We were in the area with a friend and decided to have our lunch here. Nice and cosy pub with a restaurant/ dining room and a venue for larger events. The waiting staff are lovely and friendly. The food is really nice and tasty, uncomplicated, and there is plenty of it. I've actually eaten here a few times, had the chicken vol-au-vent, the roast beef and the stuffed chicken breast and all were very nice and filling. There is always a lovely and fresh side salad. Dessert menu has typical classic pub desserts and a few unexpected surprises, my banoffee pie was lovely. If you are in the area I would recommend a lovely lunch here.

I love this restaurant. Lovely homely feel feel. Excellent service from the staff on the night. The food was out of this world, so fresh. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning sometime soon.

I have never had a bad meal here and I have been many times. The family who run the restaurant are always very welcoming and there is always something new and delicious on the menu. It is amazing value too - last time myself and my parents were in with them (my parents have been back since) 4 courses, a bottle of wine, a pint of cider and 2 pints of Club Shandy (orange and lemon - Rock Shandy in Dublin) was about €100 - which is amazing by Dublin prices. I am hoping to bring my parents back in over the St. Patrick's Weekend when I am down with them in Tipperary. I would advise anyone who is looking for good decent food that comes in proper portions (not haute cuisine portions) to try Hayes at least once and you will not be disappointed. Their pub grub is also fab. I was in for a mid-day meal a few years back and the portion size was big enough for 2 people.
