We had dinner in Donnybrook Fair last Saturday night. The restaurant was extremely quiet, I would say this was due to a lot of people being away on holiday. The menu was good value at €22 for two courses and had plenty of dishes to chose from. Having said that the actual portions were very small especially the main course. We had a dessert to share but to be honest it was hardly big enough for one person. The staff were extremely polite and helpful at all times. I would like to try this restaurant again maybe nearer to Christmas when there might be a bit more atmosphere. My suggestion is that if there are only a few bookings then one half of the restaurant should be used in order to fill up the space.

Pyg Restaurant
Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, South William Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Booked dinner at Pyg, when we arrived the lady insisted that we were a booking of 6 for at 6 p.m., I booked on line and at no time was our booking for six, it was always for 2 people, then the dilemma of where could we be put sitting, no better place than beside the speakers (which we had to ask to be switched down) even though there were plenty of other other spare tables at 6 p.m. We ordered, the food took over half an hour and when it did arrive we didn't get what we ordered, decided we would just eat and leave, I had hoped we would be sitting inside in the Powerscourt which was the reason for me purchasing the voucher in the first place as I have eaten there before. The venue itself is good but not for food as you can't see what you are eating as it is so dark. Would like to try it again but not in the dungeon!!!
