Casapepe Gorey
92 Main Street, Gorey, Gorey, Wexford

Good menu, 4 adult meals including a good steak, starter, 2 desserts, 4 minerals and bottle of wine €114 Mussels where a bit salty but steak, pasta, salads , all good. Nice wine selection in 250ml, 500ml and 750ml Air Con dripped on us a bit, but overall wasn't to bad.

Liberty Tree Restaurant @ Talbot Hotel Carlow
Portlaoise Road, Carlow town, Carlow

Nice wine list, but one I requested wasn’t available, also had to ask for decent wine glass. Food was fine, family of 5 and accommodated the fussy one no difficulty. Desserts, where very good. Also had good breakfast, apart from finding tea pot knob in cereal bowl! Sausages where very good. Plenty of toast no crowd at 10am, coffee was bit weak but plentiful. Hotel was full enough, but no problem with youngest in bar for music till 10ish ( he’s 9). Our room was close to breakfast room/restaurant so got a bit noisy from 8am onwards, also smelt a bit of stale food . Over all not bad for family and food a touch better than usual hotel fare.

Il Corvo Restaurant
98-100 Upper Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9 , Drumcondra, Dublin

Visited with my Wife and 3 children ( 13,11,9) They put two nice tables together so we had plenty of room. Great menu, and children’s portions available on mains. 2 starters, 2 mains Veal in a mushroom/creamy sauce, and a chicken risotto plus sides ,2 pizzas, child’s main, 1 shared dessert, minerals x3, bottle of wine, 2 hot chocolates, espresso 136 euro. Good service, 5.30 on a Saturday evening. Couldn’t fault the food, maybe olive oil/ dips with the nice breads rather than just butter. Good mix of ages and families eating. Parking a bit of a challenge locally.

The Park Bistro
Fenbyrne House,, Castlepark, Arklow, Wicklow

Table of 16 on a works night out. Set menu, 3 starters ,/ steak/chicken/fish, 3 desserts. Service was very good, but steaks could only be done medium. After explaining this about 10-times, maybe the chef could have got the message. Wine list nicely priced. A bit lifeless . I didnt see the bill but was approx 35€ a head.

The Yew Tree @ Chester Beatty Inn
Main Street, Ashford, Wicklow

Meal out with another couple. wasn’t very busy but menus where very good, wine was well proceed. Desserts excellent. We had variety of dishes and no complaints. Well above usual bar food/hotel restaurant standards. Will be back. ( 190 euro include bottle of wine, round of drinks, and 4 starters, 4 mains, 2 desserts and a shared cheese board)

The Strawberry Tree-Brooklodge
The Brooklodge Hotel, Macreddin Village, Aughrim, Wicklow

A wedding anniversary dinner.. A drink each before the meal cost 15 euro, small table in a fairly full house on a Saturday night. A fixed price €65 per head, but what we had was very tasty, but two soups out of 5 starters limited the choice. Main meal was fine but not memorable. Service was far to fast we where in fed and out in 70mins!. A lovely chocolate dessert was presented as a complementary anniversary gift. The cheese board was extra with a nice port and was my highlight. At nearly 200euo including bottle of wine, was overpriced. However the €65 per head price hasn’t gone up in several years.

Eco Pizzeria & Restaurant
50 Main Street, Gorey, Wexford

A nice busy Saturday night, we needed to book. Plenty on the menu, hadn’t change since our last visit. Good wine list. The portions are large and generous. I had mixed tempura- , was quiet good, a little heavy for tempura but still nice, herself had the chicken Caesar salad , huge dish plenty . I had a fairly good steak, side of green beans,a creamy cheesy garlicky potato dish- lovely but not sure what to call it. A bottle of very nice shirze, a brandy , espresso and a latte- 94euro. Nice night, lively place.

Hunters Hotel
Newrath Bridge, Rathnew, Rathnew, Wicklow

Was a guest at a works do, so no idea of price. A nice set menu, little short on meat. Food was fresh and well served. Lovely open fires. Definitely a place for older couples and I doubt children would be very comfortable..

Baan Thai (Leopardstown)
Central Park, Block P, Dublin 18, Leopardstown, Dublin

Was there on the bank holiday Sunday. Prices are good, and couldnt fault the food. The wine list has most of the choice marked as unavaliable. Our table was tiny , less than 80cm square ,with Thai food you do get lots of plates etc. The Prawn crackers where €4. Main gripe was the indifferent service, wine arrived after the starters, long delays, ages for the bill, we actually got up and moved to the till to get some attention. Dissappointing,

The Meath Arms
Aughrim, Aughrim, Wicklow

Have eaten here numerous times, both as couple, and with friends and as a family. Prices are very competitive, menu is varied. The can cater for the child who is beyond nuggets and chip very well. The wine list is limited but full bar service. Service can be a bit slow. The chef shows some real flair at times with interesting variations using local ingredients. We are regulars and will continue so.

Dinner with better half, at 7.30. Place was very busy but our table was ready. Nice service and good value menu. I had prawn and scallops lovely dressing, she had the fish cake , alot of fish in it. I had the mixed grill ( two steaks, lamb chop, chicken breast with onions and mushrooms), and she had sea bass. Both very good with chunky chips, mash and side salad. I had cheese board , huge and glass of port lovely, she had toffee pudding. water and bottle of Sho fly shriaz at 23€ was excellent. Great value(103€)hard to fault and very busy. Lovely pint in Cartoon as well.

The Thirsty Trout Bar @ Lawless's Hotel
Aughrim, Aughrim, Wicklow

Quick bite for two. Menu has changed again, proces lower, a little less choice. Excellent starter shared, and no problems with the home made burger. The steak was best in along time, with mountain of onions, mushrooms and chips and a lovely pepper sauce. great value ( good pint as well)

The Stonecutter
Main Street, Aughrim, Wicklow

New chefs and management, I eat alone, simple menu. Wine available from Paul next door. Nice spicy chickens wings, Cajun Salmon, couple of vegs and sweet potato chips, all well done. Prices certainly cheaper than before. Well Done, and Aughrim looks great again.
