Came in early for breakfast, this place is comfortable and welcoming, had the full Irish with a lovely mug of piping hot tea with a chunk of freshly sliced toast. Great wholesome food, full set of condiments on the table and no fiddly pretentious slivers of greenery on your plate. The staff are excellent and friendly, will definitely be back.

Market Lane
5/6 Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork City, Cork

Had Sunday lunch, with the family yesterday, what a wonderful place. The menu is extensive and varied. The staff are friendly and attentive. I needed to make a slight change to the dish I had chosen as I preferred not eat one of the ingredients, the chef had no problem with it. The place was very busy which is a good thing, but the service was quick and our water was continuously topped up. You can't make a reservation for less than six persons, but you can enjoy a pre lunch drink at their bar while you wait. Well worth the visit, will be back again.

We arrived at 11.30 am and ordered breakfast I also asked for a sausage to be included as I ordered the Little Corker and according to the menu sausage was not included, and a pot of tea for two. The pot of tea arrived with two sachets of sugar, we had two ask for more sugar three times as we were able to squeeze five cups of tea from the pot, surely there should be sugar on the table with the rest of the condiments. The breakfast arrived and now I know why they call it a Little Corker. The toast with the meal was already buttered, I don't take butter with my toast, again surely there should be butter on the table, so the customer can have a choice, this is blatant cost cutting to the detriment of the dining experience. What's next will they send out the tea ready milked? A rule of thumb I use when eating out - can I do this better at home? if this comes to mind while I am dining out, then I'm afraid you don't get a repeat visit from me. However, the staff were excellent, they could not be faulted. They were attentive and friendly, we were made very welcome and when we departed every staff member bade us farewell. A beautiful restaurant, great staff but the miserly portions and the other cost cutting measures do not make for an acceptable dining experience
