The whole thing was excellent (as per my ratings), - however if I was to find one to fault, it would have been the following: - I earmarked a half bottle of red wine from the Wine List. When it arrived, I didn't recognise the label as expected. The waitress insisted that it was indeed the bottle I ordered, - to which I requested to see the Wine List again. Upon opening the Wine List again and as I pointed to the name of the wine advertised on the Wine List versus the bottle produced, - she then initiated a rationale of how the one on the list wasn't available but the one that she produced was a very nice suitable alternative. My issue is that, given how quickly she articulated about the alternative when I reopened the Wine List, - she clearly knew that this was the case, - so why not tell me that initially when I was ordering the wine. Instead I had to ask for the Wine List to prove to myself that I wasn't mistaken!

L Mulligan Grocer
18 Stoneybatter, Stoneybatter, Dublin

Was there with 7 others earlier this week. Despite me changing times & numbers (several times!) I found them to be really accommadating. We only had mainers, - and from the Hake to Burgers to what I had Chicken Kiew (very different to the normal), - everything was delisht. Can't wait to go back on a Saturday night in the throes of buzz-time!

The Chop House Gastro Pub
2 Shelbourne Road, City Centre South, Dublin

I brought my father and friend to the Chop House last Sunday for lunch. I won't be back in a hurry! The 'King Prawn' chili starter that my Father had consisted of 5 x tiny shrimps - just like you'd find in some fried rice dishes! All our 3 plates were stone cold. I had to return my Pork Belly dish as it wasn't anything like piping hot. My friend's mash was also very cold. My 2 guests didn't return theirs as they were very hungry - but also weren't anything near impressed. Maybe they were meant to be like this; the scallion onions that were served with the fish didn't even have their roots cut off on the main dinner plate! The service was 'slap-dash' at best. The waitress plonked a vase of tap water on our table to accompany our wine; it wouldn't have killed her to pour some into the water glasses which were on the table. And after dropping more than a three figured sum, we didn't even get farewell or 'Thanks for coming' from any of the staff. The restaurant was only a quarter full, and I can now see why!
