Was very disappointed !! We popped in for some sunday lunch. We got a table lucky enough as the place was very busy. Our orders were taken quickly enough and our starters came out soon after but then we where left waiting an eternity for our mains and with 2 hungry children that was tough going. Usually they bring out the children's meals with our starters because kids can take a while to eat but we weren't given that option .One of the kids got sausages that where burned and inedible. My daughter got a steal sandwich, the bread/roll was like a rock! The kids meals were very pricey and not even a ice cream included. Overall extremely over priced and the food was just not up to standard. Will not be back anytime soon. There is too much competition out there, especially for childrens meals.

We were staying in the area when and decided to go in for dinner, the service was good and the food was fantastic even if the prices were a tad steep. I highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding to anyone going.

while out for a drive last Sat with our 3 yr old and 10 month old we called in around 2.30pm for something to eat, Our order was taken quick enough and food received promptly, Myself and my husband had main course each, he had fish and chips, which was small enough considering the price and i had the burger, food wasnt cheap and we were disgusted to be charged €2.50 for a baby bowl which consisted literally of one scoop of mash with soup over it, as most places do not charge for this if full meals are being ordered. We also ordered a kids meal and waited, 15 mins despite our 3 yr old screaming for his ice cream, for it to arrive. Our kids were getting fed up so we asked for the bill, 3 times, and waited another 15 mins for this. As this was passed the lunch time rush we were surprised that they were so slow and would not be keen to return

I live locally and I've been to the West Wicklow House several times for food, but I hadn't eaten there in about a year, until this Christmas when we decided we'd have our dinner out for a treat. The place was absolutely packed with people, as you'd probably expect on Christmas Eve, and there were kids everywhere. We got a table and perused the menu and I was slightly disappointed to find only a handful of dishes on offer. The usual leather bound menu wasn't on offer and we were handed a sheet of paper to choose from. I chose the fresh cod and chips, which I felt, at nearly €13 was a bit steep, and my partner chose the steak baguette. The atmosphere was ruined by the arrival of Santa who was there to entertain the children, but his incessant bell ringing was putting people off and I witnessed several people leaving. Our food arrived and I was a bit stunned to find no more than seven chips on my plate. Back in the day, they used to give you a generous amount, but this looked quite mean. There was no salt on the table and only two sachets of vinegar. In fairness, the cod was delicious, as were the chips, but for the portion size, I don't feel it was worth the money, when I could have gone to the local chipshop for the same meal for less! My partner's steak baguette looked terrible. The meat was rubbery and chewy and the baguette soggy. The only saving grace were the fried onions. This place used to be so busy, the food used to be delicious, but the standard has definitely dropped in recent years. The waitress who served us was quite surly and moody looking and nobody came to ask how our meal was. In future, I'll keep my money in my pocket and eat elsewhere,

went here for dinner and it was lovely. Both of us got the steak and it was cooked to perfection. The service was great also although the waitress was almost too attentive (if possible). The food is good value and i will have no hesitation eating here again if i am ever passing through blessington.

Visited here with 2 friends from the UK for Sunday Lunch and realy enjoyed it. we all opted for the same thing, Roast Turkey & Ham and it was lovely. turkey nice and moist piled on a bed of creamy mash and stuffing, a roast potato (would have like more than 1) and a side dish piled high with carrots and cabbage which were full of flavour and did not seem like the normal Sunday lunch boiled away to nothing variety of vegetables. We had 3 different people serve us during our stay and each of them were really friendly and very helpful and made us feel welcome and relaxed. If i am passing through Blessington again i will have no hesitation calling in again. There seemed to be a nice choice of desserts but we were all too full after the dinner.

Went in here for a quick bite to eat. Normal pub grub but can recommend the beef burger - huge, with lots of onions and won't leave you hungry. There were a lot of people eating here so I reckon it's quite popular, although it was my first time here. Would defo return for another burger though!

Have tried this place a few time, more out of convenience than anything, food isn't bad, just average pub grub. But most decent pubs have something that stands out on the menu, something their known for locally, this does not, hence the average tag. If your hungry its ok,but better places locally

Ate there on our way back to cork. Seemed busy for a Monday evening with plenty of people eating. the Manager and Waitress were very nice and recommended we try the specials, The menu had plenty to choose from but then we spotted the specials board which read amazing. I had seared scallops and king prawns and wait for it curried lime and coriander new potatoes, My wife had the grilled seafood platter which had monkfish, hake, salmon, scallop, and king prawn, Cooked to perfection and tasted so fresh. For what we got, the price was for excellent. Restaurant food in a lovely Pub. Staff were lovely the manager was Fab. Only down point needs more menu boards around to advertise the specials... Will be back for sure and looking forward to seeing what’s on the board again

Not too many people in, but it was a very relaxed atmosphere, guys chatting at the bar, people dropping in to eat. My partner and I both ordered the steak and onion baguette. The portion was quite big, the baguette served with salad and chips. Really lovely, steak was beautifully tender. Would possibly have been nicer on ciabatta with garlic butter, but we were very satisfied! A really nice pub grub dinner. Menu and specials seemed pretty comprehensive, something for everyone. Service was great. Only one waitress on duty but she was a lovely girl, very friendly and attentive. The only negative point was the accompanying pepper sauce; tasted like it may have come from a packet. it was fine, but I wasn't too fond of it. €31 for two big dinners and two soft drinks. A nice place.

Really like Blessington and this pub is lovely and has really good pub grub but better. We were there for the Lions victory over south africa so the athmosphere was great but noisey. Will defo call back on a quieter evening as the mid week menu looks really nice. The pub has an old theme yet is sparkling clean. They have a huge beergarden where they also serve food, great for smokers, which I am not, but nice all the same on a fine day. One to try if in the area.

We came here as a group last Sunday. Having been here before I know the chicken curry is good, and is even called "famous chicken curry" on the menu. Food was ok, we had burgers, steak sandwiches, beef stroganoff and pasta. Both the stroganoff and the pasta were really nice. Deserts were horrible. Cheese cake barely had a layer of soggy biscuit and the top half barely resembled a cheese cake in look or taste. We came here as its one of the better places in the area to go when we were passing through, and seeing things within the restaurant on this visit has put me off a little. I thought it a little on the expensive side as well.
