly special experience. The welcome, the signature dishes, the menu, the wine .. are super and I can't think of another restaurant in Ireland (including some of Dublin's finest!) with seafood as spectacular. I've been here with large groups of foodies and everyone's been delighted with what they ordered. The mini pork pie is my favourite!

O'Connells Restaurant Donnybrook
135 Morehampton Road, Donnybrook, D04 HX46, Donnybrook, Dublin

Absolutely gorgeous place. Very busy for a Thursday evening. Even though we were on a Grab One deal we received the very best of service from the really friendly and highly professional staff. Food was beautiful. Traditional Irish food (which is a rare treat to see) served to perfection in a very relaxed environment. Looking forward to going back already.

Las Tapas
Old Bray Road,, Cabinteely Village, South Dublin, Cabinteely, Dublin

Love it! I'm a huge fan of tapas (love the variety) and this place really reminds of long, hot foodie nights in Spain. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is brilliant (especially on the weekends). You can get a flavour for the craic by looking at the gallery on their website. Food wise: I really enjoyed the calamari, the chorizo and chickpea stew, the antipasto and the wings. House white is yummy too. Enjoy!

Da Vinci's
31 Deansgrange Road, Deansgrange, Dublin

Yummy pizza(!!), great location and very friendly staff.

Hartley's Restaurant
1 Harbour Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Hartleys is just gorgeous. A lovely old-world, glamorous feel and there's an impeccable quality to the food and service. The menu had a good range of choices. It was a lovely treat.

Harrys Cafe Bar
21 Upper George's Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Harry's has always been round the corner from me but I was really pleasantly surprised by how lovely the place is in the evenings when we got a voucher for there recently. It's very reasonable, the staff are lovely, the evening ambience very relaxed and the food was absolutely delicious. Menu caters for a wide variety of tastes also. Great value. Looking forward to going again soon.

Horse & Hound (Dublin)
The Horse & Hound, Cabinteely, Cabinteely, Dublin

I love this place for drinks but recently had a bite while watching the match. It was very tastey, substantial and great value. The staff here are ultra friendly and seem (remarkably) to remember you no matter how long it's been since your last visit. Their pepper sauce is great!

ely bar & brasserie
CHQ Building, Georges Dock, Dublin 1, City Centre, IFSC, Dublin

I thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips for lunch and all of the rest of a party of 9 were very pleased with what they got. The place itself is gorgeous, with a real caverness and special ambience. The staff were very attentive and left us wanting for nothing. Great menu BTW.

Baan Thai (Leopardstown)
Central Park, Block P, Dublin 18, Leopardstown, Dublin

The food is out of this world! Thai beef salad is delicious (if you like it spicy!). The ambience is great with strong and pretty decor to support it. Funny location alright but what does it matter when you're inside. The staff could have been warmer / friendlier when we got there. We nearly considered leaving actually because of that but we were all glad we didn't. We ate like queens and we were well looked after.

Oliveto Restaurant & Bar
Oliveto At The Haddington, 9-12 Haddington Terrace, Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

The most authentic italian food I've enjoyed in a long time. A big step away from the usual italian-esque (and often greasey) fair in restaurants in Ireland. If you like thin crust pizzas - then don't miss out on Oliveto's. Prices as they are though means that Oliveto will remain an occasional treat rather than an every-day thing for me. Worth a visit - definitely.

Seapoint Restaurant
4 The Crescent, Monkstown, Dublin, Monkstown, Dublin

The service, decor and menu were impeccable. Really tasteful decorations on the tree. Food was yummy and with an unusual twist. Don't miss out on their rosemary fries! The apple and pear dessert is a real winner too.

Il Segreto
13a/b Merrion Row, City Centre South, Dublin

Wow! This restaurant is the best I've been to in a long, long time. The food was sublime, the service very attentive, the setting just perfect (warm and very modern) - and everything came with a smile. We all enjoyed what we had and the evening immensely and we'll be going back again soon!

The Market Bar
Fade Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here recently for bday celebrations. Packed with a nice crowd and a great atmosphere. We got a table in less than the time we were promised and the food was absolutely yummy! Great selection - even for vegetarians. The only thing I would say is that the prices did seem quite high - €161 for tapas and beer for 5 people but there were couple of rounds of drinks in there and one large dessert which we shared as well. All in all - a great, lively spot!

Gourmet Food Parlour Dun Laoghaire
7 Cumberland Street, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Excellent quality produce, prepared and served to perfection. The sandwich choice is ample and all that I have tasted were fantastic. It is pricey though and as such, for me - it remains an occasional treat.

Bakers Corner
Kill Avenue, Kill O’The Grange, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Very good food at very reasonably prices and a full bar to boot! The staff here are friendly and the menu is huge. A lot of the food tends to be fried but there are other options too. There is a huge carpark outside.

Poppies (Dun Laoghaire)
70 Georges Street Upper, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Wow! Great country cooking at very reasonable prices. A haven of real food amongst many synthetic-style eateries in the area. They offer a great take-away menu as well which is a great save when you don't fancy cooking but want to have something reasonably healthy.

Mao Restaurant (Dun Laoghaire)
The Pavillion, South Co, Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I find this restaurant to be very hit and miss. Unfortunately I have ordered the same dish a number of times but it is served differently almost always. The restaurant is very conveniently located though beside the dart station and along several buss routes.

profile_review

Toscana (Dun Laoghaire)
5 Windsor Terrace, South Co. Dublin , Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I've been here on several occasions and generally find it satisfactory. Not amazing and never bad though. The food is tasty but many dishes tend to come with the same sauce - even though they are described very differently on the menu. There is ample parking across the road and a Dart station very nearby. The view (if you can get a window seat - is fabulous!).

Dungeon Bar & Grill
Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel, Killiney, Dublin

Eight of us ate here recently for a family birthday (toddler in toe). The staff were very accommodating and attentive and we got a great table. The food is good quality - ideal for family events when you want to get together for a nice meal but without blowing the budget. One thing I would say is that they are quite stingy with the sides. for six or eight people who ordered (and paid for) chips as a side, enough for three were presented. When we asked for more - they were charged separately at €4.95. All in all a lovely experience though.

Bits and Pizzas

Very yummy pizza, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Great value places like these are hard to come by these days!

Maia Restaurant
47 Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Yesterday I met a friend for lunch in Maia. It was lashing rain outside so I was delighted to find ample parking very close by. The restaurant was heaving with business clientele and there was a nice lively vibe in the place. We were provided with nice, large diet cokes and a menu promptly. The food arrived within ten minutes of ordering and it was cooked to perfection. I could have fed a family of six with what came with the burger - it was a very generous portion - which I'm sure is greatly appreciated by male guests. The fries really are quite something special and nearly makes Maia worth visiting for alone. Service was fine and two mains and two soft drinks were priced at a reasonable €35 - not bad at all.

The Eagle House
18 Glasthule Road, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

My absolute favourite place for lunch! The food is the nicest for miles and the staff are so friendly. For €7 you can get a great range of consistently excellent food and if you want to, you can be in and out again in half an hour. Would highly recommend this place. Very funky outdoor area upstairs too!

profile_review

Le Petit Cochon
Glasthule Road, Sandycove, Dublin

An enjoyable, (almost) fine dining experience. but not quite for the every day - unless you can afford it. Great wine selection and very good food. Staff are attentive but the atmosphere was slightly less than virbrant. Maybe it's different on the weekends though!

profile_review

Cafe Leon
Wicklow Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Fantastic coffee. Beautiful decor. Very comfortable and authentic French atmosphere. It's almost like being away but the heart of the city centre is just outside the door!

profile_review

The Cellar Restaurant
The Merrion Hotel, Upper Merrion Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

The fish and chips are a must have! Gorgeous food, white linen experience from the get go, part of one of Ireland's very few 5 star hotels. Everyone should make a trip here at least once.

profile_review

Peploes Wine Bistro
16 St Stephen's Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

My favourite of the fine dining restaurants in the City Centre of Dublin. Peploes has all the benefits of the white linen experience but without the stiffness that might be associated with that end of the market. Exquisite food and excellent wine menu. Ideal for corporate lunches.

Canal Bank Cafe
146 Upper Leeson Street, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

I come here all the time and the food is always great. Chicken wings are fantastic. Went with a group of 24 recently and everyone was happy with what they received - a real achievement I say on the part of the Canal Bank.

Gotham Cafe
8 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Simple menu, excellent food. The tables can be somewhat cramped and the service not as friendly as some Dublin restaurants. The quality of the food and the great value prices more than make up for it though.

profile_review

Gong Chinese Restaurant
8 Lower Kilmacud Road, South Dublin, Stillorgan, Dublin

Simply the best Chinese food I have ever tasted!! The food is delicious - and different to most Chineses. The service is very friendly. Decor is nice enough. Watch out for the space age bathrooms - bizarre! :)

profile_review

The Real Gourmet Burger - Dun Laoghaire
The Pavilion, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Fantastic Burgers and Yummy Chips! There's a burger on the menu to suit everyone's taste and the chips really are something everyone should try at least once. Parking nearby, friendly staff, nice decor, lively atmosphere. Only thing I'd say is that you're quite tightly packed but it's not the type of space you'd loll around all night anyway.

profile_review

Cavistons Seafood Restaurant
59 Glasthule Road, Glenageary, South Co. Dublin, Sandycove, Dublin

Truly excellent food, very friendly service, lovely atmosphere. This family run restaurant is an absolute gem - there's beautiful walks along the sea nearby if you want to work up an appetite first. It's not cheap but definitely worth visiting for a special occasion. The seafood is particularly good but they do cater for vegetarians and non sea-food heads very well.

profile_review

The Club Bar
17 Colliemore Road, South Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin

Hangover heaven! We often come here on a Sunday to soak up the atmosphere and order a cure from their extensive menu. Very relaxed place and friendly ambiance. Footy is always on for sports fans but you can avoid it easily if you'd prefer. Service always comes with a smile. Would highly recommend it.

profile_review

Guinea Pig
17 Railway Road, South Co. Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin

Food here is sublime - and oh-so expensive! It's lovely to see a restaurant showcase Irish cuisine as this place does. The food and cooking is really superb. The atmosphere is very cosy and unpretentious (a bit like someone's house rather than a commercial establishment) - which gives it a lovely, relaxed ambiance. Three courses for four and two bottles of wine cost a whopping €400 but as a treat - I'd highly recommend it.

profile_review

Rasam
18-19 Glasthule Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. The food is really excellent, the decor is gorgeous, they've a great selection of wine and I really haven't come across nicer staff in years. They're just lovely. We had our first date there actually and we went back for our anniversary they made such a fuss - really very sweet.

Ragazzi Italian Ristorante

LOVE this restaurant!! Gorgeous food at very reasonable prices. Soft, enjoyable but fun ambiance and very sweet staff. Plus, you never know what celebrities you might bump into. Would highly recommend this place.

The Purty Kitchen (Dun Laoghaire)
3-5 Old Dun Laoghaire Road, Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Since the new management took over and the menu was changed I was looking forward to seeing what the effect on dining there would be. Now all starters are a fiver and all mains a tenner. Very tasty food - I thoroughly enjoyed mine. Service was top notch and the value was very good. Would recommend it.
