When I first went here I thought I'd discovered a lively gem with good wholesome food. After a while though I realised that everytime I visited despite ordering different dishes on the menu all the food tasted the same which unfortunately was rather stodgy and bland. Its price is high enough that it might put you off going every day yet its not special enough to go to for a special occasion. It is certainly very filling food in a cafe that has a lovely lively atmosphere.

The food here is just brilliant. Really authentic, fresh and tasty. It feels like eating in a dolled up portakabin but once you taste the food you won't notice anything around you..

Milano (Clarion Quay)
Unit 6, Excise Walk, Clarion Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre, IFSC, Dublin

I was impressed with the atmosphere here for a Monday night but this could be because of a concert on in the O2 that attracted the hungry concert goers. The food was average and the menu was limited particularly in terms of appetisers/starters. The service was a bit lacklustre and I didn't think that the meal itself represented value for money. The wine was great though!

Farm Restaurant (Dawson Street)
3 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

We've gone here a few times for lunch and have never been disappointed with the food. The service is a bit hit and miss though. Sometimes you can be ignored for ages particularly when it comes to the bill and other times it can be overkill. The decor is a bit odd with the butterfly mirrors and possibly an overuse of white making it feel quite sterile unfortunately. Its fine for lunch but wouldn't really consider it for dinner.

Chez Max (Palace Street)
1 Palace Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Have to say I was a bit disappointed with this place. The tables are very squashed together and it was so noisy that I could hardly hear the person I was with. The food is nice but quite expensive for the small portions given. I'd say its a great place to go and while away an afternoon but there are nicer French restaurants to go to in the evening.

Ukiyo

Love this place! It does great lunchtime deals. The bento boxes are such good value at €10 and are sure to fill you up for the day. Its very casual and laid back with great food and lovely waiting staff.
