Deadman's Inn restaurant
Curtis Stream Old Lucan Road, Palmerstown, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 20
Reviewed 03rd December 2008 ( visited 03rd December 2008 )I'm not a carvery person but the menu's the rest of the week are lovely. Really nice pub grub served with a smile. You get soo much too. It's a tiny bit pricey, I think they could serve a little less and cut their prices a bit. But I would probably go back!
Dew Drop Inn
(Centre of) Kill Village, Naas, Naas, Kildare
Love this place. Such friendly can do staff. Lovely setting. The Thursday night steak night is my favourite. The steak melts in your mouth. There\'s never anything left on my plate and I\'m a picky eater!
94 Terenure Road East, Dublin 6, Dublin 6w, Terenure, Dublin
Maybe better for a takeaway. We ate her early on a Saturday night, there was only one other table at the start. 3 Servers. Service was ok. But what bugged me was their alarm kept going off every few minutes and instead of maybe apologising to us and explaining what was going on, the staff just kept gathering at the front door and looking at the alarm...Eventually, it would go off and the same thing would happen again, but they would do the same or just laugh at each other. It came across really unprofessional...The noise was extremely loud and there was no chance of conversation. There wasn't even a discount off the bill or anything offered to make up for it. The food was very tasty. But i would recommend skipping dessert...The cream is fake and has that UHT taste. But the mains were, as I said very tasty! So... they do take away which i might do in future!
Platform Pizza Bar

Merry Ploughboy Pub
Edmondstown Road, Rockbrook, Rathfarnham, Dublin
Always enjoy eating here in the evening during the week. Nice and quiet but not too quiet. Friendly locals, a few families, happy waiting staff. I had the scampi. Always tasty and hubby had the burger, looked great and was filling. Looking forward to going back!
Unit 11/18 Belgard Square, Tallaght Town Centre, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin
as there on a Saturday evening. The place was quiet when we got there and filled up eventually. Service wasn't with a smile, it was almost as if it was annoying to do their job. There was a lot of staff but obviously assigned to tables because one would be standing by our table and see empty plates but do nothing but stare over to other tables...it was a bit odd. I ordered chicken cashew nuts...it had zero taste and the chicken was quite fatty.. My husband ordered thai green curry and he said it was lovely. Brownie for dessert was just nice. I wouldn't recommend nor would I go back.

Taste Food Company

My new favourite place to lunch in dublin city. The caesar salad is like none ive ever tasted! Service a bit slow but can you have it all?
The Blazin Grill Steakhouse and Seafood
Belgard Square, Dublin 24, Tallaght, Dublin
Ate here yesterday with my partner and I thought it was so good that i had to write a review. Staff very friendly good service. The food was lovely. Very tasty indeed, although my partner had the caesar salad with tandoori chicken and the spicy chicken just didn't go with the caesar sauce, it should have been plain. Other than that it was a lovely salad. I had the salmon for mains and it was delicious! Hats off to them. I hope they do well!
Boss Byrnes Bar and Restaurant
Canal View, Sallins, Kildare
We used to eat here quite a lot when we lived in the area and really enjoyed it. So we were surprised on Sunday when we went down for some dinner. The waiter got both our orders wrong, it was like he just didn't want to be there, which is fair enough but you have to pretend like the rest of us do. My starter was plain old cream of veg soup..no cream to be found and the bread was stale! I got the salmon and when it arrived it was burnt underneath. I had already asked for the mash and veg that came with it so I didn't want to 'complain' again. The wrond burget came for the partner and the chips were burnt!! Oh and our cokes were stale... it was like they haven't changed the menu but have just started doing things on the very cheap to cut costs... It put us off going back, which is a shame because as I said we used to really enjoy it! :(

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill
51 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin
Ate here with work. I have to say I was really looking forward to eating here. The atmosphere was good and the service was very friendly but I wasn't very impressed. The choice of starters isn't great. I had smoked salmon - the salmon was delicious but it didn't come with any sort of cracker or bread, and it was a lot of salmon to eat alone, so I shared a friend crab starter which was very tasty. There is either steak or fish for mains. I has a raisin sec rib eye with 4 giant chips. I didn't really enjoy it at all and wouldn't order it again. I don't think I would eat here again there are plenty of other delicious places to go that are more reasonable.
Bits and Pizzas
15 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
Spent my Menupoints here a few nights ago, I have to say I found it very tasty. The caesar Salad for starters was lovely and I had a veggy pizza for mains. A little too much onion on it but lovely all the same! My partner had the prawns and a pizza also he enjoyed both the service was good too - really friendly and helpful, we will be back again!
Farm Restaurant (Dawson Street)
3 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin
My new Favourite Restaurant! I had the smoked salmon salsad for starters and the fish pie for my mains... both were very tasty! The staff were really friendly and gave us time at the end of our meal to chill out! My other half had the ribs for starters (hes a big fan of them but rarely orders them when we are out as they usually come back greasy - but he said these were the best he has ever had! And he had the piggies in a blanket for mains - I tasted it and it was really yummy!! Lovely meal and can't wait to go back!!
The Real Gourmet Burger - Dun Laoghaire
The Pavilion, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
Ate here on a Wednesday night - had a glass of wine Cajun Chicken burger Fries and onion rings... The size of the burgers you really don't need any side orders so the boyfriend had mine on top of his venison burger which he said was gorgeous. All the meat here is Organic, which is a huge plus for me. The service was great and very friendly. For 2 burgers 2 sides, a glass of vino and a beer, it came to a very respectable 36 Euro. I'll definitely be back!
Juice Vegetarian Restaurant
9 Castle House, South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Had the early bird special here - 3 courses for 15.50 each and a bottle of wine for 19.95. I found the food to be a little lacking. Was still hungry when I left. I suppose that's what you get for an early bird. The food was very tasty but I wouldn't get the deal again if i was going back!
Town Bar and Grill
21 Kildare Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Tried this for mother's day, we went in for Lunch time. The service is very friendly and were never left waiting. We had help choosing a wine and we were then brought some delicious breads, really very nice. I had soup of the day, it was a bit too much but tasty. for my mains I had the Fish Pie, it was so so good I could have had more, and then we had coffees. For 3 people - 3 glasses of wine, 2 starter, 3 mains and 2 coffees it came to 99 euro. I thought this was great value.
Milano (Temple Bar)
19 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
My favourites on the menu are the dough balls to start and the Nicoise salad. The bread is amazing. Ok there isn't much choice on the menu but I think most people tend to have a favourite here and stick to it.. I like the atmosphere in this one compared to the one in Dundrum, the service is is really good, very friendly.
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin
I really like the food in Milanos. My favourites on the menu are the dough balls to start and the Nicoise salad. The bread is amazing. Ok there isn't much choice on the menu but I think most people tend to have a favourite here and stick to it.. The service is good and the prices aren't bad at all. The only thing I don't like about it is the cafe style it has. But I go here at least twice a month.
20 Merrion Street Upper, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Ate here during the Christmas season, it was very busy but the service or food didn't suffer. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. the food was melt in your moth delicious. I had the sea bass and would order it again. Friends had the steak and they said it was the best they ever had!
Curtis Stream Old Lucan Road, Palmerstown, Dublin
I'm not a carvery person but the menu's the rest of the week are lovely. Really nice pub grub served with a smile. You get soo much too. It's a tiny bit pricey, I think they could serve a little less and cut their prices a bit. But I would probably go back!
China House (Firhouse)
15 Firhouse Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Firhouse, Dublin
This restaurant used to be lovely and do really good early bird specials too but i think it was taken over a couple of years ago and its not as great as its not as tasty as it used to be.. Also, the staff aren't as friendly.. I don't think I will be back :(
Courtyard Shopping Centre, Newbridge, Kildare
Ate here last night - it was really lovely. I had the corn balls for starters and the veggie Pud Med Ma Muang (mild or spicy). Both very tasty and filling. The service was quick and very friendly. The price for 2 starters and 2 mains and a glass of wine came to 40 euro - very reasonable!!
Great City Chinese Restaurant
Poplar Square, Naas, Naas, Kildare
Ate here a couple of weeks ago. They were a bit flumoxed when I asked was there any other Veggie starters other than Spring Rolls, They manager came up to me and was kind of a bit put out.. not very inviting. Service was a bit the same. I just got a main course without the meat. It was alright.. just another chinese, nothing to right home about!
The Bridgewater Inn
Canal View, Sallins, Kildare
I wasn't really bowled over by this place like others were but that could be for 2 reasons. 1. The restaurant has closed down and we dined in the lounge 2. I am a veggie. Their website claims there is a variety for vegetarians but there was 1 main dish and 2 starters (goats cheese was in one, which wouldn't be my favourite and soup was the other zzzzz). The main course was a spicey pasta dish that wasn't great. I asked if they had anything else and they didn't -(the website said they would cater to vegetarians needs -just ask!!!??) So I won't be returning.. However on the positive, the staff were friendly and my partner loved his Steak and mash.. His chicken started was ' just ok'. The also cater to coeliacs which is great!
Weeping Thaiger (Naas)
Wolfetone Street, New Town Centre, Naas, Kildare
Went to the Weeping Thaiger about 2 weeks ago - it was lovely.. Staff were very friendly and they din't mind me asking them to do one of their dishes without the meat(some places get a bit funny with me) But I found it really tasty and enjoyable, a bit dear, but we will go back!!
236 Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin 6, Rathmines, Dublin
Went here for the first time on a Friday night! Staff were helpful at times, slow at times.. but mostly fine. Good choice on the menu and good for vegetarians too! Would reccommend.. Not much atmosphere though! I will most likely go back.
13/14 South Main Street, Naas, Kildare
Went here last night! The service was good (that could have been because it was a Monday night and they were bored).. For starters we both had the Minestrone, very tasty. My main was the Agnolotti. Usually with creamy dishes I cannot finish them because they are quite filling but I managed as it was DEEEELish.. Himself had Ravioli that he loved and then we shared the Gelati(it was real). Very nice, will be back!
Eddie Rockets (Tallaght)
The Square, Shopping Centre Tallaght, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin
AKA Eddie Rob your pockets.. Pretty much the same as everywhere else, except dodgier!! Overpriced food, sticky tables and menus but grand if you have a hangover..
The Kingswood Country House Restaurant & Bar
Kingswood House, Kingswood, Naas Rd, Kingswood, Dublin
We popped into the Kingswood house for lunch last sunday. The staff were very friendly and service was good. As it was just lunch we only had soup and wraps but both were very tasty and well presented, it was a little pricey for just a lunch you could probably get the same anywhere else so it did disappoint in that way.. Probably wouldn't go back for lunch just because of the price, but would stop in for a drink!
Doyle Jim & Sons
Esplande, Bray, Wicklow
Ate here on a sunny Saturday so we sat outside. The service was friendly. We had a big bowl of nachos to start, that was between 2 people and it filled us! Then we both had steaks.. Nice and tasty and not too dear! Would go again!
The Old Orchard Inn
76 Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham, Rathfarnham, Dublin
Nice pub to eat in, staff are friendly and there is usually a good atmosphere! However, I think the menu is quite small, not much choice, there is a lot of choice though if you like seafood! I ordered the fillet steak as nothing else caught my eye. This was priced at €20, cheap for a fillet steak in Dublin and it was very tasty. Served with a little bit of mash and onions and mushrooms, the onions were a bit watery so I didn't eat them but everything else was lovely.. They should have more of a snack menu though..IMHO!
Mexico to Rome
23 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Nice restaurant. Tasty food and they do a really good early bird too. It always seems to be packed which I think is a good sign but then it's usually tourists so I don't know if that's good or bad. The Italian food is nice and the Mexican starters but I once had the Vegetable burrito which was extremely spicy and I wasn't given any guacamole or Sour Cream to cool it down which I thought wasn't very Mexicany!?!?! Otherwise, it's a grand place to go!
Chrysanthemum Chinese Restaurant
Unit 1 Old Orchard Inn, Butterfield Ave, Dublin 14, Rathfarnham, Dublin
I like this restaurant although I find it dearer than other Chineses. I usually have the chicken with Cashew nuts and fried rice. It's my favourite dish here. I find the waiters ok - not too friendly, always in a hurry but that doesn't bother me too much as long as they are not rude! I would recommend this restaurant for work get-togethers, family get-togethers or just for a decent Chinese meal! Not really a romantic or intimate restaurant!
28 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went to this restaurant at Christmas time with work. There was about 10 of us. And I can safely say that every single one of us enjoyed all 3 courses of our meals thoroughly. Most of us had fish or steak for our main course and the meat was so succulent, I normally would leave my manners on the plate but not this time. The decor is dated and the tables are on top of each other you might as well be sitting with the next table. So if it's an intimate dinner for 2 you are going for, don't pick here. Otherwise - Bon appetit.
Anvil Bistro Restaurant
Saggart Village, Dublin 22, Saggart, Dublin
Have been here a couple of times for lunch and find it very tasty.. a little expensive for a lunch meal, but it is very tasty and different to what is in the area. The chicken Caesar open sandwhich is lovely. Everyone raves about the burgers and the large portion of wedges that you get with it, very filling!!! If you can stay for the desserts...very tasty!!
Unit 4 Old River House, Templeogue, Dublin
Really don't like this restaurant.. We ate there on a Saturday night.. Kids running around the place screaming.. Very noisy, impossible to have a chat.. Wasn't impressed with the food... the tomato sauce was drowning everything I Won't be back as there are plenty of other real Italian restaurants in the area that are much better..
The Old Mill Bar And Restaurant
Old Bawn Road, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin
Nice atmosphere here and friendly staff... You usually have to go hunting for someone to take your food order but that's not really a problem.. I like the food off the menu.. Wouldn't be mad about the carvery.. the cod and chips are very tasty and they do a lovely beef nacho dip for starters! Worth a visit if you are in the area!
Bijou Bistro & Wine
46/47 Highfield Road, Dublin 6, Rathgar, Dublin
Went to the Bijou bistro part last night for some family celebrations and I really liked it.. You can't book, so we waited upstairs and had a few drinks while they got our table ready. The service was great, they couldn't do enough for us, the food was lovely, I had a pea and asparagus risotto, very tasty and nicely priced too.. I really enjoyed Bijou and am looking forward to returning!!
Palazzos - Closed
1 Marlborough Terrace, Strand Road, Bray, Wicklow
I really like coming here.. We would probably come here once a month when we are out in Bray.. The food is lovely and there is something for everyone.. Staff are helpful and friendly.. I love the bread and dips starter.. We would usually get this between the 2 of us.. The only thing that I wouldn't be mad about, as another reviewer noted were the chips.. I do like big chunky chips but not burnt ones and the 2 times I got them they were burnt and I have noticed it seems to be the way...So I just stopped getting them! Pizza here is lovely too.. but I can never finish it! I would recommend this restaurant..
Mao Restaurant (Dun Laoghaire)
The Pavillion, South Co, Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
This is just my opinion but I could not wait to get out of this restaurant. It is noisy and the waiter forgot my meal and when they brought it was extremely disappointing. I ordered the Sole in batter.. What the point in putting it in batter if you are going to drown it it water, the batter was all soggy.. Lets just say it was the most unenjoyable meal I've ever had... Most likely won't be back!!
Little Caesars of Rathfarnham
Rathfarnham Orchard, Butterfield Ave, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin
Went to Little Caesars on Saturday at about 3pm.. Was pretty empty. Our waitress was nice maybe a little bit like a sales person though when we said we didn't want alcohol..The same again when we didn't want dessert.. I had Suppli for starters which is nice and Tagliatelli Al Funghi for my main.. It was fine. Wouldn't rave about this restaurant. I didn't like the way the staff just stand around in a gang when they have nothing to do.. Noticed this on different occasions. I would say it was probably my last trip there..
