Restaurant Reviews from Cipriana
109a Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 21st January 2015 ( visited 03rd January 2015 )I went to L'Ecrivain for the 8 course tasting menu, and it was a really enjoyable evening. The food was delicious, and there was a great variety and mix of flavours in each course. I would recommend getting the wine pairings with the meal as they really added to each dish. I will definitely be going back again soon.
65 Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 6
Reviewed 22nd January 2015 ( visited 04th January 2015 )I had the potato, green bean and basil pesto omelette with iberico ham, rocket and parmesan. It was an unusual, but good combination. Would have liked more ham in the dish, but that was my only comment on an otherwise very tasty meal!
17 Ranelagh Village, South Dublin, Ranelagh, Dublin
Really enjoyed my meal here, probably the best Indian food I've had in Dublin. My lamb dish was perfectly cooked. Service was also very good. Cocktails looked very imaginative and will definitely try them on my next visit!
The Butcher Grill
92 Ranelagh Village, South Dublin, Ranelagh, Dublin
I went to The Butcher Grill for lunch and had the soup and a side. Both were lovely, soup was very unusual and beautifully presented. My companion had the chips, which were some of the nicest chips I've tasted, very crispy! Food and service were great, my only comment would be that there was only one gluten free main on the lunch menu. I will be back again!
14b emorville avenue, South Circular, Dublin
Best breakfast I've had in a long time, the butternut squash and poached eggs with chilli butter oil and yogurt was gorgeous and a very unique breakfast dish. The green smoothie was tasty, but expensive for the small bottle. Service was great, the cafe has a cosy feel, and they were very accommodating in substituting items to make dishes gluten free. I'll definitely be back soon to sample all the other breakfast dishes!
40-42 Upper Arthur Street, Belfast, Antrim
I was not here on a Cabaret night, but as a restaurant alone, I would not recommend this place. Although the food wasn't bad, it was very overpriced for what you received. The food we ordered was different to what was described on the menu, and when we asked about it the waiter was pretty unapologetic. He also overcharged us on one main and charged for another thing we didn't order.
Fitzwilliam Belfast, Great Victoria Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland, Belfast, Antrim
We availed of the dinner deal of 3 courses + wine for £55, which was a good offer. For the price we paid, the food was very tasty, however, probably not of the standard you'd expect if you were paying the full price for each course. I enjoyed my main, but it was more like meat and two veg rather than gourmet dining. The menu was a bit misleading as I assumed I was getting a sweet potato side, but got a white potato mash with a sweet potato purée. The service was good though and I enjoyed my meal.
Dockyard No. 8
Bray Harbour, Bray, Bray, Wicklow
I've been to the Dockyard for breakfast and lunch, and their salads are great! Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. My only comment would be perhaps offering more gluten free options for breakfast (or indicating options that could be made gluten free on the menu), as I didn't have a lot of choice. My breakfast wasn't very substantial without toast and black pudding. My lunch salad was very tasty and I'll definitely be back again!
St. Anne's Square, Cathedral Quarter, Belfast, Belfast, Antrim
The food, the service and the atmosphere in this restaurant are amazing, my only regret is that I wasn't there on a Saturday night so I'd have an excuse to sample some of their cocktails! The bar and cocktails looked top-notch. The menu was great, and each gluten free dish (and vegetarian option etc.) was clearly labelled. I had a tapas starter and tried a few of the dishes, each one had so much flavour, I loved the spiced sausage. My main was fantastic, saltimbocca pork, and the chocolate brownie for dessert was one of the best I've had. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Belfast!

47 Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin
I went to Dillinger's for the brunch menu at the weekend and found that the staff were more knowledgeable than most places about my allergy concerns (coeliac) and very helpful. I enjoyed my meal there but was perhaps a little overpriced for the size of the meal portions. I will be back to try the cocktails, they look very well made!
The Bull & Castle and F.X. Buckley Steakhouse
5-7 Lord Edward Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8, City Centre South, Dublin
The rib-eye steak was very tasty and every one of the large party I was with really seemed to enjoy their meal. The dessert (meringue, cream and raspberries) was also gorgeous. My only disappointment was that they no longer do deep-fried Mars Bars, but the waitress was lovely and promised they'd be on special that Friday if we wanted to come back! Great service and delicious food!
Platform Pizza Bar
7 Strand Road, Bray, Co.Wicklow, Bray, Wicklow
The atmosphere and setting of the restaurant is very unique and cosy, I especially like the "wardrobe" restrooms. The first time I came here it was during the day, service was great and the food (Super Salad) was very tasty. The second time was a busy evening and service was very slow, the fish (Sea Bream) was nice, but the number of fish bones made it very difficult to eat. My companion got the pizza with walnuts and bacon which was excellent.
36 Wexford St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
We were waiting a while to be served, but the burgers were worth the wait. Very generous portions and nicely cooked burgers, my one issue would be that although the burgers are pretty good value, the sides (sweet potato fries, milkshake) were quite expensive.
Bobo's Gourmet Burgers (Wexford St)
22 Wexford Street (Beside Whelans), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I had the "Sex on the Farm" burger with a Greek salad side. The burger was delicious, with a generous proportion of meat, chilli and creme friache. It had just the right amount of spiciness and I really enjoyed it. I also ordered the side Greek salad, which was much larger than I expected, and was very tasty and fresh (lots of olives which was great). I also tasted the chips with 3 sauce dip and the curry sauce was one of the nicest I've had.
10 Upper Camden Street, Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin
Staff were very friendly and the food was great, I had Tajen Samak (seasonal fresh fish) for my main and semolina cake for dessert, both were delicious. Service was excellent considering we were a large group (8) and I would definitely return.
