Shakshuka
3 Wynnefield Road, Rathmines, Dublin

Went to Shakshuka on Sunday evening for a meal. I got the spinach and cheese filo pastries for starter and they were spectacular! Bursting with flavour. I got a lamb dish with tahini sauce for my main and again, couldn’t fault it. Service was good and the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. A visit is recommended!

The Exchequer Wine Bar (Ranelagh)
19 Ranelagh, Ranelagh, Dublin

Returned to the Exchequer with a friend on Friday evening, the atmosphere was good and the restaurant was busy. The food was very tasty, having tried the Duck Ragu for main I was very impressed. It was very tender and bursting with flavour. A chocolate cake rounded off the meal for me and it was gorgeous! Highly recommend.

JD's Steakhouse
4 Rathfarnham Road, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

Another lovely evening in JD's, friendly staff and good food and wine! Got the pate to start, they give very generous portions with this, really tasty too. Tried the steak burger for a change this time, could do perhaps with a bit more sauce but thats a personal thing. Another lovely evening, great value, recommend a visit!

Vermilion
94-96 Terenure Road, Dublin 6 , Terenure, Dublin

Ate here Sunday evening and food was top notch as I'd remembered. Service was great and the house wine was beautiful! I asked for extra spice in my main and I wasn't disappointed! Great value, great food. Highly recommended!

Neon Asian Street Food
17 Camden Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Always busy and you may have to wait a bit to get a table / seats. Its decent food, fast. I tend to ramp the spice up as I find it a little too low for my personal preference, but its a good atmosphere if you want somewhere busy and buzzing. Free 99 cone at the end too

Sivad Grill & Wine Bar
3A Leopardstown Shopping Centre, Leopardstown, Leopardstown, Dublin

Got a deal for three courses here. The service was a little patchy at times, the younger staff being a bit more on the ball. The starters were decent, and the mains not too bad, but when the deserts arrived, it was easy to see where the chef's excelled. Wow! Absolutely fantastic way to end the meals. We shared the special cheesecake and the panna cotta. Presentation and Flavours were cracking! I'd definitely recommend a visit for the desert alone! Hopefully the mains improve a little, they were nice but not quite what Id expect from a restaurant,.. If this improves it could be a little gem!

Cleaver East By Oliver Dunne
6-8 East Essex Street, , Temple Bar, Dublin 2 , Temple Bar, Dublin

Returned with a friend for the early bird menu - Fantastic value at €15 a head. Id the Duck Sliders - definitely recommend them! The Soy and Miso dressing is quality with them. Went for the Pig Belly for main and it didn't disappoint either. My friends Fisherman's coddle though for main wasn't quite as bursting with flavor - a little disappointing after two great starters and previous brilliant trips here, but it wouldn't put me off returning - I still want to sample the rest of the menu.. and as always, the staff were great! Definitely recommend a visit!

My Meat Wagon
Smithfield Market Square, City Centre North, Dublin

Four of us ate here one Saturday evening, it was quite busy, food was quality and decent value - with full sharing platters for two with two sides coming in at about €50 including a couple of glasses of wine. Id recommend a visit - bring your appetite!

Bow Lane
17 Aungier Street, Dublin 2, Dublin South, Dublin

If your considering this venue, do yourself a favour and go!! The food is absolutely amazing. I ate here on Sunday evening, there was a good atmosphere and great music in the background. I got the tuna sashimi to start, the variety of textures and flavours on the plate was stunning, they worked incredibly well together. Id the the venison for main, and I'd highly recommend it, it was the tastiest venison I've had anywhere! For desert I tried the Chocolate Pave and again, sumptious! The ice cream served with it is stunning also!! Presentation of each dish was beautiful.. I'd highly recommend a visit to Bow Lane. Well worth it!

Hugo's
6 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I went for lunch here with my Mam on a Thur afternoon, it was jammed! From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome, the staff were all lovely, authentic smiles and great service! We ate on a Taste voucher, and the food would encourage me to return again. I tried the Vietnamese pork for starter, full of lovely flavours - I got the burger for main's and it was tasty also! The coffee is proper - great strength to it and I was shattered before going for food so top marks on that also. We shared a desert - all round, a lovely place to spend a some time and enjoy good food!

Pitt Bros Smoked BBQ
Unit 1, Wicklow House, Georges St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Stopped into Pitt Bros for a bite to eat - shared a meat platter, get 3 types of meat and two sides with this for €20. Quality food and plenty of it too! The mustard sauce and hot sauce were great additions to the table and work well with the foods! Staff were sound and atmosphere is lively! Some quirky beers available too, and soft serve for after!! Would recommend!

Neon Asian Street Food
17 Camden Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had my first visit here and loved it! Food is tasty and freshly made, fun long tables and a nice vibe to the place- which was really busy and obviously has a great name! Love the free cone with meals too - such a nice way to round off the meal and your food comes in takeaway containers which means you easily have the option to take it home - should you not devour it all whilst your there! Highly recommend!

Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin

I ate here with some friends over the weekend. The food is gorgeous and really good value! There was a mix up in the seating plan and we were well looked after with drinks on the house for facilitating a change of tables - it was not something we'd of had a problem with anyway but a very nice touch! The only down side was no one came near us for drinks orders at the start - I'd ended up approaching them to ask.. And I got the impression one waitress was miffed with me for doing so! Overall though, a great evening and will definitely return and highly recommend!

Jerusalem Restaurant
77 Camden Street Lwr., Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

A couple of us ate here Saturday evening, it was very busy. We got a nice table and decided to get the Beit Lahem (For two) - a set sharing of over 10 dishes from the main course. At €55 it seemed like good value for the amount of food.. and BYO made it more attractive. However, the dishes we got seemed more like sides - hummus seemed to be counted as a dish. We weren't full at the end of the meal! I'd return, but wouldn't get a sharing plate again. Lesson learnt!

Café Oasis
54 King Street North, Smithfield, Dublin

Food was lovely and great value for money. Unfortunately during our visit a family was in with a toddler and they left the child screaming for 20 minutes easily - Having no consideration for other diners (and there was a number of groups in). It was shocking. Management should of stepped in and said something for everyone's sanity. It made the meal hard to enjoy. I would definitely return for the food, it was lovely and the calamari's were the nicest I've had in a long time! But kids screaming for extended lengths of time in restaurants in not pleasant for anyone.

The Green Hen
33 Exchequer street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I'd the pleasure to dine here again, this time on a Tuesday afternoon - the food was outstanding. Everything was beautifully presented and flavours worked well together. Id the hake for main and the sauce with it was gorgeous! I tried some of the sea bass - the special for the day, and it was just as good! We shared a cheesecake for desert - It was served with a sorbet on the side which was really really refreshing! The coffee is nice and strong, staff are lovely! Would definitely recommend!

Taylors Three Rock
Grange Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, Rathfarnham, Dublin

I ate here with three others on Sunday. There is great value on their Sunday deals - €10 for a main course (huge portion) or €16 for a three course meal. Its fairly traditional food, My dinner was lovely, roast veg and potatoes with bacon and a lovely sauce over it and mash also. Its not my normal go to meal, but was a filling comfort food after being out the night before! I tried my friends garlic mushrooms for starter and they were lovely. A glass of wine with dinner hit the spot nicely, would of stayed for a few pints - there was good atmosphere in the pub but for the fact that it was miles from home! It has been busy each time I've been there and its easy to see why! Would recommend for a laid back reasonable Irish style dinner!

Odessa
13 Dame Court, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

I dined here Sat evening with a friend on a voucher, it included a carafe of wine and two cocktails. The value of the deal was quite good. I had the crab cakes to start, which were gorgeous! My friend had the mozeralla and beetroot starter but only ate a couple of bites of it before handing it to me. I enjoyed it though! Mains - I got a fish pie, I enjoyed it - perhaps a bit too creamy but thats personal choice. My friend got the pork belly but it was burnt to a crisp and not pleasant. The meat was ruined. The deserts thankfully were gorgeous and definitely made an effort to redeem the meal. Staff were pleasant but the tables were sticky in the restaurant, like they hadn't been cleaned properly after the last diners. The cocktails included that we chose didn't seem to have much alcohol in them. I'm glad to have tried the place, but wouldn't be rushing back.

McGrattans Cafe Bar
Baggot Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Visited McGrattans on Sunday for a Wine & Cheese board deal a friend had. It was quite busy but the floor manager was very friendly and accommodating. We'd a pint whilst a table was being sorted for us - There was lots going on - a roaring fire in the bar, pool tables beyond them, a group then playing live music too further up. It was a bit hectic at the start but soon settled into it. Food and Staff were top notch! The plates of food going to other tables all looked very fresh and appealing! Recommended!

Beeftro - Balfe Street
5 Balfe St, City Centre South, Dublin

I ate here with a friend recently, having purchased a voucher for a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine. I'd spicy chicken wings to start, and they were some of the best I've had! Really tasty!! The steak was gorgeous and I'd a lovely chocolate brownie for desert. Would definitely return and recommend a visit!

Wagamama - Stephen's Green
St Stephen's Green Centre, South King St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I had a lovely meal in Wagamama having never been there before - I got a Raisukaree with prawns and when it says garnished with chillis - they don't mean skimpily! It was gorgeous - the flavours very fresh and I can't say a bad word about it! Staff were friendly and service was prompt during a very busy week no doubt. Our party was well looked after and we all got the Moriawase (mixed deserts) to finish - very enjoyable!

Cleaver East By Oliver Dunne
6-8 East Essex Street, , Temple Bar, Dublin 2 , Temple Bar, Dublin

I ate here over the busy month of December with a group. The atmosphere was lovely and not one of our party had a bad word to say about their meal. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. They've a great touch to the decor of the place - when your in the main dining room have a look up along the walls / windows!! I'd recommend it and will return!

Tamara Restaurant
Unit 11/18 Belgard Square, Tallaght Town Centre, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin

A couple of us went for dinner on Saturday evening. The restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. My starter was gorgeous - chilli prawns and fish.. I got the chef special seafood with noodles for mains - there was plenty in it,and they were not shy with the fish portions! I had some of my friends curry sauce with it, and it was gorgeous. Their Thai beef curry was the winning main's in my eyes!

The Green Hen
33 Exchequer street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I had the pleasure of trying out the Green Hen a few days ago. I was there midweek with my Aunt for lunch and the place was very busy - tends to be a good sign - and it wasn't misleading. The service was very attentive without being in your face, and the food was gorgeous. Both myself and my Aunt were delighted with our choices. Id definitely recommend it and will return again!

The Bank on College Green

The Ballymore Inn
Main Street, Ballymore Eustace, Kildare

I'd a lovely meal here on Monday evening, the atmosphere was very relaxed and warming with two fires blazing at either end of the restaurant. The fresh homemade bread with butter and dip was gorgeous! I got the duncannon cod with champ for main and the flavours were delicious. My mam had the chicken dish and it was really nicely done also. We shared the meringue (served with berries and pistacios) for desert and one between us was plenty! Coffee is served with what I assume is homemade chocolate liquer. - I really didn't want this meal to end! Highly recommend dining here - always a treat!

Lawlors Bar
Poplar Square, Naas, Kildare

Myself and a friend ate a late lunch here on Sunday afternoon, it was quite busy but service was efficient and friendly. We got prawns to start, and both of us got the burger for mains. The food seemed to be a bit too greasy, the chips could of had this issue alleviated if they'd had paper in their serving baskets, and I'd guess the burgers may not of needed such high content butter buns with them. I'd choose differently if I was to return again.

Reeves Restaurant
172 Templeogue Road, Dublin 6w, Templeogue, Dublin

I've had the pleasure to eat in Reeves a number of times, and Sunday evening was another treat! We were there for a surprise family birthday and the staff were very helpful and accommodating with this event! It went smoothly and was very successful due to their organisation and attention to detail. We were all impressed with our food, I'd the clonakilty pudding and poached pear and egg for starter and the flavour combinations were really tasty together. The baked cod was gorgeous for main and portion sizes were spot on. This lovely restaurant and staff seem to be able to do no wrong!

JD's Steakhouse
4 Rathfarnham Road, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

I returned to JD's with a friend for another delicious meal on Saturday evening, the restaurant was busy but we were well looked after with a drink by the bar, and were soon seated. Another delicious 3 course meal enjoyed - staff attentive as always and good banter with them. Looking forward to returning already!

The Bank on College Green
20-22 College Green, City Centre South, Dublin

I had lunch in The Bank last week, having dined there previously and been impressed I returned for another delicious meal. I got the special of the day for €10 which was spicy noodles with prawns, and my mam got a fantastic value soup and quiche combination for €10 also. The food and service was faultless. Looking forward to returning again soon and would highly recommend a visit!

Jerusalem Restaurant
77 Camden Street Lwr., Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

Myself and a friend dined here recently on a Saturday evening. The restaurant wasn't full when we entered, but it did pack out quickly. I'm not at all surprised with the tasty food and BYOB policy. My starter - Baba Ghanoush, was very tasty, my friend was not quiet as impressed with theirs as it was a little more like scrambled egg, rather than fried as described. For the main I chose Samak Mashwi - the seasonal fish dish. The evening we were there, it happened to be Red Snapper, and I was delighted with my choice! Gorgeous flavours, well cooked fish and really enjoyed it! Unfortunately I think due to how busy the place was, we were left waiting a long time between starter and mains and as the table was booked for another sitting after us, we didn't then have time to try a desert. But I would not let it put me off, we will return for sure - a lovely restaurant serving tasty great value food!

The Avon BAR
The Avon, Burgage, Blessington, Blessington, Wicklow

Staff were very friendly, the food was beautiful! I'd recommend Il Lago, the chef is doing a great job. Portion sizes were a bit too big for us to finish, but enjoyed every mouthful that I could eat! Thanks for a lovely evenings dining to all concerned!
