Sage Restaurant (Mayo)
10 High Street, Westport, Mayo

We were on weekend visit to Westport and eat here twice on the 4/3/16 and then on the 6/3/16. Both nights we had a lovely meal, the staff were very friendly and we were really looked after. Thank you everyone.

We had a lovely meal in Sage last night. The restaurant was busy but we weren't rushed, all the staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and wine.

Mamma Mia Deli Cafe Bar
2 Grattan Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We had booked a table and were put outside in the extremely cold porch even though when the booking was made there was no mention of out side. We even moved table to try and get a warmer spot, unbelievably it was colder. To make matters worse the lights "outside" were on a timer and kept going off. The waitress was very unfriendly and surly and didn't seem to care about the customers outside. She spent her time inside only dashing out at the last possible moment to do clearing etc. The food was good but everything else needs to be better.

The Signal Restaurant at The Station House Hotel
Main Street, Near Navan, Near Trim, Kilmessan, Meath

Since I wrote the review below I contacted the Station House we have been offered a voucher to have a meal in the restarant at a time and date of our choosing. We were out for a drive and decided to stop for something to eat it was only 5pm so we had the bar to ourselves. We decided to eat in the bar as there was a weddind going on and we could people watch. I had the burger and chips the plate was cold the burger had been ordered rare and was over cooked the chips were cold soggy and limp the bun had been toasted so much it broke in two whateversauce was on it was disgusting. My Mother in law had the beef with brocoli and cashewnuts the beef was so tough she couldn't eat it. My husband had the thai chicken which had no taste of thai and came with a greasy popadum. We complained at the end of the meal but nothing was done about it the waiting staff were very friendly and seemed to be embarrased that the meal was so bad. In their website we are told about the award winning rastaurant I dont think so not for the last few years anyway.

Caffrey's of Batterstown
Batterstown, Dunboyne, Meath

While looking at houses in nearby Dunboyne we wereearlyfor an appointment so we decided to have breakfast in Caffrey's. We all had tea, my son had the breakfast bagel while 2 others had toast we also got a plate of fresh brown bread. The bagle was very tasty wit a sausage, egg and bacon there was lost of toast and the tea was never ending. The service wasexcellent and we weren't waiting long for the order to be delivered. We have now bought a house in the area and I am looking forward to trying lunch and dinner in Caffery's.

The Park Bistro
Fenbyrne House,, Castlepark, Arklow, Wicklow

We were in The Park last friday night which was a wet and dreary night. When we arrived there was only one other occupied table, well it was only 7.00 pm. With a glass of prosecco we chose from the menue. We were able to choose from either the a la carte and the early bird which I liked we could mix and match. I had a baby potato and chirizo salad with aoil and Hugh had Prawn tempura with chili jam, we both had Seared Kilmore Quay Scallops with pea and mint risotto and crispy pancetta, delicious. We had a bottle of Italian red I cannot now remember the name of. While we were eating the place filled up and there was a great buzz. Unfortunately by the time we had finished our wine there was no room for a dessert maybe next time. We had a glass of port each while waiting for the bill and taxi the final cost was 124 euro.

MacNean House & Restaurant
Main Street, Blacklion, Cavan

What a fantastic experience from the warm welcome at the halldoor on our arrival to our send off the next morning everything was excellent. We has the tasting menue with wine I really enjoyed the crab ravoli with the thai sauce. Each of us had our favourite course. The next morning we had a lovely breakfast to set us up for the day. When we were leaving they asked my sister and me for our first names the next thing Nevin appeared with signed copies of his new book. He asked us how we had got on the night before and how the rooms were. We had no complaints. It is so nice to meet someone who actually cares how you enjoyed their restaurant and you feel even after a few minutes that he really loves what he does.
