Went along for a bite to eat straight after work yesterday. Despite it being Valentine's day, it was not overly packed when we were leaving at around 7.30pm. Tables nicely spaced and little box with fancy chocolates was a lovely touch, without being overboard. Service was excellent and food top notch also. My partner had the day's special of Halibut which was particularly good. Nice variety on main course menu-from rabbit to various pasta dishes. If I had to criticise one thing it would be the ladies toilet- disappointing.

Nice food, although not fantastic food. Service was only OK and I had to remind the staff for my water. Overall, a nice experience but I wouldn't be rushing back.

Les Freres Jacques
74 Dame Street, Dublin City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Good food but overall experience negative. We asked for a window seat for a 7pm sitting and were told this would not be possible as those seats were to sit 4 and we were a couple. We were assured the best seat available. When we arrived we were put in a pleasant corner seat. However, the next people to arrive were placed right beside us. For the entirety of our meal there were three tables occupied in the entire upstairs section and we were an elbow away from one of the other two tables. I raised the issue with the manager/owner on leaving (I would have raised it at the start but assumed the room was fully booked and hence the need to squash us in together). The response was unhelpful. Apparently he could have moved us to another table beside the one we were seated at. I queried the fact that the rest of the large room was vacant but he explained this was for the second sitting. We had left before any of these second seatings had arrived. I had been to Freres Jacques before and my partner and I had chosen this for a special occasion. Unfortunately we were let down this time and for reasons that seemed to be entirely preventable i.e. just make sensible use of the lovely upstairs dining room.

Cafe Moda
192 Lower Rathmines Road, Rathmines, Dublin

I love coming here to chill with a strong cup of coffee and a chat with friends or even a read of the newspaper-comfi seats and nice atmosphere. Met a friend here last week and we had a lovely catch up- but then went next door for food. The only half way decent food in Moda is the toasted sandwiches. Avoid anything calling itself a bagel or scrambled egg at all costs

My first time here yesterday and I don't know why-great location and lovely atmosphere, especially for lunch time.

Went for early bird on Thursday night - excellent food for the price. Service also good, although perhaps a little overattentive for some
