Outstanding! Outstanding! Outstanding! Staff were amazing. Food is outstanding. Visited this evening with my family. The 5 of us enjoyed a lovely meal with quick service and the staff were amazing, paying lots of attention to the children and ensuring everything was okay. Extremely child friendly, means so much for any parent to enjoy their meal. This is our first visit but not our last. Well done Gillian and Co.

The Ballymore Inn

Food outstanding : Staff outstanding : The food is well worth how expensive it is and unfortunately at the same time prohibits this being a regular haunt. Thank you to the staff for making us feel so welcome.

Judge Roy Beans
Main Street, Newbridge, Kildare
WoW! and not a good wow. Have eaten here previously with mixed results. The food side has really gone downhill. We received Poor service, waited 40 minutes for Poor food served with plastic in it. Disappointing and won't be returning.

We decided to bring our in-laws here on Friday evening. Waiter was a very nice. We ordered drinks. We tried to order starters but some items on the menu were not available, would have been handy to know this from the waiter when he first served us our drinks. So, we ended up ordering two bowls of chicken wings. We ordered stakes and fish for our mains. The fish was outstanding, the steaks were barely lukewarm and fatty. We had waited long enough on them that we ate them. My father-in-law finished his meal but the rest of us were still eating, the waiter arrived over and cleared his plate away. The waiter did this as each of us finished our meals, which I found very strange. There seemed to be a lot of staff on, so maybe the waiter was looking for something to do instead of standing around. I’m at a wedding in the Osprey in a couple of weeks. Really hope there is a vast improvement !
Unit 6/7, Clane Shopping Centre, Clane, Kildare
Zest was recommended to us and we have been meaning to eat there for ages. The opportunity arrived and we weren’t disappointed. The food was lovely and the restaurant was very busy for a Sunday evening. The calzone and pizza’s are very good. Disappointed by the small starters but the mains made up for it. I would recommend Zest for a couples night out. Not very buggy friendly. Car damaged in car park which put a dampener on the evening.
Fallons Cafe and Bar
Main Street, Kilcullen, Kildare
We have been to this restaurant a number of times and at the end of each meal we have always said that we would go back. WELL NEVER AGAIN ! We had a meal this restaurant on Saturday last. We were greeted by a very friendly barman who did all the pleasantries and rhymed off the specials by heart and asked if we needed a high chair for the little fella. We placed our order and the meal arrived in a timely fashion and was lovely. Shortly after our desserts arrived there was a raising of voices behind the bar between the bar lady and barman. This argument carried on for what seemed, five minutes. They must have thought everyone in the place was blind and deaf. When the argument finished the customer at the bar up and left and so did the couple sitting beside us. We would have done the same but our desserts had just arrived prior to the argument. The bar lady arrived down with my wife’s coffee about 15 minutes later and no sign of an apology or anything. It was very embarrassing and the first time I’ve seen something like this in any restaurant I’ve eaten in. It’s a shame, I’ve always found the Fallon & Byrne name, brand and eateries enjoyable. But with this sort of carry on you will just continue to loose good paying customers like myself.
