Lovely food and really nice wait staff. However restaurant was very empty at 2pm on a Saturday this was surprising, and it only emptied during our stay so it was a bit dead

Vikings Steakhouse
225 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

We ate here on a Wednesday night which is why the atmosphere is slightly marked down as it was nearly empty. However, food was delicious, service was top notch and we will be going back. We had a menu pages voucher and the value was superb

Marco Pierre White Courtyard Bar & Grill
1 Belmont Ave, Dublin 4, Donnybrook, Dublin

A group of us just ate there last night. The food is terribly expensive, the restaurant is terribly noisy and the food was terribly disappointing. The staff were nice but not as attentive as would have been expected. I had the prawn cocktail to start for which Marco Piere White is famous. To be fair the prawns were amazing, large well cooked and plentyful but that's where it stopped the sauce was too vinegary and the presentation was difficult to eat. (a tall cocktail glass which required a knife and fork to be dipped into as the avacado and the prawns needed to be cut) I then had the wicklow lamb for my main which was covered in a garlic and herb crumb. The crumb was so strong with raw garlic that when you ate it, it burned your tounge and the fat had not been rendered down at all so that at one point I found my self having to extract a lump of gristtly fat from my mouth. Now I normally wouldn't be so picky but at 14.95 for the starter and just under 30 for my main I believe I paid for better.

Food fabulous, and service great. Music too loud (I know I sound like an old fuddy duddy, but it was difficult to chat). Would go back in a heart beat if I felt I could have a conversation

The Brasserie at the Marker Hotel
Grand Canal Square, Docklands, Dublin 2 , Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Had a 'girlie' lunch here last Sunday. I was very disappointed. The Menu was trying to be both a brunch and lunch menu and difficult to navigate, the food was fine but I've had as good in a nice pub. Staff were very friendly and not too overly attentive but overall for the price it was just a little on the blah side

Sophie's
33 Harcourt Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Went for brunch with a group of friends, admittedly it was busy but it took over an hour for our food to arrive! 7 of us had poached eggs in some form (eggs Benedict/Florentine) and 1 had a full Irish. Nothing that complex. It was hard to see the reason for the delay. Table service wasn't bad, frequent refreshing of drinks but I think that was because we were all so hungry by the time the food arrived. Having said that the setting is stunning and staff were friendly so I'd give them a second chance to redeem themselves because of that

Pizza E Porchetta
The Malting Tower, Grand Canal Quay, Dublin 2 , IFSC, Dublin

Lovely food, nice service but OMG the price of it. Also my main did not come with any carbs and I would have liked the waiter to tell me that I should really order a side dish as I was still hungry after it and so had to get a cheese board. Pizza's looked good I had the spatchcock chicken and it was super tasty but also very small (I think tweaty bird met his demise here).

Empire Bar and Grill
16 Main Street, Swords, Swords, Dublin

Went here just before Christmas. Staff were lovely (squeezed us in with no booking) food was good example of that type of food. Not gourmet but it's not trying to be, very tasty. Will go again

The Cheese Pantry
104 Drumcondra Road Upper, North Dublin, Drumcondra, Dublin

Food here is delicious, the menu is small but has enough on it to give you variety. The service was good being friendly and courteous without being too obsequious however, it ain't cheap given that portions are a bit small and although you can taste the love in the food the ingredients don't merit the cost. We will go back but we won't be regulars even though we live within walking distance.

Green Nineteen
19 Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

Food is lovely but the venue is very noisey (busy Saturday night so prehaps forgiveable). Really great value with "cheaper" sytle meat being cooked really nicely (pork belly, lamb tagine) My one critcism and it's a big one is don't go in a large group. I was part of a hen party and to say we were squashed at the group table is a significant understatement! I had to eat with one had as I couldn't actually move my other hand to use my cutlery. However, the staff were very friendly, efficent and service was spot on. As a couple/four to a table you'll have a very enjoyable experience

Il Corvo Restaurant
98-100 Upper Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9 , Drumcondra, Dublin

food bland and yet over salted, poor quality, waited 3/4 hr for the desert menu, significantly over priced for the service and menu on offer. We were given a very generous gift voucher for this restaurant and we still have a 60 euro balance on the voucher, we will not be going back to spend the balance as even "free" food is not worth the terrible experience. Don't waste your time

Casa Pasta (Clontarf)

Great family restaurant tasty food, hassle free. Lovely staff and generally relaxed. Very casual and not if you want a romantic night out but a quick bite and a good laugh

Restaurant Ten Fourteen
324 Clontarf Road, Clontarf, Dublin

Wonderful food, great service some lovely touches in the decor and then some awful ones. If booking a table ask to sit near the front because if you're at the back the counter top around the kitchens is like something from a greasy spoon. However, this is my only criticism. Will go back again and again if only to have their sticky toffee pudding. I'd consider myself something of an expert on sticky toffee pudding and here is the best I've ever had by a mile. There fresh fish and aged beef are extraordinarily good and the staff don't hover but are always near if you need them
