Came here for the first timein ages. My order was ok. But friends lemon chicken was so hard she needed a saw to cut throught it. So i was pretty dissapointing as I used to really like it here. I'd feel id be taking a risk if i returned.

The best Chinese restaurant in Dublin. Absolutely my favorite. (I went to about 60 of them). Sweet and sour chicken (crispy on, no pineapple) is absolutely smashing. I go there with my 3 year daughter and she is always treated with a small toy or a soft drink. ect. The prawn crackers and fruit are free with a meal ordered in the restaurant. I have been in all 30 best fine dinning restaurant and for a cheap food this is the one that I would 100% recommend. If you do not mind a bit tacky interior... you will love the food.

Been going to this restaurant for many years now and am still impressed with the food. I love the won ton soup. The sweat and sour chicken with pineapple, the green beans with chicken and chili, the salt and chili king prawns and ho fun noodles with stir fry vegetable. This restaurant offers authentic traditional cuisine not the run of the mill stereotype chinese dishes that would be found in the more expensive city centre restaurants. I and my friends travel from Dublin 4 to go to this place and it is worth traveling the distance. Chinese cafe style, very friendly family run operation, and exceptional value for money. Perfect for pre cinema meals or later night dining.

Popped in for an evening meal with a group of friends. Very nice ambiance (a lot bigger in there than I thought). The food was very nice - though it was a little spicier than I thought it would be. Our server was very pleasant. The early bird menu is very good value. I would visit again as the food quality was very good for the price.

I decided to try this out as it got such good reviews on this site. On arrival the place looked tatty to say the least but I had a feeling it would. I told my partner that the food would make up for it. The starter was ok but it lacked any presentation. The main course was a complete joke. We both went for house specials. These arrived already on the plate and the rice came on another plate. None of the plated were matching and the chips were soggy. The biggest dissapointement was the meat/chicken, the chicken was like jelly and so was the beef(I'd say it was frozen meat definitly not fresh)I cant believe anybody gave this place a good review. We left very disapointed and wont be going back. Our local take away is far superior and a lot cheaper. Do not visit this place not even for a take away.I'm usually quite easy to please when it comes to food(see my other reviews) so I can't understand the other reviews.

Kitsch decor including fake plastic trees. But overall great and very cheap chinese food. Try the dumplings 10 for €2! Very friendly and efficient staff. Phone number above is wrong.

I absolutely love this place. It was such a great find. The prices are incredibly fair and the food is top quality. It's menu is very traditional and also very authentic. Every time I come here I always have to try something new because the menu is full of exciting new dishes that other places don't offer. Sometimes I'm afraid to try new dishes in the case of disappointment however here I try something new each time i visit. I have been here about 6 times already, I would probably be here everyday for dinner if I lived close to the city but unfortunately not. The interior is like street diner cafes that i'v been in hong kong so not much is to be expected from the interior but the atmosphere, food and service is especially good so usually I would rather eat here than go to a fancier restaurant no matter what time of day. It's just faultless.

Its so hard to find authentic Chinese food in Dublin. Its either adjusted to our palettes so much that it is unrecognisable – this is not the case at China House on Parnell Street. A good thing about China House is that every time I am in there are Asian folks enjoying a meal. One of the best ways to choose your meal is just to ask a fellow diner what they are having. They are more than happy and receptive to the interest you show. I had dumplings to start at 2 Euro. You get 10 of them made from seasoned Pork and with vinegar to taste. They were easily the best I've ever had. For the main it was Pork with Spring Onion and Chinese Cabbage. Described as very spicy but I found it ok. Both were fantastic and clearly they use great ingredients and produce. The service was fantastic. Our host was enthusiastic without being fawning and very chatty when you spoke to him.

Excellent restaurant, good quality food and the staff are very friendly. It's gotten cheaper recently too, making it even better value for money than before. There is a great variety of dishes available, their fish dishes and dumplings are especially good.

This restaurant is popular amongst the chinese for obvious reasons: it offers some really cheap quality staple dishes. While their beef noodle with soup and some of other staple foods are worth a try, other dishes may not be quite as good (and they're more expensive as well). It's a typical chinese eat out with somewhat a cosy atmosphere, but the service can be improved a bit.

A true afficionado of this restaurant, I am never disappointed by the excellent food, friendly service and fabulous value it offers. The portions are a reasonable size to allow people to share different dishes in one sitting. Dumplings and egg fried noodles are the best in town. the place istself is very simple, borderline kitch, giving you a feeling of being eating in a family diner. They offer a delivery service which is a treat.

Yet again a wonderful meal had by all at the China House. There were three of us this time. We odrered 10 Chinese Dumplings, 2 Lamb Skewers, 2 Boiled Rice, Chilli Duck, Sizzling Beef with Black Pepper and Crispy Sweet and Sour Pork. The ladies had a pot of Green Tea (with free refills) and I had a Tsing Tao Chinese Beer. All this came to a grand total of €37!! Absolutely lovely food. There was a large party in the restaurant also who were celebrating a child's birthday. Really nice atmosphere in the room. All of us were very, very, very pleased with the meal this time around (as usual). I really love this place and will miss it when I move away from Dublin next year. Will be back many times before the move though. If you are ever around town and are in the mood for some cheap and authentic Chinese food, served to you with genuine warmth, then make your way up to this place, you will not be disappointed!!!

Everytime I go here I am never let down, a friend said she wasnt as impressed with the food lately but we visited last week and food tasted even better than it ususually does. The portions are really big and very godo value and a great thing is if you don't finish your meal they have no problem with you bringing it home, they give you the little lunchboxes etc. Myself and my friend each got a main course and rice extra and a drink and the total came to something like €23, what a bargain! I would definitely recommend this place, I have been going here since Moore street days and the standard just keeps getting better!

The food is excellent. I have used them twice for Chinese new year events and they made special food to order and were fantastic and even the pricing they were very reasonable...even a discount for the Chinese new year as a nominal gesture. My friends eat here often as well and I have not heard any negative comments. Go try this for a "real" chinese meal at a cheap price.

Firstly, i am not sure that the China House is still at 180 parnell St - i think it may have moved. The China House is now up near the Cinema end of Parnell St. We popped in here, for a quick and reasonable chinese. Service was great, lovely people working here. Decor is as you would expect from these restaurants (bit thrown together!), but atmosphere was good. Unfrtunately the food wasn't good. I had spare ribs to start, not great and a veggie stir fry for main, dissappointing, lots of canned or jarred veg. My Dad hot hot and sour soup, which was too spicy (actually inedible) and a seafood stir fry, which he enjoyed, but was relatively tasteless. Beer was good though!
