Lovely atmosphere, candlelit and romantic.... very dark though so beware if that's not your scene! Lovely authentic Spanish tapas, remember to check the specials.... very nice lentils one of the times I was there. The lamb stew type dish is amazing! Reasonable prices and good wine list, perfect for a romantic date of for a little munch after a hard days shopping! I will definitely be going back again!

Very busy and LOTS of screaming babies and kids running around. The manager was extremely rude and asked us with no manners whatsoever to move from our table and another party had reserved the window booth. So we all, including my very elderly grandmother, had to get all our drinks and menus and move. She did not even apologise. A very big selection of food on the menu but they fire out the dishes with little care put into the food. HUGE portions, a cheap and cheerful place that isn't really that cheap. Ok at times but not for a special occasion. Quite casual.

Handy for a quick bite late! Food fast and cheap, not amazing but adequate for what it is. big portions too.

The Saddle Room @ The Shelbourne
The Shelbourne Hotel, 27 St Stephen's Green, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

I ate here on my birthday and didn't regret it!! Staff and service excellent...we even received a free bottle of Prosecco (they said Champagne but we didn't complain, it's nicer anyway!) I wouldn't recommend the seafood platter for starters, it costs 75 euro and we were slightly disappointed when we realised it was chilled on ice...rather bland but the actually quality of the prawns etc was very high. I had the tomato soup with goats cheese crouton which was gorgeous and one of the specials which was venison, also very tasty! Desserts delicious too!I would only go here on a special occasion because of the price but it was worth it!

Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Love this restaurant....very reasonable prices and HUGE portions so I would recommend sharing starters and a dessert (if you can fit any more in!!) The vegetarian nachos are my fave, really yummy!! Staff very helpful and friendly and the cocktails are gorgeous. Also like that they bring a jug of water to the table without you having to ask! Will definitely be back...soon!

Reeves Restaurant
172 Templeogue Road, Dublin 6w, Templeogue, Dublin

Went here on a Sunday night for a birthday. Restaurant was nearly full and very loud but only because we were next to a group of about twenty (all excited women!!). Anyway, food was excellent! I had the baby beef stirfry for starters (huge...enough to share!) and garlic chicken for main with side of fresh market veg, really lovely! No one had a bad meal, but one of us got the duck spring "rolls" to start and it was one rather small roll, not rolls. I would recommend the garlic prawns they were divine! Will definitely be returning, value and service good.

TGI Friday (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Bit overpriced, but fine for something to eat before going to the flicks. HUGE portions, big menu, nice cocktails but again overpriced. Not for someone who like fine dining...very relaxed and casual. Service OK.

Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Absolutely the worst service I have ever received!! I was here with my partner and after he accidentally knocked over a glass and it smashed on the floor we were asked (impolitely) to leave. The reason the glass fell was because we barely had room to more our elbows we were that squeezed in and there was no space at our table. I have never been so embarrassed and humiliated in my life. This was just as our main course came so we did not even get a chance to taste it and also left a JUST open bottle of 80 quid champagne. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Vermilion
94-96 Terenure Road, Dublin 6 , Terenure, Dublin

I wouldn't put this restaurant in the "Indian" category and I certainly will never return there! They try way too hard to be modern and "contemporary" and completely forget about making well-cooked authentic, tasty Indian food. Most disappointing and soo overpriced. Everybody in my party agreed it was one of the worst restaurants we had ever been to. If you actually like real Indian food then don't go here.

The Peacock Restaurant @ Finnstown Country House
Newcastle Road, West Co. Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

Absolutely LOVE this place. The setting is fantastic and I always go for the Sunday lunch buffet. First there is soup and bread, which is gorgeous, and the waiter keeps offering more bread-great! Then hot and cold starters-also brilliant. Try the ribs and potato salad, both fab! Then a carvery style roast with a great selection, usually lamb, beef, turkey, ham, some form of fish and they are happy to cater if you cannot find something you like. Next is dessert which is a great selection of cakes, pastries, fresh fruit salad, ice cream and homemade pancakes made right in front of you with any topping you like! Service is excellent too and worth the price of the buffet. All I can say is make sure you are really hungry before you go!

Fallon and Byrne

I have only got take away from the deli here but is delicious!!Was so sad when they changed the menu and the chilli was gone and the meatballs too beacuse they are both very fresh, homemade tasting and gorgeous! I think they rotate the menu every so often so it's ok. Prices are soo resonable too, I don't think I go back enough!

Zaytoon (Parliament Street)
14/15 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I love kebabs and I'm so glad I discovered Zaytoon.... their kebabs are amazing! If you don't like kebabs then don't bother, as you'll be disappointed. Forget the chips they're terrible frozen ones but the rest of the food makes up for it and you'll probably be too stuffed after your kebab anyway. Great day or night, sober or drunk!

Little Caesars of Rathfarnham
Rathfarnham Orchard, Butterfield Ave, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Like most Italian restaurants it is reasonably priced. Food is lovely but atmosphere is bad with a crammed restaurant and very small uncomfortable "kitchen" chairs! I would probably only go back for take away!

Chrysanthemum Chinese Restaurant

Beautiful food, great service. Perfect after one or two drinks in the pub!

Meghna Tandoori
8-12 Terenure Place, Dublin 6, Terenure, Dublin

By far and away the worst Indian food I have ever tasted!! Maybe I have high standards when it comes to Indian but everything we ordered seemed to have milk or cream added to dull down the taste for the Irish palate. Maybe that is why it has got good reviews! The food even looked wrong, as it wasn't the colour most of the dishes usually are and this was obviously down to whatever was added to it that gave the creamy texture (even in the tomato based sauces!) Would never dream of going here again...most unauthentic!

profile_review

Johnnie Fox's Pub
Glencullen, Dublin Mountains, Glencullen, Dublin

If seafood isn't your thing then you might find the menu a bit limited. Everything is so fresh and homemade though. The atmosphere up there is brilliant and if you don't mind being a bit packed in, it's great.

Thunder Road Cafe
Fleet Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

I agree with some of the other reviews that the food is below average and not worth the money you pay for it. Its cheerful but not that cheap. Cocktails, atmosphere. Staff and location are good though. An ok place for big groups before a night out.

Eddie Rockets (Tallaght)
The Square, Shopping Centre Tallaght, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin

Best staff of any Eddie Rocket's branch I've been too. Lovely food and great for a bite to eat before the cinema or after a bit of shopping. Nice and relaxed...you know exactly what you're going to get. Overpriced though.

Overpriced and staff always get the orders wrong but I keep going back because it's yummy comfort food!

TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Quite overpriced for what it is but nevertheless I enjoy myself most times I go here. The food is great, staff not so great. This place is ok for an informal lunch or cocktails, so you can't expect silver service or gourmet food. Relaxed and fun. I would go again, my only bad comment is the price.

Il Baccaro
Meeting House Square, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Lovely authentic Italian with lots of character and charm. It's small and a bit of a squeeze inside but the food is lovely and resonably priced. Great for a date!

Very quiet the night I was here so got great prompt service the staff were very friendly and polite. The food was scrumptious, of a very high standard. I would like to visit here again!

Zaytoon (Lower Camden Street)
44-55 Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

The food in here is amazing! Great kebabs and good variety too! Perfect after a night out or the day after the night before, or lunch or anytime for that matter. Will definitely try the hummus next time, as it seems popular in the other reviews! Good value but not FAST food...as in you could be waiting a while and gets very busy after hours! Love this place and I find it a bit better than there other branch in Temple bar...maybe I'm biased because it's nearer but they're both great!

Spurs Family Restaurant
U42 Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Liffey Valley, Liffey Valley, Dublin

Don't expect too much from this place and you'll be fine.... it’s not supposed to be anything very special, quite casual. I found the food to be lovely and a good selection on the menu. Staff and prices are fine too. Great for a bite to eat after shopping or before the cinema, nice and informal!

profile_review

Hard Rock Cafe
12 Fleet Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

I definitely agree that this branch of the Hard Rock Cafe doesn't live up to its international sisters! It was nothing compared to the other ones I've been too in Cancun, Florida and even across the water in London! Poor service and below par food. We both ordered cocktails...one was like drinking lemonade and the other pure vodka (maybe they put the alcohol from mine into the wrong glass!!) I won't be returning until they get their act together! Also the annoying automatic doors kept opening and closing every few seconds and it was freezing!

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Lovely casual dining, order lots of different tapas and mix and match! Good variety on the menu and great service. Love the jugs of sangria ... and try it topped up with an extra shot or two of alcohol for a bit more of a kick and a flaming sambuca for afters! Reasonable prices too!

Indian Brasserie
Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham Village, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Have been eating here for a few years and while I think the take-away service has not been as good as it used to recently (long delays, cold food, wrong orders etc) I cannot fault the dining in the restaurant. We always pick the buffet as there is a great selection of different dishes to try and if what you fancy isn't on it, there is also an a la carte menu (also a selection of "European" food on this). Great family run restaurant atmosphere who are so friendly, kind and happy to help. This is the best Indian food I have tried and I have eaten in many Indian restaurants this is most definitely the best Indian food I have tried in Dublin. It is pricey but worth it.
