This is my regular spot for lunch when I'm at work. Due to the high number of offices in the area (and lack of choice for places to go within walking distance), it's usually busy but staff work hard to serve people as soon as possible and are very friendly. Sandwiches are really fresh and good, especially the Chicken Whoopie.

Wong's is a real old school Chinese restaurant with the requisite complimentary prawn crackers and very attentive staff - albeit with quite a relentless attempt to upsell to us! The food was very good, and Wong's seemed busy with regulars who have come to trust it as a good reliable. I had the crispy fried shredded beef, tasty and sauce not glutinous as it sometimes can be - quite sweet for an entire portion though.

Lemon Jelly Cafe
Millennium Walkway, Jervis Street, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Tried the Henry Crepe when I visited here last, tasty and pretty filling. Staff were friendly and good selection of papers and reading material.

The Crystal Bar @ The Beacon Hotel
Beacon Court, Sandyford, Dublin

Visited the Beacon this afternoon with a group of 12 from work. The Bento boxes are delicious, I had a combination of the duck spring roll, stir-fried beef with garlic & fried rice. I would prefer if the dessert included was something chocolate instead of chopped fruit but you can't have everything! Service was efficient (ideal when you're on your lunch break) and staff were accomodating in terms of letting people pay separately.

L'Ecrivain Restaurant
109a Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Food was excellent as you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. Service was professional and friendly. The one point I would make for those visiting with a Menupages voucher is to be mindful that you will be a charged a service charge of 12.5% for the full price of €150, and not the price of the pre-paid voucher which was only €75. While I don't have a problem with paying for good service, I think it should be at the customer's discretion.

Love the kitsch and quirky decoration here, and tasty food.

Alfies
10 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Alfie's benefits from a very good atmosphere, and the nachos here are possibly the best in Dublin. The €5 cocktails were excellent value, and the food in general was very good. The only disappointment was the ice cream cookie desert, which was very plain & not particularly tempting.
