Masterson's Steakhouse & Wine Bar restaurant
17 Main Street, Swords, Dublin, Area Code:
Reviewed 02nd March 2012 ( visited 26th February 2012 )I have visited this restaurant on a few occassions and each time it never fails. On Sunday last we had a family meal, everyone enjoyed it. The portions are huge and we usually just go with mains and desserts! On this occassion we had starters also which were very tasty. Anytime one of us has ordered a steak it's always perfect. My son loves the ribs, he orders them every time. I'd recommend the prawns to start and the steakhouse sundae for dessert is fab. The staff are well trained and very pleasant. This place is great for a family meal, a girls night or a couples night out. It really has it all!
That's Amore - Malahide restaurant

Reviewed 06th January 2012 ( visited 02nd January 2012 )I have eaten here on many occassions for lunch. This time we decided to go for dinner. The food was fabulous as always. Myself and hubbie had the carbonara and my son had the arrabiata. We shared brushetta and wings to start, all were lovely. My son had a toffee cake for dessert which was gorgeous. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I would recommend this restaurant for a casual evening out.
Dowlers Steakhouse & Wine Bar
18 Main Street, Swords , Swords, Dublin
Tried this restaurant last Friday night. It looks quite small from the outside but it extends quite far back. The decor is lovely. They also have an open kitchen which is always a good sign. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was ok, nothing exceptional but ok. I had bruschetta to start, there was nothing wrong with it but I've had much better in other restaurants. Then I had wings for main with chips. The wings again were ok, I've had better in other restaurants and some of my chips were under-cooked. I had banofee for dessert which was lovely. Although I wasn't overly keen on the food, the restaurant itself is lovely and the staff were nice. Perhpas I was unlucky in what I ordered. I may possibly return and try something different on the menu.
Jaipur Restaurant (Malahide)
5 St James's Terrace, Dublin 15, Malahide, Dublin
Myself and hubbie ate here on Saturday night, we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The service was of a 5 star standard, the staff really were execptional. And the food was divine... For starters I had the stir fry prawns, they were lovely, the sauce was so flavoursome. Hubbie had pork which was very tasty also. For mains we had Tandori Chicken on the bone with a masala sauce and the lamb maas. Both were so flavoursome and cooked to perfection. To wash it all down we had a bottle of the pinot noir, it was delicious. I would highly recommend Jaipur, we can't wait to go back!

I've had lunch in this coffee shop loads of times. It's always a good standard. The salads are yum and the choice of paninis, wraps are great. Everything always tastes so fresh. I usually get a crunchie slice afterwards too, they are fab!

5 Crow Street (Next to Foggy Dew Pub), Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
My friend has been going on about this place for about a year. And I only got around to trying it. It certainly lived up to my expectations. For starter I had the brushetta, which was lovely and fresh. The pasta for main was probably the best pasta I have ever had. Then the chocolate fondant was amazing. The service is perfect, the staff are wonderful. I would have no problems in recommending this restaurant to anyone looking for good food in a beautiful romantic setting. I'm looking forward to going back!
Mount Wolseley Hotel, Tullow, Carlow
Myself and my friend had a night away in Mount Wolsely on Saturday. The hotel is beautiful but we were very disappointed with our meal in Frederick's. We had the blue cheese starter and scallops, both were ok, not bad but nothing exciting. I had the smoked beef for main course, I really didn't enjoy it and it came with a horrible sauce. I don't know what it was. My friend had the monkfish which was over-cooked, it also came with a king prawn springroll. The inside of it was like a minced up wanton, it wasn't very appetising at all. The vegetable sides were lovely though, we filled up on those. For dessert my friend said she'd play it safe with ice-cream and it was nice. I went for what I thought would be creme brulee but it turned out to be creme brulee cubes which I really didn't enjoy. To top it off the service was appauling and we were left for periods with dirty plates and no drink. It was hard to get hold of a waiter as they were busy. The restaurant charges a set fee of €50 per person for starter, main, dessert & tea. I do not think the price reflects the food and service. Perhaps €25 per head would be more appropriate. In saying all the above the restaurant manager was very apologetic and gave us the meal on the house along with 2 cocktails. We were both happy with this. Perhaps it was just our experience and we were unlucky in what we ordered but unfortuntely we won't be going back.
The Bull & Castle and F.X. Buckley Steakhouse
5-7 Lord Edward Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8, City Centre South, Dublin
Visited here before a concert in the Olympia. It was my husbands choice as he likes different beers and ales. He thought the choice of drinks was fantastic, I had 2 glasses of red wine which were ok. For dinner I had beef and guinness pie and my husband had the lamb stew. Both were only ok, there was nothing wrong with them but we wouldn't be rushing back for seconds. They have a battered marsbar on the dessert menu which I may have to go back and try some time. All in all a nice place.
Eddie Rockets (Swords)
Main StreetSwords, Swords, Dublin
I have eaten in Eddie Rockets several times and it never fails, we usually go for a family meal out. We love the food, atmoshphere and staff. I always go for the classic burger, the special er sauce is lovely. And I usually get a malt to wash it all down. I think it does the best burger Ireland, I have only ever had better in the states !!
Coast Restaurant @ The Grand Hotel
The Grand Hotel Malahide, Coast Road, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin
We visited here on a staff Christmas lunch. The food and service was excellent and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The setting of the restaurant is nice and a lot of the tables look out onto the sea.
75 Main Street, Swords, Dublin
My husband and I decided to try this restaurant after reading the positive feeback on this site. It certainly lived up to our expectations, the place is warm and friendly and the staff really nice. We had wings and a caesar salad to start, the wings were especially nice. Then we both went with the rib eye for main, both were cooked perfectly and the meat was of good quality. We had creme brulee and chocolate tart for desert, both were delicious although we couldn't finish the tart as it was a bit too heavy after our starter and main. To wash it all down I had 2 glasses of Pinot Noir which was lovely. I'd have no problem in recommending this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal out at a reasonable price, we look forward to our next visit.

I have eaten in Kajjal on plenty of occassions for lunch and dinner. This time we had a girly night out on a Saturday. The service wasn't great as it was very busy. We were left waiting a long time for our main courses with no drink. The food as always was fab. I'm not sure I would return for dinner as it was quite over-priced. But the lunch time menu is a lot more reasonable and you can be guarateed good service.
Scotch Bonnet Urban Cafe
4 Church Road, South Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
Ate here on Saturday night with my husband, we had a menupages voucher. The place is very lively and the staff were very helpful and friendly. To start I had chicken wings and my husband had the ribs. Both were delicious. For mains we had steak, the rib eye and sirloin. Both weren't of great quality but were cooked to our liking. We had the chocolate brownie and banana split for dessert. The brownie was good and the banana split was ok. Overall I would recommend this restaurant especially for a group or a party. I will return again.
15 Townyard Lane, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin
I love this restaurant and have been on a few occassions. Each time the food has been beautifully presented and very tasty. The staff are friendly and attentive. I have ordered something different on each visit and all dishes were lovely. I ordered a steak on one occassion and it was over-cooked. They had no problem re-doing it and were very apologetic. I look forward to my next visit.
63-64 O'Connell Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin
Went here with my husband as we had a deal voucher. We won't be going back. The place is quite dingy, there was no atmosphere and the waiters weren't very attentive. We both got the steak on the stone which were cooked to our liking and quite nice but the overall experience wasn't very pleasant. I'm glad we weren't paying full price.
12A New Street Malahide, Malahide, Dublin
Visited here on a couples night out. Food was beautifully presented, we had a lovely table by the window and our waiter was very attentive. The food was very tasty but I'm taking away 1 star as my fish main was a bit over salted. Definately worth a visit.
2-4 Chatham Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Ate here on a work night out last Friday. We were quite disappointed, the food was very average, the service wasn't great and 2 of the guys ordered cocktails which were appauling. Would not recommend for an evening out, it may be nice for a lunch time venue.
