Popped in for a late dinner. Steak looked great value but it tasted like it had been reheated. Chips were OK. Pepper sauce probably elevated the food from bad to not too bad. Pints were nice and cheap so that's a plus. Staff pleasant. But the food left a lot to be desired.

Found ourselves wandering around Dun Laoghaire this evening and decided to give this place a try. The restaurant is big and airy, over two floors with great views of the water/pier. Staff were friendly and helpful. You order at the bar (give your table number), pay in advance and your food is brought to your table. The menu has a huge and varied selection, it was difficult to choose. Food came quickly. I had a burger, came with onion rings (awful) and chips (cold). The burger itself was OK. My friend had a burrito and really enjoyed it. Seats were comfortable, place was busy but tables are well spaced out so you are not sitting on top of other diners. It's cheap and I think you get what you pay for but I'd be happy to give it another chance but would order something different. It's no gourmet dining experience but not the worst either..

We had the valentine's day special offer, came down at lunchtime and The Forty Foot was already packed. Quiet gastro-bar with no kids (much appreciated!) My chicken was perfectly cooked and nicely accompanied with piri-piri sauce. My wife's salmon was also very tasty. Our dessert (apple crumble with custard) were also very filling and just perfect. The meal was amazing value at 30 euro for a 2 course with a bottle of good wine (Wolf Blass) included. The beers also great value at 2.50-2.75 euro. Only downside was service was quite slow, but I will definitely back to TFF!!
