Visited Bellissimo's Tramore while in Waterford over Christmas. Was very impressed. It had great food, great service and was great value. The dining room had a lovely cosy atmosphere, our table was set off by itself, which was grand because our party needed no distractions to catch up. The food was delicious. The hardest part was confining the choice to one item. Looking forward to heading South again, for a return visit.

ECO Douglas Restaurant
1/2 Eastville, Douglas Village, Douglas, Cork

Ate out here last week on a visit to Cork, on the advice of some Corkian friends. Was extremely impressed. We dined here on a Tuesday, and thankfully made a reservation, as the place was jam packed. The service was faultless, very professional and friendly, and the waitress was able to offer some great suggestions. The food was just wonderful. Full of flavour and every dish was a triumph. The desserts were outstanding, if anything the portions were on the large side! Overall, it was a great visit, and it even worked out at less than €35 per head. Excellent!

Romanza Restaurant
Distillery House,, Dyer Street, Drogheda, Louth

4 of us visitied Romanza on Saturday night. Firstly, the table was booked for 8, but they had no record of it at the on their list. Had to wait about 10 minutes, but we were soon sorted out. The menu read beautifully, there were a number of dishes that I would have loved to try, but I plumped for the Chicken Liver pate, the Lamb kebab, and then the sicilian cheesecake. The starters were beautiful. But my main was fairly black, and seemed very overcooked. The lamb, as a result, was very dry. Also, the staff seemed to deliver a drinks order to our table. Then we ordered our desserts and coffees. The coffees were delivered, but we had to wait 30 minutes of the desserts. I don't think that I'll be rushing back.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Ate in Brasserie Sixty 6 with my colleagues for a Christmas treat. Depending on what you ordered depended on how well you ate. The starters were fine, except the hummus dish was accompanied with the smallest amount of bread. A number of us had ordered this dish, and so we had to request extra bread on at least three occassions. Alternatively, the other favourite for starters was the skewered chicken. This portion was HUGE. So much so, that everybody got to try some. This dish was delicious! Mains were hit and miss, but all portions were fine. One colleague ordered Rainbow Trout, but couldn't eeat it as it was served with a spring onion sauce. She doesn't eat spring onions, but there was no mention of them on the menu. The desserts were just fantastic! Really tasty. The waiting staff were attrentive, but seemed unfamiliar with taking orders from a group. We were also sat at the very back of the restaurant, even though the place was practically empty. I'd like to try the place again, but with a smaller group.

Harveys Bar and Grill Restaurant (Above Harvest Bar & Lounge)
Main Street, Balbriggan, Balbriggan, Dublin

Made a return visit to this restaurant, with a group that comprised some people who are fussy eaters. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was simple, but very tasty and flavoursome. Not everyone was drinking, and not everyone had starters/desserts, so the €35 per person represented good value.
