Second visit to this restaurant and the food was just as good as the first visit. However, the decor doesn't match the food. Sticky menus and vinyl tablecloths gives it more a greasy spoon feel vs restaurant. At €17.95 for my main dish of Kathmandu prawn curry without rice (€2.50 extra) it's not cheap. We used a deal voucher €20 for €40 value making the overall bill reasonable. However, I wouldn't pay full price here as the whole experience doesn't match the price. Highly recommend the food, but if it's for a special occasion, it's not really the place to go. I'd happily go back for an early bird there, but haven't been able to find a menu on line......

Tropica
3c Castle Street, South Dublin, Dalkey, Dublin

4 of us went to eat here and at a set price for all you can eat of approx €15 pp, it was great value. There are supplements on certain dishes and everyone's favourite of duck with pancakes had a supplement of approx €4pp. I'd nearly go back just for that dish alone! It was great to find a good selection of Asian dishes at one restaurant. It was our first visit and the order system wasn't explained until we'd completed the order sheets left on our table....very confusing and overly complicated! Apparently we were doing it wrong so we had to re do the order sheet in a certain way. There's a max of 4 items per table at any one time, which is fine once you know how it works there.. The food was tasty and we will go back,

The food was really tasty so this place gets a big thumbs up from me! The best tasting meal out I've had in ages and I'll go back. The place looked familiar when we arrived and we realised we'd been to the same location when it was a Chinese restaurant. The decor hasn't changed and it's fairly basic inside, but friendly enough staff and the food was so delicious that I have to recommend it and will go back for sure.

The Brasserie @ Leopardstown
Bewley's Hotel Leopardstown, Central Park , Leopardstown, Dublin

Had an early dinner on a Sunday evening and as it was early, the restaurant was pretty empty. I'm sure at a later time it would have a better atmosphere and more diners. The service was prompt and friendly but unfortunately the food was no more than average. I had salmon which just lacked any flavour. My husband had steak which tasted good. The sides were disappointing - typical frozen fries and a very tasteless side of root veg, possibly frozen too. We shared a cheesecake and it was dry and pretty tasteless. Didn't think it was possible for a cheesecake, but we guessed it was a cheap poor quality frozen cheesecake (charged at €6). Very disappointed overall as this place is not cheap. Salmon €18 & steak €21 and you need to buy a side dish at €3.75 each.Come on Bewleys, there's no excuse for poor tasting food at these prices.

The Step Inn Stone-Grill Restaurant
Stepaside Village, Dublin 18 , Stepaside, Dublin

Really great deal and lovely food. Very busy there and staff looked after us very well. So much food, but no rush so we could take our time and enjoy it. We will be back for sure and recommend breakfast there.

Il Caffe di Napoli

Wonderful meal with friends who were in town for couple of days. Saltimbocca was perfect as was calamari. Would highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Italian food.

Michael's Italian
57 Deerpark Road, Mount Merrion, Dublin

I love this place. Authentic, quality Mediterranean food. Cosy, rustic and some seating outside if the weather allows. We'd be there every Sunday if it were open. I've had the arancini a few times and always delicious. Will for sure try the weekend evening menu sometime soon.

Douglas & Kaldi Terrace Cafe and Restaurant
Level 2, Dundrum Town Centre, Dundrum, Dublin

A hidden gem in Dundrum.I've rushed past here many times as it's tucked away in a corner and decided to give it a try. Wow I had no idea they had such a gorgeous terrace! Great coffee and friendly service. We'll be back for sure.

Pinocchio Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar
Luas Kiosk, Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin

Great value voucher which we used for dinner. We've been before, but it's been a while so this was a good incentive to go back. The food as always was very good - starters and desserts were delicious. However we were a little surprised that both of our chosen mains were unavailable as they were out of certain ingredients. Normally we'd expect to be advised of what was/wasn't available when given the menu or as we ordered, as we'd have chosen differently had we known. However we were advised of the unavailability of the dishes after we'd ordered - one of the dishes literally just before they served the replacement (just as well we agreed to the change as it looked like that's what we were getting regardless!). It would have been better to tell us in advance so we could check the menu and choose something that was available. There seemed to be plenty of staff and only 2 other tables occupied at the time. Other than getting 'surprise' mains, the food was good and I'm sure we'll be back at some stage. However we'd probably pay for the regular menu rather than a voucher with very limited / no choice on what we were served for mains.

La Mere Zou
22 St Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

Great value voucher and overall the experience was very good. A group of 4, we had 3 courses with wine. The starters were all superb and the deserts devine, so clear plates all around. A few small issues with the mains, but it wouldn't stop me from returning. I had the hake which was delicious, but the mushrooms were quite gritty. My friend had the vegetarian option of root vegetable pie and it didn't go down too well with too much turnip and most of it hard. Overall we had a lovely lunch and would return.
