One of the best establishments I have ever eaten in... The food was fresh and wholesome and the service was fantastic to boot. The decor of the restaurant was very modern and the large window looking out on the market square of Kildare Town only enhanced our experience. I brought a party of 16 people there on a Saturday Night and every went according to plan. Would also like to thank the manager for all her help, a wonderful night had by all and will definitely be back

Was here on two occasions, and was very happy with my first meal here but on my most recent to the place about a month ago, I was not happy at all. I got the tartlet for starters with a crazy sorbet on the side as my g/f would say, really didnt think they went well together so thus left the sorbet firmly on the side of the plate, she had the mussels which were nice. For mains I had the rib eye steak which was nice but not worth the money that you pay for it, the main bone of contention of this review was my g/f main course dish which was the Spaghetti with Prawns & OIL. It was a disgrace that such a good restaurant should let a plate with so much oil go out to the customer. The Spaghetti was literally swimming in the stuff, can still see it now. Also the staff were okay but when they saw my g/f practically full plate they didnt ask once throughout the whole meal, was everything okay. I wouldn't say I wont go again but will find it genuinely hard to recommend this restaurant to anyone after this experience. Hope people find this review helpful even if it wasn't a good experience this time.

Cunningham's Bar
Main Street, Kildare, Kildare Town, Kildare

Nice enough place over Cunninghams Bar in Kildare Town. They are doing a new early bird menu and the selection on the menu is very good at a very good price. I was in a party of 4 and everyone seemed happy with their choices, I had the fish pie and it was gorgeous, filled with loads of fish from prawns, mussels, cod, a delight with some lovely mash on top. Atmosphere was okay but there was just one other table in the restaurant and that was on the other side of the restaurant. Service okay, nothing brilliant. All in all for value for money and nice food will be back again.

Food is only okay here, very much chargrilled food(burnt food) & greasy. The menu is quite big and I always think that if the menu is big then they cant do everything to a high standard, and thats what I found. Went in here with a mate and ordered the mixed combo starter, it was okay but alot of it was burnt, I didnt complain so that was my prob but thought with the place being new that it would be a minor glitch. i got the burger for main and it is served on rustic bread, not my idea of an american burger, there was a layer of black on the burger and every bite was chakey. Chips were very greasy. Service is friendly but a little stand offish. Nice enough decor in the building. I must also note I had a latte and it seemed it tasted of mould, as in I wasnt sure was it me, but it seemed to be off the glass itself, didnt finish that you can imagine. If you want a greasy spoon for a hangover lunch this is the place, but would feel the food could be a whole lot better.

The Ballymore Inn
Main Street, Ballymore Eustace, Kildare

Not sure if I can believe all the hype and the awards about this place anymore as it seems to be slipping a little bit. Went there with my girlfriend, food was okay but not up to the levels that some people had told me. It was quite nice but wasnt overly gone on my Thai Green Seafood Curry, ordered it to see how it was going to come out and taste as I thought the chef at the Ballymore would be able to make the dish work, but the curry overpowered the taste of the fish and kinda knew this was going to happen. Girlfriend had the risotto which was okay but not Ballymore Inn standard. I am not sure that I have too high expectations of the place but was very disappointed with the experience after gearing myself up for it. Will def be back to try again but a slight bit more hesistant now than before. Value for money is still an issue, but they can get the money in with the clientle they have.

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare)
Kildare Chic Outlet Shopping Village, Kildare, Kildare Town, Kildare

Like the place because it has that holiday feel about it when you go down to the Village and eat something in this restaurant. They have outdoor seating which is very useful when we do get good weather. The food is okay, nothing that blows your mind away, some dishes can be presented rushed and at the end of the day customers buy with their eyes. Service is good and effecient they never converse with the customers in other establishments but its not a bad thing either. Like the place and will definielty be going back..

Boss Byrnes Bar and Restaurant
Canal View, Sallins, Kildare

Have to say this place was lovely, the setting inside the restaurant was lovely as we looked out onto the candle and the beams in the restaurant were fantastic. Food served in big portions for the price being paid, would def come back here again.

Hanged Man's
Milltown, Newbridge, Kildare, Newbridge, Kildare

After reading some of the reviews below, I am a bit confused as I had a really enjoyable evening here. I think the customer service is more hands on than most places, we were met out in the bar by the owner, who dragged the specials board over to us and without any hesitation was able to tell us how all the specials were cooked and was exactly was in every dish, as a dining experience goes that was a good start to the evening and we hadn't even received our food. We were brought into the dining room once our starters were ready, I had the Beef Rolls (Special) and my g/f had the Fish cake (more Salmon than anything else). For mains I had the Veal (Special) which was perfectly cooked and the turnip mash I think accompanying the veal worked very well. My g/f had the Cod ( Special) which was with a herb crust and cheese, was very nice, fresh and light. No desserts as we were full. Genuinely love this place as the service and knowledge of the waiters is always very good. Also they are always very attentive and courteous. Will def be back and in fairness I believe there Early Bird Menu for €25 is still even in these hards times exceptional value.

The Bridgewater Inn
Canal View, Sallins, Kildare

Menu has not changed in years, didn't appreciate the value thought for what you are getting the food is not worth it. There are some people who like this type of thing but it's not for me. Too expensive and lacking the friendly touch

Silken Thomas
The Square, Kildare Town, Kildare Town, Kildare

Was here recently, and I must say it is one of the most beautiful lounges I have ever been in. They have done the place up and it is a welcome addition to Sallins. I had the Spicy Chicken Wings to start and there was so much meat on it, it really did feel like a main course, then I had the Chicken Fajitas which were sublime. Altogether this place has really impressed me and will def go back, the service was great, quick, friendly and prompt. A must try

Pasta FrescaOLD
13/14 South Main Street, Naas, Kildare

For what you're paying you are not getting a whole lot. I was very disappointed with the service as it was very slow and not very friendly. The table we were sitting on was right beside the setting up area and we could here the waitresses talking quite clearly, thus affecting our meal. I would recommend this place for people who can whilly nilly spend money and not expect to get value for money, never again.
