Market Kitchen restaurant
@ Murphy Bros Bar, CLARE ST, Ballina, Ballina, Mayo
Reviewed 09th February 2015 ( visited 07th February 2015 )My boyfriend and I had dinner in the downstairs pub/bar part on Sat evening. The atmosphere was lovely and cosy with an open fire, wasn't too busy either. Good menu and and the food was excellent - we had some from starter, main and dessert. The service was fast and very friendly. Would highly recommend.
Red Torch Ginger restaurant
14/ 15 Andrew Street , Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: 2
Reviewed 09th February 2015 ( visited 31st January 2015 )Food here was really good and great value on the early bird menu. We were just before early bird cut off so sat at the high tables by the bar. Lights weren't working properly so we ate with lots of candles....added atmosphere. Would recommend for good Thai food.
The Rising Sun
Mullinavat, Mullinavat, Kilkenny
We ate in the restaurant part of the Rising Sun. I ordered a chicken stir fry dish which was very tasty and had lots of veg. My aunt had the seafood chowder which she liked a lot and there was fresh brown bread with it. The service was good and the food didn’t take too long to arrive. Overall I would recommend this place and would eat there again.
14/15 Trinity Street, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin
Overall, I was a bit disappointed with our meal at Pichet’s. The service was good and efficient, however the food itself wasn’t great. I had a steak which the waiter advised I have medium rare (otherwise it would be too tough). I went with it but when it arrived, I still spent ages chewing! The desserts were okay. This seems like more of a bistro type place. Overall the value for money wasn’t great.
The Thatch Bar & Restaurant
Military Road, Crinkill, Birr, Offaly
The Thatch is a quaint restaurant/bar. When you go in, they sit you by an open fireplace where you can read the menu and decide on what dish you want. There are seats all around the edge of the room. When you have ordered, you wait until the food is ready then they bring you through to the main dining area and the food is served immeditaltey to you. The food was great and lots of it! My boyfriend had duck which was perfectly cooked and tasty. I had the stir fry chicken which tasted good and had plenty of veg. The desserts were delicious too! Would definitely recommend this place and the food served. The service was excellent – very friendly and accommodating staff!
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin
We started with a cocktail at the bar which was very good. Then went through to the main restaurant. The food was well done and tasty. I had prawns to start, followed by chicken and finished with sorbet. Sorbet was very fruity and tangy. Serving staff were friendly and attentive. Only fault was that the restaurant was quite smoky which was making me cough throughout the evening. At one point the fire alarm even went off. Aside from this, the overall experience was nice and I would recommend.
18-19 Glasthule Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
The interior of the restaurant is very nicely decorated and lit. Staff were friendly and professional, however it was a little slow. Our desserts took at least 20 mins to arrive a while to get the bill also. The food was very good on the whole, however I had sorbet for dessert which was quite sweet and not that fruity. The prawns to start were good and the chicken main also. Overall a pleasant experience and I would recommend.

Ice House Hotel
The Quay, Ballina, Mayo
My boyfriend and I had dinner in the restaurant on the Friday evening. It was quiet atmosphere, staff were very professional and service was good. My starter (pate) and main (hake) were both good, however the dessert (citrus tart) was quite dry and not much flavour. It felt like it was not fresh and the base quite thick pasty. Aside from that, the experience was very enjoyable and the wine good! Would recommend overall.
46 Upper Baggot Street, Dublin 4, City Centre South, Dublin
The restaurant was quiet when we got there around 6pm, so we got a seat by the window. The service was excellent the staff very friendly. We had been at a match in Croke Park so there were asking results etc. We had starters and mains, all of which were very tasty and nice size portions. Would definitely recommend.
Jewel in the Crown (Ballsbridge)
41-43 Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin
Had a really nice meal here. The restaurant was quiet enough on a Wed night so there was a relaxed atmosphere. The waiters were friendly and the food was good with the right size portions. We were given popadoms and 4 dips to begin with. Good selection of desserts too. Would definitely recommend.
The Orchid Szechuan
120 Pembroke Road, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin
The restaurant is small enough and was quiet when we were there, about 4 other tables were occupied. Service was very friendly, the girl serving us smiled, was very polite and seemed genuinely pleased to serve us. Food was very good and plentiful, with an appropriate gap between courses. Overall good value with the voucher. I would recommend.
