Mongolian Barbeque
7 Anglesea Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Upon arrival mentioned 1 of our party was vegetarian and the waiter was very helpful explaining how it works, the different food options for vegetarians and showing the sauce and condiments ingredients list. He then said we could have the veg food cooked in the wok so no cross contamination or on cleaned down corner of grill. He told the cook & said when you bring bowls up to be cooked just mention it. We did so and was met with a sour faced grumble when we said we'd prefer it wok cooked. The woman then proceeded to moan about cleaning the grill, heating the wok and how long the wok would take etc.. We said it was fine we would wait. Whilst waiting & watching the various food cook we were relieved we stood our ground on the wok cooking as although the grill was cleaned for the veg the utensils weren't and were used on the variety of food items being cooked. The food did take a long time to arrive and sadly was overwhelmingly bland. The veggies tasted stewed rather than stir fried. Not a pleasant meal so no return visit planned.

Govindas Restaurant (Abbey Street)
83 Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Food doesn't compare to the Aungier Street branch. The food was tepid at best. No distinct flavours from any dish and everything was very similar and bland. Even the salads were a miss in comparison to Aungier Street. I'll steer clear of Abbey Street in future!

Dada Restaurant

After enjoying previous visits I looked forward to returning Unfortunately all I got this time was awful food, awful attitude and awful service. Avoid. I will in future.

Umi Falafel - Dame St
13 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Good menu with lots of choices to mix and match and great deals (falafel sandwich, wedges and a drink for €7.50, Falafel plate, 4 falafel, 3 dips, 2 bread, salad of your choice and a drink €7.50). I had the Fattoush salad which was so fresh and so tasty. The Palestinian falafel sandwich was delicious, bursting with flavour and very filling. The falafel were tasty, but a little on the crunchy side. The wedges (Batata Hara) were ok, nothing special and couldn't taste any spicing. Only gripe would be that serving on the wooden boards makes it hard to assemble and cut food. Will return.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Liffey Valley)
Unit 40B, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

Had the sweet potato and butternut squash burger. The menu description was far more appetising than what was served. The burger was a flavourless mushy mound that was impossible to eat it oozed off the bun. There was no seasoning in the burger, just monotone sweetness. Overpriced for what it is so I am loathe to return.

Sli Dala Restaurant @ Kinnitty Castle Hotel
Kinnitty, Birr, Offaly

Had a leisurely breakfast in the dining room overlooking the lawn. Ample continental choices - fruit, yogurt, cereals etc.... Limited cooked options for vegan/vegetarians with only eggs and toast on offer. Poached eggs were overcooked.

Sli Dala Restaurant @ Kinnitty Castle Hotel
Kinnitty, Birr, Offaly

Very limited menu for vegan/vegetarians. Soup was tasty & the "homemade" brown bread was the highlight.

Dada Restaurant
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had the 2 course lunch menu. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was very prompt between courses. Will return very soon.

Love the food here. Always full of flavour. The prices have increased recently with some dishes costing €1 more for the same portion size.

The Blue Haven Hotel and Restaurant
3/4 Pearse Street, Kinsale, Kinsale, Cork

Dined in the café. Options were limited but good.

Cafe Gusto
3 Washington Street, Cork City, Cork

Ate breakfast here and waited almost 20minutes for 2 slices of toast. By the time the toast was served our hot drinks were finished.

Aroma Chinese Restaurant
5/6 Emmet Place, Cork City, Cork

Had lunch here and were the only diners in the whole restaurant. The food was flavoursome although the portion size was extremely disappointing. While the food was enjoyable, it was not value for money so would be reluctant to return.

Gourmet Burger Bistro
8 Bridge Street, Cork City, Cork

Ordered off the "Lunch Specials" menu. Good value for Falafel sandwich mixed leaf salad. The 5 falafels were fine but the Arbutus bread which was toasted, was far too hard to eat so ended up eating just the falafels and salad. Partner had the pulled pork ciabatta sandwich and enjoyed. We shared the home fries which were cold and disappointing. Would not rush to return.

Captain America's Blanchardstown
Unit 40 Blanchardstown, Retail Park 2 Extension Dublin, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Ate here with another party using a voucher and from the outset were treated as second class citizens. Manager tried to take €20 service charge from voucher even though we were separate dining groups, on different tables with separate orders. Very bad customer service. Will not return

Falafel Lounge & Veg Bar
68 Dame st, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Used a deal voucher on this visit. Falafels are the nicest I've tasted, so much flavour and made fresh for your order. Tried a bit of everything on the buffet. Another satisfying feed. Will return again and again

Govindas Restaurant (Aungier Street)
4 Aungier Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate here with a Groupon voucher & chose the Veg Subji option which was a taster of everything. Food cannot be faulted. Everything was so tasty from the spinach & sweet potato pie to the potato and chickpea stew. My only gripe with these places is that when you chose this option they pile everything on the plate and sometimes the flavours mix or are lost. I will return here again especially at €6.95 including drink and 2 salads which were just as tasty and not the run of the mill limp lettuce offered elsewhere.

Bay Restaurant

Always busy which is a good sign. Had a nice lunch. The soup was delicious as always and a very generous portion.

Chilli Shaker Indian Restaurant
River Mall, 32-36 Main Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Tried the lunch menu and was very disappointed. Upon arrival there was nobody to seat us in a near empty restaurant. After being seated we had the lunch menu shoved in our face and wee abandoned. Extremely limited choices so overall would not return.

Falafel Lounge & Veg Bar
68 Dame st, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Great value and delicious food. So many options and all as tasty as the next. The freshly cooked to order falafels were some of the nicest I've ever had and not the usual dense greasy falafels served up. They were brought to the table with a serving of bread to accompany. Would have liked the bread when starting to eat but just a minor complaint. Tried everything on offer and could not fault anything. All fresh and often replenished on the buffet. Left full and happy so will return again and again.

Cape Greko (Malahide)
Unit 1 First Floor, New Street, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

This is a great place to dine with a large menu to work through visit after visit. I rate this place very highly for food and service but above all value for money. The two course lunch menu with tea or coffee €13.50 is exceptional value on weekends, whilst the Early bird menu available from 5.00-7.00pm Monday to Saturday and all day Sunday is just €18.95 for two Courses or Three Courses for €21.95. I always look forward to eating here and can’t wait to return.

Captain America's Blanchardstown

€9.95 lunch menu including drink is great value. Lots of options to chose from and large portions.

Johnnie Fox's Pub
Glencullen, Dublin Mountains, Glencullen, Dublin

Obviously geared towards the tourists but worth a look. Ordered a tea and the Banoffee Pie and received a large pot that would serve 5/6 for the price of a cup & good slice of cake. The base of the cake was not to my liking as it was more oats than biscuit but otherwise it hit the spot.

That's Amore - Malahide
12 Townyard Lane, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Decided to eat here before going out in Malahide with friends. Large menu & being Italian, lots of Pasta. Food took an extremely long time to be served but it was very tasty. I would probably dine here again.

The Waterside Inn
Opposite Howth Yacht Club, Harbour Road, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

Dined here with family and there was something to suit everyone. There was still a lengthy wait for our order but no complaints once the food arrived. Typical pub grub at pub grub prices.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Swords)
Pavillion Shopping Centre, Malahide Road, Swords, Dublin

Tasty food with lots of options. The burgers are expensive and the sides extra so not a cheap option. The fries are very moreish however the portion size is quite small.

Kealys of Cloghran
Old Airport Road, (Off Airport Roundabout), North Dublin, Cloghran, Dublin

We dined here on Mother's Day and we were seated in a cramped corner that was too small for our party size. The menu and price (set menu with a price of €24.95 instead of €19.95) was different to the menu advertised as available that day and so a number of our party were disappointed. It seemed other patrons were also disappointed with the menu as quite a few looked at the menu and inquired as to the changes and left without ordering. The starters and main were tasty and portion size was good, however we all agreed that the mains were cold upon arrival. Some of us ordered the Berry & Apple Crumble for dessert and did not enjoy it. It wasn't a crumble, more of a tart with a crumb topping. I took one piece and found it overwhelmingly tart whilst the pastry was almost raw.

Pacifico Restaurant & Grill
Marine Court, The Green, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

Having been here many times before I was very disappointed with the food on so many levels this time, so much so that I will not return. The food we were served did not reflect the menu description of the dishes and was overwhelmingly spicy. We had eaten the same dishes on previous visits and enjoyed them, however this time one of the starters was practically inedible due to the spice level and was missing two elements listed on the menu, from the dish. The enchilada for main was measly in portion, a piece of tortiila smothered in a much too spicy sauce with barely any "filling". Previously this had been a tasty and substantial dish and was served with a side salad. Not so on this occasion and we left unsatisfied on so many levels.

The food and service were great from start to finish. Very good value meal with the only downside being the dated decor.

Oscar Taylor Restaurant

Really enjoy eating here off the various menus available. Staff are very helpful and accomodating without being intrusive. Good food at good prices!

profile_review

Pacifico Restaurant & Grill
Marine Court, The Green, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

Tried the early bird menu & whilst the food was tasty (if a little on the spicy side) was not impressed with the portion sizes especially of the main courses and the fact that mains are not accompanied by sides at any time. Overall enjoyed the food but the prices are a bit too high for what you receive. Better value to be had elsewhere for same price or cheaper.

Fabulous food from start to finish! We had generous portions on all courses and left very satisfied for a reasonable price.Staff were very professional without being intrusive. We’ll definitely be back to try the large variety of dishes on offer.
