We were here for a First Holy Communion lunch - had 26 guests in our party. The service was incredible - the staff really couldn't do enough for us - they set us up around 3 x tables - and all the children sat at one. This suited everybody and worked really well. The food service was superb - food served promptly - at the right temperature and no request was refused. The staff managed the 'cake' that we brought in - and sliced it - and provided plates, and carry out packages too for those that wanted to take cake away. The food itself was really good - superb quality and whilst the menu was a simple one - it suited our party. We had from aged 2 to 90 so by keeping it simply (at our request) there was something for everybody. If I had a fault - it was only a small one - the staff could probably have sold more wine on the day - some of my guests had to ask once or twice for their glasses to be refreshed - but to be fair - they made up for it later. Well done to all at PJ's restaurant - and we will hopefully be back for the confirmation. p.s. the kids were also allowed go for a swim - which broke up the afternoon for them - and they were delighted.

Gleesons
44 Booterstown Avenue, Booterstown, Dublin

10 of us dined in the almost private area between restaurant and bar. Staff here are so helpful and caring. The food was amazing. The wines delicious and it was perfectly priced. Highly recommend Gleesons. We are a fussy lot (it seems) and everyone was happy. Thanks to all.

Castlemartyr Resort (Franchinis)
N25, Castlemartyr, Cork

This is a lovely relaxing restaurant in the Castlemartyr Resort. Perfect for a change from the formality of the sister restaurant the bell tower. We dined - 2 x adults and one child. Great children's menu - with real food in a child friendly presentation. Then Italian theme is authentic - the food is delicious and the staff are excellent. Am looking forward to my next trip already.

Seapoint Restaurant
4 The Crescent, Monkstown, Dublin, Monkstown, Dublin

We thought it was excellent. Gorgeous chicken wings to start for him and I enjoyed sardines on bruschetta....the mains were fab - my monkfish was literally out of the sea - it was so fresh. We didn't have wine as the beer was so good - and we would be delighted to recommend this restaurant to anyone. DH also had a dessert - creme Brulee and a Disaronno - so all in all - good value.

Zaragoza
South William St., Dublin , South William Street, Dublin

Party of 14 - we absolutely loved Zaragoza. The food was amazing. The staff looked after us so well. We felt like VIPs. This is a TAPAS restaurant. It is very authentic and portion sizes are generous. Really looking forward to the next visit.

Fallon & Byrne (Dun Laoghaire)
People's Park, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

As I'm writing this review - I notice that the opening hours are 9.00 - 9.00 - so perhaps the main focus is the day time trade. We had a lovely meal - at 8.30......the staff were very attentive - although they shared that they had a hectic day - with children and icecream - and one or two of them looked a bit tired. Food excellent -and up to the standard of city centre. Menu was somewhat limited and they had run out of the special by the time we arrive at 8.30. I had a delicious fried hake and my husband had a very good steak.....we were very happy with our food - and will come back here again - possibly for lunch rather than dinner.

That's Amore - Monkstown
107 Monkstown Road, South Dublin, Monkstown, Dublin

This is as authentic an Italian as I have been in for many years (outside of Italy) and I was really impressed. Everything was fresh. Everything was made to order - and it oozed Italy. We were there for lunch - and we went all out......starters of Bruschetta with tomatoes from heaven....and mains - lamb rib....and Spagetti with Seafood - and of course - then we had to have dessert - Tirimisu and Chocolate Fondant. My companion is a food Guru - magnificent cook herself and very very fussy - but she was bowled over....Her ultimate accolade - I could not recreate this at home....EVEN if you gave me these ingredients. Praise indeed. 2 x small criticisms.....(1) our own fault - we didn't dine until 2.30 - at which time the staff were replenishing the cupboards and quite a lot of traffic (staff) through the restaurant. (2) again - our own fault for not checking the prices of things....we ate a lot of food - to be fair - and had 3 x glasses of wine between us - but we did get a small bit of a shock when the bill came to €102.00 before the tip. We felt it was a little too much for a daytime meal. Hence only giving it a 3 for value for money. We will be back tho' - but perhaps at night time - when I don't mind paying lots for food. Particularly gorgeous food like this is. Thank you That's Amore.
