I have not been to the China House in a while. We had a delicious meal. Very tasty dishes down to the coffee which finished off a lovely meal. We will definitely be back.

RiverBank Restaurant @ The Court Yard Hotel
Main Street, Leixlip, Kildare

I puchased a deal of two courses and a glass of wine for two people. We booked and went along on Saturday night to the River Bank Restaraunt. it was a nice change to be able to go out on Saturday night with a deal as most places have day and time restrictions. We were brought to a lovely room which has a pianist playing. I ordered a caeser salad for my starter followed by steak, my husband had smoked salmon for his starter and hake for his main course. We had a lovely deacent sized glass of white wine. We had coffee and left very satisfied after a really lovely date night. We will definitely be paying the River Bank another visit.

Reeds on the River at Courtneys
Main Street Lucan, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

I purchased a menu pages voucher for steak and wine for two. I I was not disappointed. We were given nice large glasses and there was a decent amount offered wine at the correct temperature. We shared a smocked fish started and tasty brown bread which was delicious and then had our steaks cooked to perfection with chunky chips which I always find hard in the center these chunkies were crisp well cooked and delicious, the pepper sauce had just the right amount of kick. We shared a pear and almond tart and had 2 coffees. We will definitely be visiting again very soon.

il Divo Restaurant
2 Terenure Road East, (Above Comans), Rathgar, Dublin

My husbank and I visited Il Divo for the first time. Finding parking was difficult but maybe that was because we visited the restaraunt on Saturday night at 8 o clock. We went in to the restaraunt and were surprised at how spacious it was. Our coats were taken at the door which was a great idea less chance of an accident in the dining area. We ordered brusetta pizza and mixed salad with 2 glasses of wine. The food was very tasty. We saw the waiter arriving with our pizza and salad and were a bit surprised when he passed us by gave the salad to another table and returned to the kitchen with the pizza. I realised that he had probably not realised the salad was for us. The waiter arrived with the pizza divided as we were sharing. The plates were cold which meant that when the salad arrived our pizza was not as hot as it should have been. I didnt particularly have a problem with this Im a bit more relaxed than my husband about these things. We then ordered coffee and were told that the machine was not working. We did notice three work men about the place which I thought was a bit odd late on a Saturday night. I went the the bathroom and there was no water. I wonder why the work men could not work their magic before the restaraunt opened at 5 o clock. We had a desert which was tasty and left. Im not sure that I would return again. The food was fine but probably not as nice as our regular italian that we visit closer to home.

Tenors Grill Room (Naas)
Fairgreen Street, Naas, Kildare

I had been to Tenors previously and had no problem purchasing a deal. I expected that on a Monday evening it may be quiet but we were far from alone, there was a lovely buzz about the place. The cocktails were absolutely gorgeous as were the delicious two courses we each had. We will be returning very soon could not recommend this establishment highly enough long may there be excellent food, service and lovely cocktails continue, we'll be back.

Vie de Chateaux
The Harbour, Naas, Kildare

My husband surprised me with a trip to Vie de Chareaux for my birthday. I had not got a clue what he had in mind but when we pulled up outside I loved the look of the place. I was not disapointed when we went in. We were greated by a pleasent man. We had a delicious meal, and some really nice wine, and what I loved most was that there were people in the restaraunt which gave the place a lovely athmosphere. My husbands birthday is coming up soon so we will be paying another visit, unfortunately I will be driving and wont get a sniff of the wine cork:(

Abbot’s Steakhouse @ Abbey Court Hotel
Abbey Court Hotel, Lodges and Trinity Leisure Spa. Nenagh, Tipperary, Nenagh, Tipperary

We visited the Clositer Restaraunt at the Abbey Hotel in Nenagh for a Valetine dinner. We were accompanied by our young daughter. The ambience was perfect from the music to the petals on the table and the hearts hanging up. The food was superb. We were offered a delicious Amuse bouche a complimentary dish which consisted of a small pancake with a delicious creamy vegetable mouse it was really lovely. As were the starters, main course, sorbet, dessert and coffee. We were offered a complimentary glass of champagne. It was a lovely experience and made all the better by the fact that our daughter was treated like royalty if we were having a course she was offered something also which was a really nice touch. Well done Clositers we will be visiting again in the near future.

Gulliver's Restaurant @ Newpark Hotel
Castlecomer Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

Dined at Gullivers Restaurant as we were staying over at the hotel for the weekend. We had a lovely meal and a nice wine which was €24. The meal was well presented and tasty and I could not find fault with the food or the service, however when we decided to dine at Gullivers the next night the menu was exactly the same as the previous nite which must be a nightmare for anyone staying longer than a weekend.

Lautrecs Tapas & Wine Bar Kilkenny
9 St Kieran's Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

Visited Lautrec's on a cold nights but the visit was well worth braving the elements for. As it was Sunday we decided we would avail of the early bird menu. I had a delicious Caeser Salad, followed by a rib eye steak which was divine. My husband had the mushrooms and the Salmon and it was also delicious. We had a lovely wine with the meal and shared the tastiest baread and butter pudding I have ever tasted. The only fly in the ointment was that there were a table of revellers sitting behind us and they were in extreamly high spirits so there was no whispering sweet nothings into each others ears but that was in way the fault of the lovely staff of Lautrecs.

The Birdcage Cafe
Avoca Rathcoole, Naas Road, Rathcoole, Dublin

Popped in to the Birdcage for breakfast. Had the basket of bread and a portion of bacon with a pot of tea. My daughter had the pancakes, and orange juice. I felt it was a tad pricey at €27 for what we received. I was not all that surprised that the self service option over the other side was jammed, while the patrons in the Birdcage were thin on the ground.

The Halfway House
Walkinstown Road, Walkinstown, Dublin

Paid a visit to the Half Way House for the first time. The tables were all nicely laid out with tableclothes and flowers which was a bit unexpeced. I loved the music they played. We were given a basket with delicious which and brown bread. I had Chicken Madras, which was perfect, and my other half had Roast Beef with potatoes, vegetables, and gravy which was served seperately. Next time I visit I will definitely have to sample the beef.

The Grovesnor Restaurant @ The Castlerosse Hotel
Lakes of Killarney, Killarney, Kerry

Had a delicious meal in Kudos. I had the most tender beef ive had for a long time, my husbank has Nazi Goreng which was also lovely. There was a good mix of people about and at a time when most restaraunts are empty it was lovely to see Kudos buzzing. I will definitely be back.

Bellagio
92 Terenure Road North, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

My husband and I visited Bellagio on Tuesday night. I had been prior to the renovations but had not been back since. When we arrived we requested a table near some friends of ours this took about five minutes to set up. When we were seated the waiter went off I presumed to get some menus unfortunately this was not the case after about 20 minutes we managed to grab his attention and request them. We both ordered Bruschetta but what I got was cheese balls in a very bland tomato sauce and they tasted like something which I would purchase in Aldi, acceptable but not great. We shared a Pizza, and salad which was fine, and then joined our friends table for our coffee. This was also fine and we requested our respective bills. My friends had not been charged for their coffee and pointed it out to the waiter, they were told the coffee was complimentary and we joked that we would end up paying for it, which is exacly what happened, it was not a major issue but I just felt the night ended exactly as it started off quite disapointing. I won'e be back. BJ

Kelbys Bistro
Amber Springs Hotel, Wexford Rd, Gorey, Gorey, Wexford

Three friends and I stayed at the Amber Springs Hotel for the weekend. We were entitled to a dinner as part of our package. We found the dining area pleasent, and the staff efficient and attentive. My one complaint was that I felt there were not many options on the dinner menu. When I looked at the A la Carte menu, I did not find it differed a great deal from the dinner menu, I had a vegeterian meal in the end which was quite tasty but I feel a bit more of a selection would be nice.

Phoenix - Closed
39-40 Main street, Gorey, Gorey, Wexford

Dined in the Phoenix at the weekend. The food was delicious, the service excellent and the entertainment priceless. We were entertained by a diner with some friends seated at the table next to us. But it was amusing and entertaining. Thank you Phoenix for everything we will definitely be back.

Konkan Indian Restaurant Clanbrassil Street
46 Upper Clanbrassil Street, Near Harolds Cross Bridge, Portobello, Dublin

My husband and I love Indian food . The the Konkan is a favourite of my sister & brother in law, so I thought as we had heard so much about it we should give it a try. We arrived at about 6.30 and were the first diners for the evening. We had delicious dips and poppodums to start. Other diners arrived at this point and gave the place a nice bit of athmosphere. This is a cosy, and nicely decorated restaraunt, and the staff are very pleasent and efficient. We went for the Early Bird. I had the Samosas, and my husband had the Kebab starter. I then went for the Chicken Korma, and he had the Lamb Rogan Josh. We both had rice, and I had a glass of house wine and we finished with a coffee each. The bill was about 39 Euro which I consider to be very reasonable for the delicious food and pleasent and efficient service we received. We will definitely be back.

Pregos
Unit 2 Balloyowen Castle Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

My hubby and I decided to head out for a bite to eat and had wanted to try Pregos in Lucan for a while. I particularly fancied a proper Italian Pizza and i was not disapointed. When we arrived there was a large party that had just been seated and various other tables occupied and all being served by the one waiter and what a dynamo he was. I cannot speak highly enough about the experience. The athmosphere was lovely, the food delicious, the waiter a real gem and the price was also very pleasing. We will definitely be paying Prego another visit in the very near future.

Ventuno Ristorante
Main Street, Blessington, Wicklow

Treavelling through Blessington with my husband we fancied some food. We had a ramble and discovered the Ventuno Ristorante. The food was most definitely authentically Italian, as were the staff as distinct from (a person who is a Dub trying to be Italian). We had a bruscetta to start, and shared a delicious pizza with a side salad, we finished with a couple of cappuchinos and we could not find fault with a thing. We found the prices were certainly more agreeable than a lot of other establishments. We will definitely be paying the Ventuno another visit soon.

The Village Inn (Clondalkin)
Clondalkin village, Dublin 22, Clondalkin, Dublin

I visited the Village Inn recently for a coffee and decided to have something to eat while I was there. There are a good selection of items to choose from on the menu, which makes the job a bit more difficult as everything is equally tasty. The food is always very nice and the waitresses are so helpful and friendly they could not do enough for their customers.

Poppies (Enniskerry)
The Square, Enniskerry, Enniskerry, Wicklow

Out doing the touristy bit in the Enniskerry area and it started to rain so we decided to have a coffee stop. Unfortunately everyone else had the same idea so we could not get a seat in Poppies. Eventually went back when things had quitened down a little later and enjoyed the delicious crumble and coffee it was very nice. Will visit again in the future and have something a bit more substancial.

La Primavera Restaurant CLOSED
27 South Main Street, Naas, Kildare

Happened to be passing this establishment and felt hungry. We had previously visited it quite regularly before it relocated and found it very nice. The food was fine, the service slow, and the athmonphere a bit lacking. I don't know that I would visit again.

Ti Sean Restaurant
Castle Street, Castleconnell, Castleconnell, Limerick

Visited Ti Sean for the second time and was not disappointed. The service was excellent the staff were pleasant and efficient. My friend and I had difficulty choosing what to eat initially as there were so many choices available. I had a steak which was delicious. We were well satisfied with our delicious meal's and while we are living in Dublin cannot wait for our next weekend away in Limerick for a chance to visit Ti Sean.

The Acorn @ Castle Oaks Hotel & Riverside Mews
The Acorn Restaurant, Castle Oaks Hotel & Riverside Mews, Castleconnell, Castleconnell, Limerick

Had a meal in the Acord Restaraunt recently. The food was nice but I felt that there was not a huge amount of choices on the dinner menu it could have had a bit more variety. I went for the steak which was very tasty. My companion is a vegetarian, she felt her meal was adequate but not very exciting.

Choices Restaurant
Main Street, Dublin 24, Tallaght, Dublin

Visited Choices as our plan to dine Italian did not materialise due to our usual venue having closed down. There was a lovely athmosphere in the restaraunt. My dinner companian and I decided to have the early bird which included two courses and coffee. We had the yuk sung to start which was delicious and the waitress asked us if we would like to wait for the next course, this was a nice touch I felt. We then both had the Kung Po which was the nicest I have tasted in a long time. We shared a half bottle of wine. We had our coffee and were offered a refill which we gratefully accepted. When the bill arrived we were charged for the early bird meal but also for the coffee which added 5.60 to our bill. I had neither the time or inclination to question why we had been charged for the coffee. It may have been an oversight, or perhaps a refill is offered but charged for. I think I would venturte back as the food was very tasty but I would definitely question the bill if it was not spot on this time.

Herald and Devoy
Osprey Hotel and Spa, Devoy Quarter, Naas, Kildare

My daughter and I went along to Mash on a blustery cold and wet evening feeling fed up with the weather and in serious need of some cheering up. The Restaurant had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We selected Steak for our mains and I went for the soup starter while my daughter went for goats cheese. Before our starters arrived we were offered a tasty smoked Salmon nibble complimentary, it was delicious and this comes from two women who hate fish of any variety. We then had our starters and were presented with a raspberry sorbet with black pepper sounds a bit off putting but was seriously delicious. The steaks were divine and we selected our desserts, one ice cream and the other a coconut baked cheesecake with a Malibu ice-cream it was sumptuous. We finished with petite fours and coffee and were stuffed to the gills and feeling much happier than when we arrived. We will definitely be back.

Kundan Tandoori
Unit 4 Tallaght Retail Park, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin

Visited Kundan Tandoori for dinner. The restaraunt is quite small but nicely decorated. The food was very nice and the staff efficient and helpfull. There was a lot of vegetarian options so anyone vegeterian may be interested in paying the Kundan a visit.

Pizza Hut (Liffey Valley)
Liffey Valley Centre 22 Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

Needed a break from shopping and decided to take a lunch stop. Fancied some salad and Pizza so in we trouped my teenage daughter, my nine year old and myself. I explained that I would have the Buffet lunch but the girls selected off the menu. One had the Nachos and the other the kids nuggets and Chips. I had finished my pizza and Salad and the girls food still had not arrived. My daughter dropped some food in her drink and would not consider drinking it so there was quite a wait for a new drink. Eventually their food arrived and the Nachos were fine but the Chicken, and Wedges off the kidss menu were very spicy, and the refill of drinks still had not appeared. After some time we asked another girl to ask our server for a bowl for ice cream which you served yourself. Im not sure if the chap was inefficient, but I think it may have been that he was seating people, taking orders, issueing bills and taking money, and serving tables.

Eddie Rockets (Walkinstown)
Lidl Shopping Centre, Walkinstown Avenue, Dublin 12, Walkinstown, Dublin

My daughter and i were passing Eddie Rockets in Walkinstown and she decided she was hungry. The time was 12.05 I was quite peckish myself. I still feel this time is breakfase time and I took a chance and asked the waitress if we could still have breakfast she said we could. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food. I asked the waitress for some hot water I always need to dilute the coffee she was so efficient and brought along a spare mug also. Well done Eddie Rockets Walkinstown we will definitely be back. Its nice to see common sense is still around some establishments feel that at 30 seconds past 12 the breakfast menu finishes so I really appreciated the intelligence and flexability of Eddie Rockets staff.

LJ's Bar and Restaurant @ Louis Fitzgerald Hotel
Newland’s Cross, Naas Road, Dublin 22, Clondalkin, Dublin

Went in to Louis Fitzgeralds for dinner. I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the huge crowd and had a battle to reach the restaraunt. We were offered a glass of mulled wine complimentary and served by a very pleasant and efficient waitress. the food was delicious and adequate for us but somebody who likes big portions would be disapointed. We then went into the bar for a drink and there was a chap singing with a guitar. It was a lovely experience.

Deadman's Inn
Curtis Stream Old Lucan Road, Palmerstown, Dublin

went in to the Deadman's in on the recommendation of a friend. We visiteid on a lovely sunny Tursday evening. We ordered a shared starter and a main course each. The food was very nice and the girl who served us was fine if a little too eager to get us to drink, that aside it was a great place and we will definitely be back.

The Tea Room Restaurant
The Clarence, 6-8 Wellington Quay, Temple Bar, Dublin

Popped into the tea room for a morning coffee. The atmosphere was wonderful as was the attention to detail of the staff but to have a coffee and be charged the continental breakfast price was a little on the pricey side. I think that the items should be available individually as would be the case in most establishments.

The Laurels (Clondalkin)
Main Street, Clondalkin, Dublin

Went to dinner in the Tree Tops which is the Restaurant over the Laurels. They have a lovely early bird menu with 2 courses for 20 Euro and 4 courses for 24. The food is delicious and the atmosphere and staff are attentive and friendly.

The Egg Cafe (Avoca Rathcoole)
Naas Road, Rathcoole, Dublin

I was meeting a friend for coffee recently and I suggested the Egg Cafe. We met up and arrived at the Egg Cafe the staff were chatting away and coming and going but unfortunately we could not attract the attention of anybody We left after a wait of 20 minutes. The place was not full of people so I don't really understand how this kind of thing can happen.

China House (Lucan)
7 & 8 Finnstown Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

I love the China House. I usually go mid week and avail of the early bird menu. Theres a lovely variety on the menu and I think its brilliant that theres a free drink included. I love the decor changes they have made recently.

Arc Cafe Bar
Liffey Vallley Shopping Centre, Fonthill Rd, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

I visited the Ark with some friends for breakfast. I was impressed with the variety of food on the menu. I ordered an Omelette, my friends ordered a Full Irish Breakfast. I was delighted with my Omelette but the tea tasted very bitter and I ordered coffee instead which was lovely but, when having breakfast why get a pot of tea but a cup of coffee. I eventually caught a waitress and got another coffee but my food was finished. I was charged for the second coffee, I wonder is this normal practice, and if it is I would love to know why.

The Thatch (Kildare)
Ballymore Eustace, Ballymore Eustace, Kildare

My husband and I went for a spin with the intention of visiting an old favourite of ours The Ardenode, in Ballymore Eustace. Unfortunately with the departure of the Browne family (the old owners) there was also a departure of the customer orientated menu or the personal touch and the comfortable seating which we were so to. We went in search of a new venue. We happened upon the Thatch and were delighted that food was available at 5 p.m. We had cod and chips with mushy peas which was very reasonable at 10 Euro. My daughters had Chicken Curry with chips and rice, my husband had Salmon, and our youngest had Chicken Nuggets and Mashed Potatoes. The children had dessert and we had coffee's. We were very impressed with the quality of the food the excellent service and the price. We will definitely be returning for Lunch soon.

Derby Restaurant, Club Bar & Garden Bistro
Keadeen Hotel, Curragh Rd, Newbridge, Newbridge, Kildare

My family and I went for a Sunday drive a couple of weeks ago and decided to visit the Keadeen. We ordered a variety of Sandwiches, and Scones. The food was delicious and plentiful. We had a hugh pot of tea which is a rarity these days, you are usually given a tiny pot per person. All in all we had a lovely afternoon, and what made it all the better was that there was a family gathering beside us which added somewhat to the athmosphere of the occasion.

Poulaphouca House
Blessington, Blessington, Wicklow

Travelling on my way up from Carlow I decided to give the Poulaphouca House a try. The day was warm, and sunny and we decided to dine al fresco. My companion and I both selected toasted sandwiches and soups. We had children with us who had the childrens menu. When the children were finished eating they went to play in the garden giving us an opportunity to enjoy our food in peace. All the food was delicious the tosties came with chips and salad and were very filling. The location of the Poulaphouca House makes it a little difficult to find as its near a blind bend in the road so unless you know its there you may miss the entrance. Its a lovely place for a drink, a coffee, or a meal.

Johnstown Inn
Johnstown, Naas, Kildare

My family and I went for Sunday lunch last weekend to The Johnstown Inn and I must say it was a lovely experience. We ordered Roast Beef and Salmon and as ever were not disapointed. What I particularly like about the Johnstown Inn is the variety of delicious baked vegetables which accompany the main courses. I am tired of receiving what I consider to be mass produced average overcooked mush which I am very pleased to say never happens in the Johnstown Inn. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpfull. I also like the fact that if we leave it until late afternoon lunch is always still available. We have arrived at 6 and had lunch then. I think this is a bonus as most places are finished at 3.

Himalaya Tandoori
Unit 6, Village Centre, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

My friend and I decided to dine to Himalaya Tandoori as it had been a while since our last visit. The food was delicious as always, and the house wine is delicious and very reasonable. The waiters are attentive but not over the top which is just how it should be. It was good to visit an old favourite and see that the service and food was excellent as always.

Pattaya Thai and Chinese Restaurant
9th Lock Road, Nangor Road, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

Pattaya is a lovely local Chinese Restaurant they serve a lovely affordable lunch menu. I have had the lunch many times in the past which I thoroughly enjoyed. On my last visit I was quite disappointed with the service. Our order was taken and the starters arrived everything was fine, I love the Chicken and Sweetcorn soup which is complimentary however, there was no mention of the soup on this occasion it was offered to other diners and If I could have attracted the attention of the staff I would have asked for it but they were a tad thin on the ground on that day. The main courses arrived but my companions and I had quite a wait before we could attract the attention of the staff to request cutlery. We had desserts and coffee and were seated quite near a group of visitors from outside Ireland I know they deserved good service but so do the regulars. This is my second bad lunch time experience, I can accept that things may be overlooked if the Restaurant is very busy which It was on my last unsatisfactory visit but there werent that many diners on this occasion.
