The Chili Club

Nice meal with 3 friends well presented but spoiled somewhat with very poor 'Latte' served...quite clearly produced almost immediately from a machine..no milk content except hopeless frothy substance. yack !!

Indian Ocean Dublin
15 Montague Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Busy Restaurant when visited on Monday Evening.Good sign that ! Can I suggest the Chef changes the Cooking Oil ? Signs that Battered Fish & Chips cooked together however.

The River Cafe
Raheny Shopping Centre, Howth Road, Raheny, Raheny, Dublin
Enjoyed nice tea, scone,& jam here yesterday. However, I found it quite off putting to hear the staff being shouted at by senior staff quite rudefully at in a high pitched voice.

The Chili Club
Anne's Lane, South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Good Food served but night somewhat spoiled by a rather noisy patron at next table. Also, was annoyed that we were not shown the early bird menu(14.95 x 2 courses) as adverised on website.

Toscana City Centre
3 Cork Hill, Dame Street (opposite Dublin Castle), Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin
Nice food served in a pleasant manner ! Chicken wings starter particularly memorable. Perhaps, the waiter could have given us a little more time before asking us was everything ok-----as we hadn't time to lift our forks & taste the food beforehand !!

Fallon and Byrne
11-17 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Had an 'early bird' meal with a colleague & although the food was ok( salmon starter & burgers for main) I felt the price was a bit hefty (77.00 euro incl.bottle of wine) Owners need to look a their pricing structure again !

Gallahers Bistro
16A D'Olier Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Dined here with the Mrs last night having been given a voucher by my daugher ! Arrived@5pm & restaurant quiet. Served by a friendly & delightful young waitress who was v attentive throughout the evening there. We shared a nice starter of chicken wings which were v tasty. I opted for a steak which was served medium as requested & tasted good. My wife had battered Fish & Chips but she thought the fish was slightly undercooked. Overall, we enjoyed the meal.

La Maison
15 Castle Market Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Finally got to have dinner here last night with 3 friends. Opted for the Early Bird Menu & starters of Calamari & Black Pudding had great flavour. The mains of Lamb & Fish were delicious but smallish helpings were served ! Probably needed to order some sides but wanted to keep the price to 22 euro each for 2 courses. Austerity days & all that !!!

Eden Bar and Grill
7 South William Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
Got to visit this restaurant before it 'rebrands' to Nede ! Absolutely delicious food served at a knock down price to thank their many customers. The lamb served was cooked to perfection & I intend to pay a return visit soon.

Saba

Il Segreto
13a/b Merrion Row, City Centre South, Dublin
Brought to dinner here last night & chose the crab salad as starter---bad mistake as I needed a magnifying glass to see it ! My wife's goat's cheese salad was flavoursome & plentiful ! We both opted for the lamb but were v diasappointed to see it arrive in the shape of a large sausage---oops ! a bad presentation with a few hard vegetables let the restaurant down badly.

The Green Hen
33 Exchequer street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Had the 'early bird' meal last thursday @6pm x 4 people.Soup v hot & bread roll straight out of microwave methinks ! Belly Pork starter quite good.Mains tasty but portions small & mash rather sparse also.

Cucina Italiana
17 St Anthonys Place, Killarney, Kerry
Visited here last saturday evening with a group of 15 including two infants.Only 1 high chair available...oops !...had to 'borrow' one from Killarney Park Hotel where our wedding party was staying ! Very nice food & service but a price of 29.95 euro each for an 'early bird' seemed excessive in todays harsh times methinks !

Downstairs Restaurant
Gilbert & Wright, Hollybrook Park, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin
Dined local last night & opted for the Early Bird 2 course menu @ 22.00 euro per head. The Food was tasty & well presented but similar quality can be found now in many city centre restaurants & they only charge c16.00 euro for 2 courses ! These are hard times so please look at your current pricing structure.

The Gallery Restaurant at the Church
Junction of Mary St. & Jervis St., Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
A trip here last friday was anything but April Fool's day ! The food & service experienced here was top notch despite the bacon & cabbage being a tad salty. The fish dish was particularly pleasing. I'll be back !

WILDE
The Westbury, Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Dined here last saturday evening with a party of 6 @ 7.30pm. Very few in restaurant but some more patrons arrived later in the evening, Overall the food was of a high standard but the prices quite high nontheless ! There were too many waiters tending our table which eventually had a nuisance effect.

Dobbins @ The Park
South Lotts Road, Dublin 4, Ringsend, Dublin
Went to Dobbins with three friends as part of a race night last evening. The salmon starters were obviously just taken out of the feezer before serving---far too cold & no lemon ! The belly pork was nice & vegetables fine.Unfortunately,we had to sit with our coats on during the meal as there was no heating at our window seats.OOPS !

Dined here with a family group of eight & enjoyed the saturday evening. The Seafood Chowder was divine. Will make a return trip soon !

Il Vicoletto
5 Crow Street (Next to Foggy Dew Pub), Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Brought here by friends for(presumably) early bird menu booking @ 6.30pm.Not offered this menu on arrival but we opted for a 3 course meal available at 25.00 euro per person ! Perhaps one has to remind the restaurant to offer & display the 'better value' early bird option ? NEW CUSTOMERS TAKE NOTE ! My wife chose the sword fish..tasty but small & covered in unsuitable sauce. My starer of Calamari was memorable. The service was fine but far too many vists to our table from the waiters enquiring as to how our party of 4 were enjoying the meal became quite obtrusive.

Shack Restaurant
24 East Essex Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Ate here friday night with a party of four.Opted for the early bird menu which was good value. The service was a tad slow but it was busy inside(I always think it is a positive indication of the restaurants reputation when full with customers)
Frankies Italian Bar and Grill
42 Temple Bar Square, Temple Bar, Dublin
Visited here last night @ 6.30pm with my wife & opted for the Early Bird menu.We both had a starter of Calamari rings & burger for mains both tasty enough ! However the wine list was over priced & the South African red we chose @ 24.00 euro was a bad selection indeed. Also, the Waiter(s) overdid the business of enquiring how we 'were doing'-once is more than enough, thrice is irritating !

Darwins
80 Aungier Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Brought here last friday evening by some friends & opted for the ' Early Bird' menu. For mains I opted for a steak & my wife had plaice, both plates being served with mash but vegetables only available @ + 3 euro .I thought this a tad sneaky which effectively upped the price for the early bird price advertised !

Millstone, A Dublin Restaurant
39 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Paid a return visit here last night with 3 friends.Glad to report that the food is still of a high standard ! Perhaps though, the battered fish could be a little less batter & a bit more fish---tasty nonetheless !

Milano (Temple Bar)
19 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Popped into Milanos today for a spot of lunch with the wife ! Very pleasant experience & nice attentive waitress.Alas, the air-conditioning was a distraction as our table was directly below the device & quite cold really.

Odessa
13 Dame Court, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin
Dined here this evening with my wife & two good friends.Opted for the early bird menu(booked last week)Food was nice but the evening somewhat spoiled by the waiter producing not one but two incorrect & rather inflated bills !

Farm Restaurant (Dawson Street)
