Had a lovely evening meal here with a group of four. This was not my first time and I was happy to return as the food is always fantastic. This time I enjoyed the mussels followed by their crab meat ravioli in a saffron sauce. Getting hungry just thinking of it! Great service, beautiful food, good atmosphere. Try their Rossini for a light dinner cocktail. Will be back!

My third visit here and again very happy :) This time I shared one of the mezze's with friends and had the vegie moussaka. Both were delicious. You can tell the herbs are all fresh. In addition, they offered a great selection of fresh leaf teas (brought them all to the table) and served nuts as a gratuity this time as well. I've been here before for my birthday [try it! you won't be disappointed ;)] and the service is always great. The authentic music in background is a plus for me. If you haven't been yet, give it a try.

Banyi Japanese Dining
4 Bedford Row, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I was here for the first time yesterday and enjoyed my dinner immensely. While I think that, as with certain other other Japanese establishments, the wine and starters are on the expensive side, the food itself is beautiful and the portions are generous enough. We were also served multiple refills of green tea and free beans and this restaurant knows how to go the extra mile for presentation (of my Tiger roll in this case); the dish was creative and tasteful and gorgeous to look at to boot. Best sushi I have had in a while. The staff is very courteous and attentive (and quick, which might not be everyone's thing, but they're on the ball so to speak). The atmosphere of the place is a mix of modern contemporary with traditional touches, and a hint of elegance. Most importantly, diners are spaced evenly throughout the restaurant so that you can eat without other people's elbows in your face. I don't know if this changes at the weekend, but I had a very pleasant experience on a Monday night. Will no doubt be back.

Zaragoza
South William St., Dublin , South William Street, Dublin

We booked this place for a dinner for four. I was surprised at how large it was inside, not having been here before. It is also elegantly decorated and well looked after. I was very happy with the choice of food, and all of the dishes ordered were lovely. Just to note though - the portions here are slightly bigger than elsewhere so maybe stick to two rather than three! I ordered risotto with egg, which was gorgeous, but it pretty much filled me up on its own! No space left for desert! The only downside is that the drinks are very expensive, even for the location. As a result none of us had wine with our seafood. Would probably pick a different restaurant if I were going out after, but if you don't mind leaving the wine I'd recommend this place.

Ciao Bella Roma
24/25 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Thoroughly enjoyed a meal here with friends. It was a week day and fairly early so the restaurant was not very full, but there was a nice quiet buzz anyway. We ordered a variety of mains which all went down a treat. Especially the pasta's went down very well. I was pleased to see a vegetarian Calzone on the menu (hard to get!), which was filled with aubergine and cheese. The dough was neither baked too crispy, nor too soggy and the aubergine was just right (though perhaps another slice wouldn't go amiss). The seafood pasta in particular looked spectacular - be prepared for baby squid on your plate (though my friend wasn't quite sure how to eat them). Overall I think the mains were received very well. Regarding the deserts, I personally thought the tiramisu contained slightly too much cocoa powder, making it slightly dry, but this is personal preference. Their new desert, a crostata with pistacio ice cream is amazing and I will definately return just for that. Overall it's hard to find a restaurant with as much atmosphere and food as great as this for such a decent price and with such friendly service. I'd recommend (and will be back).

Jerusalem Restaurant
77 Camden Street Lwr., Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

Went here with a menupages voucher - fantastic value! I didn't think the vegie choices on the menu were that great (would've liked to see a maghmour or moussaka as standard), but the cook made me a special vegetarian makloubeh - great service! (though it was a wee bit dry). My husband was much taken with his chicken, and I must say the BYOB offer is laudable! The only complaint would be that the same cd appeared to be playing on repeat the entire evening... Will be back though!

The Italian Corner
23/24 Wellington Quay, Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

Went here with a menupages deal with my partner. There were a few small hiccups: 1. I noticed the waitress studying the voucher at the bar and discussing with another waitress as if she'd never seen one before. 2. The menu was not as advertised on menupages - they had no risotto on the menu we were given, which was a bit disappointing. 3. We had trouble getting a hold of the waitress when we wanted to leave. However, the food was lovely. I had the vegetarian antipasti and pasta and my partner had chicken. He was not too impressed with the chicken but my own meal was lovely and very filling. We shared a desert as well and rolled out the door in any case. I have since been back for a group dinner, at this second occasion the food was lovely too, but the courses were served far too fast, resulting in me leaving with an unpleasantly full feeling. This was probably because the group was very big as it was not a problem when I was there with my partner. Overall I would recommend it; it is not going to be my favourite Italian, but the food is lovely. Good price/quality ratio.
